Been so slack, mostly lack of internet connection is making it tough, working through the issue now to get it on at the new unit.
Starting to settle in to the new place now, getting into a routine, more aware of the sights and sounds around the place and it's great to have our own space.
On the poker front, the first 7 days of the year have been profitable, up around $
1,300, but last night was an interesting session with some interesting spots that I would like to post here and get any feedback from ya'll.
HAND 1: $2/$3 10 handed, Hero A
10
(button) eff. $220.
Villain UTG blind raises to $8. Villain is fairly tight unless losing, then the gamble comes out in him massively. He is a regular for getting it in with suited cards when picking up some equity on the flop.
We get 5 callers for $8 and Hero raises to $45 as a squeeze, villain calls and one other calls. Flop comes J
9
5
, checks around (pot $165)
Turn off suit 4, Villain bets $70, other folds and Hero pushes all in for $110 more after coming to the conclusion that Villains range is likely to include huge amounts of air and draws, maybe weak one pair 5x or 6x. My question is if Villain did have those hands that I put in his range, do you think there was enough fold equity for him to fold for $110 more?
HAND 2: $2/$3 10 handed, Hero A2h (button) eff. $360.
Villain 1: Nits sweaters while at the table, his arsehole must be so tight I don't know how he ****s.
Villain 2: Drunk as hell, has some idea, but in typical drunk style, runs up a huge stack playing loose and getting people to call him light, only to blow up a 200bb stack in one hand with no pair no draw.
V1 raises UTG $15 we get 3 callers, I call and the blinds call (pot $105).
Flop Q
9
4
V1 leads $45, folds to V2 who min raises to $90, folds to Hero who calls, folds to V1 who thinks for 30 seconds before moving all in for $315, V2 then moves all in for $357.
Hero call or fold?
Cheers Mac
