Prop bet void

Well it's been a good run... but the 12 week challenge has come to an end. Jim and I agreed to void the prop bet, due to the fact that I have effectively been permanently kicked out of the club that I planned to grind.

I successfully completed 20 out of 60 days of this challenge, without any strikes or any starts after 9:00am, and I won a total of $11,000 USD across these 4 weeks, which I'm super happy with. I also won $200 AUD from completing the 3 week prop bet with another guy.

My profits went as follows:
Week 1 Profit: $3900
Week 2 Profit: $600
Week 3 Profit: $9100
Week 4 Profit: -$2600
TOTAL = $11,000 USD PROFIT

I'm happy I took this challenge up. It's been great to get into a solid routine and grind productively each day. I really feel like this challenge has made me a better person. It's forced me to step out of my comfort zone to wake up early each day and push myself through any signs of tilt, fatigue or boredom that show up.

Now I will take a few days off to relax and have a mini-holiday, then I will go back into the grind. I'm not sure what the future holds for me. There are dozens of home games running in my city, so I might attend a bunch of them. I also might experiment with sites like Ignition, although I'll start small like 50nl because I think that the players there are a lot tougher.

I want to publicly thank Jim and the other guy for making this prop bet against me. I might not have lasted 4 weeks if not for the friendly competition and wanting to win the bet. It wasn't even solely for the money, but also just for the ego of winning.

I also want to thank every one of you guys for supporting me on this journey. You guys gave me the motivation to update this thread daily and you held me accountable. Even the trolls/haters gave me motivation, because I felt determined to prove them wrong. So thank you all for joining me on the ride.

105 hours in 29 days and you need a holiday, classic 6bm. GL for the rest of the journey.

Jesus dude, this is absolutely ****ing pathetic. Of course Jim wants the bet void, he's giving you 13 to 1 on the easiest prop bet in the world. All you have to do is sit at your computer for 8 hours a day and play a game you supposedly love and plan to do for a living for the foreseeable future. Someone literally bet you that you can't just sit down and do your job for 12 weeks. Should have been the easiest $4200 of your life and you should have been doing anything and everything you can to make sure the bet continues.

I kind of thought you'd turned a corner and you were really on the road to success but I'm starting to realise maybe the haters are right and you really are as pathetic as many people in this thread make out.

Seriously dude, get your **** together.*

Yeah, with all due respect I think you overestimate how much people want to see and hear from a literal homeless poker bustout.

You can't say "with all due respect" then call me a "literal homeless poker bustout". That's not respectful, nor accurate. I'm a van dwelling poker legend! Get it straight buster.

The thing is: I lost almost $4200 AUD in a single day. That time I was playing 200nl, I was stuck $2500 USD at one point.

So this whole mentality of "it's free money" doesn't really apply when I have 40 days left to go, and I could lose the entire value of the prop bet in any one of those days.

Of course, and you could have won it back the next day. That's just poker variance. It going to happen. That's why we use BRM.

I assume you're eventually going to play 160 hours of poker over some time period and of course you're going to experience swings. The only difference is you're not going to get a free $4200 at the end of it.

You could have played smart and not risked anything substantial. The terms of the bet (before you changed them for no benefit to yourself) said that you could have just played micro stakes and made an easy 4.2k. You are the one who chose to play higher than you are comfortable with, the bet had nothing to do with that.

What an absolutely idiotic thing to say. You're playing games you think you're +ev in, right? If you think you're +ev in those games and lose the value of the prop bet, it doesn't matter. He was also willing to let you play $60nl so your argument's even more ****. Your perspective of poker and gambling is astonishingly bad.

Playing lower than 100nl would have been stupid. The bet was some nice extra free money but it's not enough by itself to make that a reasonable hourly grind.

OP was legit broke 4 months ago, has never made 30k in a year in his life and you think if he doesn't make 40+ an hour that's not worth it for him? What?

6b hate to burst your bubble but you will get destroyed even on 50nl at ignition. Ive had a long history at ignition across all stakes except high stakes, and you're welcome to prove me wrong. But id think its not in your best interest to play on tougher sites microstakes especially if youre tryna be a pro as i think your winrate is 1bb/100 at your absolute best (zero tilt) and even if your bb/100 was decent you wouldnt earn enough money anyway just bc the buy ins are small. Im being frank and not tryna be a dick.

Dam, sad to see this prop bet over, was hoping you would finish it to prove the haters wrong.

I have pmd you a way to play online poker with a softer player pool if you want to take me up on the offer.

drop down to 20-40 NL, get some coaching, get into an online training site. It's not like you need to spend that money on thai families, eating out and playing B-D Game on tougher sites right now. You can use your mini holiday for learning now. 8 hours a day seems fine.

Did you even look at the numbers before asking this question? The bet is like $9 an hour added. He's not coming anywhere near $31+ an hour from playing 60nl or lower so idk where you pulled $40+ an hour out of thin air. He'd be lucky if he made $10 an hour grinding the micros. So yes, it would be stupid for him to do this bet below 100nl. 6bet doing something dumb without thinking it through would be very on brand though.

OP should start playing on Ignition and streaming the hours he plays the only +ev option he has atm or just wait for the crown to reopen and start donating to the reg pool there..
