I don't understand why you are leaving this. Lifestyle-wise you have peaked and now you're headed to ****ing Portland?? I don't understand. There should be a robust gay scene in Mexico near the border as well, no? You have an amazing beach view from your room or living room whatever the hell that is, and you're going to Portland which sucks. I know this because I have been there. I am truly confused. Also Portland is more expensive.

you're right. it was the last hand of the session and I typed it up right after, too tired to even realize.

it's not. the wake up call is that I'm no longer rolled for 1knl and I have the smallest bankroll/liferoll I've had since I first dropped out of college 2 years ago - and this wouldn't be the case if I just stuck to 200/500 online. whether I have/had an edge at higher stakes is irrelevant because I had no where close to the bankroll to be playing in those games.

lol, if my lifestyle peaked here that would be really, really sad. My place + the view is amazing, probably the best I'll ever have, but without an SO or friends to enjoy it with it's pointless. shoutout jdawg, if it wasn't for him I would've been a total recluse these 6 months lol

If I was going to stay down here I would have to move into one of the cities and learn spanish so I could have some kind of social life. right now I'm 30+ miles from a gay bar. the closest guy to me on grindr is 15 miles away lmao. I've never been anywhere in the US that I could even see guys 15+ miles away on the app, there's just too many to scroll thru. so no, the gay scene down here is not great. the culture is very conservative/religious, which I guess I expected, but it's much more than even the US.

who knows, maybe I'll hate portland. but I need a change. I miss living walking distance from things. I miss american food. I reaaaaally miss american grocery stores, even the walmart/costco down here don't have nearly the selection/quality of goods that the same walmart/costco do 40 miles north. I'm tired of waiting at the border and being harassed by border patrol every time I go to the states. I hate that I have to waste a day driving a few hours to pick up weed a couple times a month, then risk crossing into mexico with it and going through a bunch of police checkpoints. I miss being able to go to the library or go for a hike.

my goal has always been to take advantage of being able to live anywhere I want (well, except california lmao). if I don't like portland it's just on to the next one

I have yet to see a latino in a speedo down here this isn't spain, this is conservative, rural mexico lol

For sure, thanks. I looked at a random push fold chart. A4o probably slightly too light to shove then, A7o+ seems reasonable though since people tend to overfold

I play it when it runs, but it doesn't run 24/7. tends to be a little bit softer, but the lowered hands per hour makes up for it imo. I prefer the lower variance sometimes though

tgigs have you visited Austin? It’s probably the best city to live in atm. Considering it’s in Texas, it’s saying just how good Austin and the surrounding areas are. Especially for poker. The Pacific Northwest is a very wet, grey, passive aggressive depressing place. Austin almost has everything the best cities in the pnw do but with better weather and lower cost of living.

never visited, though I was considering it. texas doesn't seem like a chill place to live imo. they just legalized gay sex in 2003 (they didn't actually but the supreme court did lol) and their weed laws are insane. the pacific northwest is a beautiful place imo (and I didn't see any sunshine when I was in Portland) and it's fairly liberal within the cities. I know austin is liberal for Texas, but.... it's texas.

I didn't take any good pictures in portland, but I drove the coastline back and got a few:

view looking up the coastline (I took the last picture on the top of that hill on the right):

Dope pics man--thanks for sharing.

I've never been to Portland but have heard great things about it. I have lived in Austin before, for over 8 years, and I'd really encourage you to check it out. It is insanely liberal--you can't really overstate it. You can't really add the caveat..but it's Texas..cause it really is like another world from what you may perceive Texas being. It has a huge gay community, and everyone I knew smoked bud. You can't be stupid with it, of course, and the herb isn't as good, but there are so many benefits to living in that city it's a small price to pay.

If I had not received the job offer I did in California, I never would have moved.

The only thing is the summers are hot as ****. But I'd really encourage you to visit the city.
