Gl man will be following. I’m along the same lines, limited cash game experience but looking to improve and my goal right now is to hit nl50. More concerned about being confident and being a steady winner over the long haul than anything else.

Super lucky no one called me on my freeroll

Been studying pretty consistently and just getting fully caught up at work so I will be able to study a lot more in the near future, just been forgetting to update the sheet.

I also got to see one of my favourite bands in the world last night in Portland, an Icelandic band called Vök. Super weird how it happened but they were playing at the Odditorium in Portland and the first person I met there happened to be friends with the lead singer, so I ended up getting to meet her and hang out with the band a good bit after the show. The drummer is my homie now. Good night, very motivational to get out of the “needing to go to work daily” stage of my life lol.

Hey man, feel free to send me a PM if you wanna chat, I have the same style of goal, don’t need money right now I just want to get absolutely solid mathematically and learn GTO for later in life. More concerned with doing it right.

So true what you said in the beginning, sticking to one thing will always get you where you want to be the fastest. Done that all my life, switching up my studies, sports, switching from cash to tournaments.. and so on.

I was a cs student aswell, and it's definitively hard with all the bs you have to learn, and very time consuming if you want to do great.

Yeah man, honestly it’s ridiculous. It’s to the point people are continuously surprised by all the tiny random **** I can do or know lots about, but it’s all very shallow knowledge/experience. Even skateboarding, probably one of the things I’m best at, it’s like there are kids who have been skating 1/4th as long as me that can do 10x better.

Honestly of everything I’ve ever done, I’ve probably done Norwegian the best. Hoping to say that’s poker and music in the next couple years but gonna take a lot more time than what I’ve been putting in lately.

Like I said in the beginning of this post though, this thread will never stop getting updated and I’m not gonna be happy if all I ever post in here is “yeah didn’t do much” so it’s time to make it happen

so, I'm still here, like I said, not going anywhere this time

Just finished reading The Subtle Art of Not Giving a ****, interesting read

and finally ripped the MP3 audio from the CD included with my "Enjoy Norwegian" textbook, which supposedly takes the reader from a B1 up to C2 level, so in theory after completing this book I should be well-prepared to pass the Norwegian test I need to take in order to move to Norway.

On the poker side of things, turns out building ranges and doing meaningful study is a bit difficult if you're not playing/don't have recent 6m hand histories to work with. So I'll have to start playing again. Got back into my old ignition account and deposited a small sum.

Also, the only reason I haven't bought piosolver yet is pretty much because I'm just doing everything off my macbook air with 8gb of ram and 5-10gb of free disk space lol. going to need to either clear all of my music production stuff (ableton and a bunch of VSTs, samples, etc) so that I can partition the drive and install windows, or I'm going to need to get a new computer. Leaning toward the latter option so I can get something with 16gb of ram so not limiting myself in terms of tree sizes i can work with, generally prefer laptops but also might be moving to a bigger space soon where I'll be setting up a full on studio so will be getting a desktop computer for that purpose anyway

Sitting in the same boat as you. Definitely need to get a PC, all the best programs are mainly for windows. Always running windows emulators will only work so good imo.
