Alright guys, i'm not going to write massive amounts here, this is definitely more of a blog for myself to see my progress throughout the year as well as adding some motivation to play and perform well. On the 17th of March, I deposited $15.84 with the intentions of just grinding the micros for a while playing 6 max and HUSNGs (both hypers) and I managed to lose like $9 of that before hitting a bit of rungood (for anyone who plays 1.50 6 max hypers, you know how bad the players are). After that, just ran at EV for a bit, things went well and i'm putting in a lot of volume meaning that i'm crushing the micros at the mo (I am running good atm though).

I'm predominantly a HUSNG player, but I can play 6 max, I just think there are too many regs at 6 max for it to be as profitable. My plan is to grind a lot over the summer and get the majority of my profit/VPPs from there, but it'll all depend on how the BR is looking and how much my parents moan at me for not getting a job (lol).

Pretty much using a 50/35 aggressive BRM strategy, probably taking shots whenever I feel like it as i'm comfortable at these stakes with the plan of having more BIs for the higher stakes.

I'll update regularly and feel free to ask any questions you have. As of the 28th of March (11 days in, this is my graph):

Current bankroll: $781.95

Haha, understandable considering most of the people who deposit small aim too high. HUSNG.com is good for videos, but I learn the most from just chatting HH with people on skype and putting in a LOT of volume. Hypers become second nature after a while.

I'm having an absolutely horrible day. Down like $250, playing some 6 max's and not even exaggerating when I say that every bubble/HU all in is going against me, no matter how good I get it in. One example:

    Poker Stars, $14.41 Buy-in (40/80 blinds, 8 ante) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 2 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite. View Hand #12382592

    SB: 2,094 (26.2 bb)
    Hero (BB): 906 (11.3 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q Q
SB completes, Hero raises to 200, SB calls 120

    Flop: (416) Q 5 5 (2 players)
Hero checks, SB bets 160, Hero calls 160

    Turn: (736) K (2 players)
Hero checks, SB bets 1,726 and is all-in, Hero calls 538 and is all-in

    River: (1,812) 5 (2 players, 2 are all-in)

    Results: 1,812 pot
    Final Board: Q 5 5 K 5
    SB showed 5 4 and won 1,812 (906 net)
Hero showed Q Q and lost (-906 net)

Just a quick post, gotta dash out. Had a real bad downswing the other day, just rebuilding my roll. Playing a bit out of my BR at the moment, but we'll see how things go. Will be grinding a few hundred games when I get back tonight, but so far for today:

Lol my graph clearly looks a lot better now. Don't ever ever underestimate the variance in these things.

You'd assume that you could only downswing like that through tilt, but I assure you I very rarely tilt at the tables these days. Admittedly, didn't play my best, but the card distribution was horrific.

Cheers. 1-6, found that i'm doing a lot better 1 and 2 tabling but i'm a bit of a volume whore to be honest so i'll probably 4 table most of it.

Haha thanks. Just constant hard work and willingness to improve my game.

Going to bed now for a bit, managed to complete my turnaround from the downswing. Taken some money out for life expenses.

Thanks. I've been playing poker for 4.5 years, had some ups and downs in that time but i've spent a lot of it constantly trying to improve my game. You'll never achieve anything in SnG's without putting in a LOT of volume and studying. The players are pretty bad at the micros so I knew it wasn't going to be an issue, but the variance is a joke in these things, hence why I just try to put in as much volume as possible.

Internet is playing up so I thought i'd talk a little bit more about other goals. Firstly, bankroll is now $1,027.47 thanks to another decent session (albeit small). Haven't put in much volume today at all, feeling really lazy and I have no idea why. This brings me onto my first goal of getting healthy.

I'm not fat by any means, but I could definitely do with getting more exercise and eating healthier. Poker and the money surrounding poker makes you lazy and this means no exercise and too much fast food. Consequently, i'm finding myself lacking concentration for any more than a short period of time and it's something i'm desperate to improve for when I put in long sessions. Have some exams coming up soon for uni, so will be looking to grind a lot over the summer once they are done.

Furthermore, looking to play some live events when my BR permits. Not sure on what sort of bankroll i'd be needing (especially b/c of the cost of travel and hotels), but it'd be nice to be able to play some big events without too much worry. I also want to look at getting coaching once i'm playing a bit higher because although I don't feel out of my depth at all, i'm sure i'm making loads of mistakes that I don't need to be making.

I've had a really good start to April and i'm hoping that I can be at the 30s/60s in no time at all, because that'll be where the good money is being made. I also think that I could realistically achieve 300k+ VPPs were everything to go to plan. However, until then, plan is to not withdraw and keep grinding. Gl at the tables all.

Graph for yesterday/couple of hours today.

Got into bed because I was pretty tired and got the laptop out just to browse the internet for a bit. Being the total addict that I am, fired up stars to just play a couple of games to see how it goes. Nothing really exciting is happening until I notice this fish get it in really bad and accept a rematch twice. So I decline all my other tables and just focus on this 1 table because i'm tired enough as it is. Anyway, game after game goes on, i'm up a fair bit, he claws some back with a few coolers then I manage to win a couple more. He finally declines and i'm now up $433 for the day (6.5% ROI), while still below EV, although not by much.

Urgh.. really can't be bothered today for some reason. Short session, made a couple of bad calls at the end so going to take a break for a while. Did a sweat session earlier with the view to offer coaching which would really help me boost my BR with no variance so that's something i'm looking into.
