Thats one sick hand. I just wonder if it's not more profitable to shove. You probably concluded that size is always a bluf but if he plays 74 this way he surely plays a ton of his Ax this way. Maybe you're afraid you still get called by a pair because fish don't fold pairs on paired boards? OP I'm so confused
07-13-2013 , 12:38 AM
Most single pairs will just check back such as Ahi busto draws cuz they beat all our air. The only hands that need to bet here are strong value hands and busto draws that we beat with QThi because QJcc is precisely the same as Ahi

My guess

Been grinding really hard the past few days, with decent results but I've decided that I'm not going to look at my graph until the end of the month. It's kind of a mental thing that every time I've hit the ~10k mark I've somehow ended up nuking my next session. Preformance anxiety or something or other.

Anyways so this could possibly be the last graph I'll post this month, I'll still try to keep it updated with interesting stuff. But yeah.

sup homeslice.

Thought process:

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $5(BB) Replayer
Hero ($1,534)
BB ($698)
UTG ($586)
UTG+1 ($848)
CO ($408)

Dealt to Hero A 7

fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $15, BB calls $10

FLOP ($30) 3 2 K

Hero bets $18.91, BB raises to $57.82,

Hero calls $38.91

TURN ($145) 3 2 K 4

Hero checks, BB checks

RIVER ($145) 3 2 K 4 5

Hero checks, BB bets $125, Hero raises to $250, BB raises to $625 (AI),

Hero calls $375

Hero shows A 7
(Pre 59%, Flop 28.9%, Turn 97.7%)

BB shows T 6
(Pre 41%, Flop 71.1%, Turn 2.3%)

BB wins $1,393

I shouldn't be raising the river because I expect him to be polarized there to nothing and not spazzing out. Probably better to bet than to check. Leading the turn is also an option because it's unlikely to get bet.

Been playing more and more HU. Battling a few of the regs. Played one guy for ~4 hours yesterday and I think I played pretty well. Ran decent/okay. I think it's important to be honest with how you run after a session. Played a few others a few days before as well and played mediocre and ran so-so. I don't think I'll be posting any of the HU hhs, sorry. I'm paranoid.

Met up with zachaser a few days ago and had all you can eat Japanese food. He's a pretty cool guy and feel free to check out his PG&C. Oh and he merked me at super smash. I got juggled across the map. I need to work on my smash game.

Girlfriend and her mom are driving up so I need to tidy up my room a bit. Not sure how much grinding I'll be doing the next few days.

I'm at 371k VPPs on the year. 84k this month. Solid grind effort for not really trying. Think I'm still trying to hit SNE but it won't be easy.

Here's a few small owns.

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $6(BB) Replayer
SB ($615)

UTG ($640)
Hero ($696)

RIVER ($312) T A 2 3 T

SB checks, Hero bets $45.90, SB folds

Hero shows Q 9

Hero wins $309

I might have the best hand here a small % of the time but he can also have like 44/55 he randomly decided to xr the turn with and KQ. Plus I don't really want to showdown this hand either.

Hero wins $1,204

Still not looking at my month graph but here's a sneak peak. Think before the past 3 days though I was down a good amount so this month isn't nearly this cheerful.

In the Q9 and 49 hands what strong hands would you make those bet sizings with? Would it be a lot of weak made hands or would you make that sizing with the nuts sometimes as well?

This is pretty much the same spot to the QT hand where I Hero'd. My betting range (and his checking range) here is polarized to basically nuts/nothing. There's really no need to bet anything else because I pretty much win with anything showdownable, so it's unlikely I randomly bet something for "thin" value like Jx in the 94 hand.

thaaanks! They'll find out soon enough when you bink the Aussie Millions.

To be completely honest I've been playing pretty poorly the past few days. Been grinding in the late night when I get back from a pretty intense (by my standards at least) day out. Been taking the girlfriend+mom around sight seeing, museums, viewpoints and such.

Put in a 6 hour Zoom session yesterday and my brain pretty much turned into mush by the end of it. Think I might possibly put poker off until they leave.

Oh and they brought my monitor up . I'm #excite to set it up. My first 27'', shipped all the way from Korea. They have these sick 27'' monitors that use the A- pannels from the same manufacterers as Apple and Sony and sell them for 1/3rd the price. And they ship to pretty much anywhere in the world in 2 days. It's a sick deal, but be sure to email each guy and make sure they will ship elsewhere. Because I got owned and ordered from a guy who wouldn't ship to somewhere out of the country from which I placed my order.

Anywho off to bed. I'm bushed.

I'm sure you have done research before buying it but from my experience, and I don't know of anyone else to have had problems with them but I bought a Crossover 27" (same thing as Shimian and other brands off ebay) and it fried 2 video cards (both from the 'approved' list that the sellers show on ebay) and has stopped working since.

Spoiler:
Not sure what the point of my story was, but the Korean brand 27" was no good for me and it ended up costing me a lot more than just buying a new Dell

Good luck!

gl sharkyGD! subbed. imho you were one of the toughest regs on the network when you played a low number of tables, but stopped being so nasty when i saw you at 8+ (when i think ur freq's changed too much). Get back to crushing hs asap, you are too
good for mediocrity.

p.s i wanna hear about marlo and "those" sessions, i looked at the replayer, tilted/frustrated? would given an insane price on him ever beating you, even over a small sample.

Think there's still wiggleroom to not have to be GTO. That said I do think it's important to understand balance/be balanced/have a semi balanced game plan. Like you can't just go around doing your favourite stuff without people noticing.

Yeah thanks for the heads up! My friends have been using them for quite a while with no problems so I thought I'd try it out. Your thread is pretty sick, keep up the good work!

Oh dear. Let's just say even though he plays bad, I played worse. There are many things I didn't understand back then. It's so funny that every time I look back a few months I find out how little I really understood about poker then and how much I think I know now (and then knowing that in a few months I'm just going to think the same). I was doing many things fundamentally wrong and if I had the chance to play him again, I'd play completely differently. I lost a decent chunk of my roll due to him, and I guess everything is a learning experience.

There was a bit of tilt and scared money, but it all boils down to I really had no idea what I was doing back then.

Plus it was Lock money which isn't worth anything anyways :P.

Get on Stars already so I can play you HU .

So back on the grind! Had a huge rostucko session. After playing really poorly I took a short break and then jumped right back in. Was playing 16 tables at one point, alot of it HU and 3handed. Few fun hands that I'll post later.

Also just set up my monitor, really happy with how it turned out. At first there was an error in Korean that I couldn't read but luckily iGolf is a gansta and translated for me.

Here it is, kind of blurry because it's hard to focus with the monitors being so bright. I'll post pics of the pad tomorrow.

Finally get to look at my month graph. There's something wrong with HEM EV ever since the Stars update (EV doesn't show up in the RIT pots), but I think I'm still running above EV. That said I'm not sure if I'm running bad/good. I think I may be running normal, but getting in alot of coolerish spots.

Been playing pretty poorly the past couple days. I'm not sleeping well, not sure why. Also housemates and other people have been smoking around/in the house and it's driving me nuts. I actually feel light headed. Could also be because I'm not eating healthy.

But yeah best month on Stars yet. Can't really be bothered to pull up hands right now, but here are the giraffes!
