Thanks for the reply.

I set my goal for January to try and improve my game but still play enough to get gold status. So i worked out the numbers and it is about 20 games per day.

I found when I didn't set a schedule I was focusing too much on volume and not on winning %. I would settle for marginal spots, looking to end the match early so I could start my next game as soon as possible. Surely I could probably have a better hourly rate doing it like this but my game won't improve nearly as quickly.

Also, I plan on going for platinum status in February so I don't want to get overwhelmed with volume now as I will need to play more than 20 games a day come Feb.

gl. I made gold status this month playing $7s/$15s and it's not too hard to achieve. Enjoy the upswings as the downswings will surely come. I ran 20bi under EV in one session last week, things ain't always rosy in turbo HUSNGs. Although they mostly are.

Thanks man. I realize it isn`t that hard to achieve but I didn`t play my first hand online till about January 12th so I was a bit behind schedule.

As for the swings, your right, it isn`t always rosy but those of us who can stick it out will be here in the end. One day at a time.

It's a good start! I've been hanging around the $15s (or $11s and $23s as they were back in the day) for ages and keep meaning to move up but never seem to have gotten round to it. Find these kind of threads motivational, so keep us updated!

Today was a grind to say the least. Ran way below EV and was getting really frustrated evreytime I lost but didn't let change the way I played. I took several breaks throughout the day, by playing in groups of about 4 or 5. Was 7-7 on the day when I took my most painful beat.

Was getting bossed around by what seemed to be a reg or just a really aggressive player. He was solid but his strategy was fairly transparent and very exploitable if you were patient enough and knew how to attack it correctly. We were both at about 30BB.

I had KK on the button, and limped in as he was very aggressive and it made sense for me to let him carry the betting action. He made it t150 and I decided to flat.

Flop came Q 8 3

I checked to him, he bets, I shove. He snap calls Q10. Turn 9 River J

You have finished the tournament in 2nd place....

Statistically I realize it isn't that bad of a beat but it was painful given the way the match had gone he was getting on my nerves which is rare so I really wanted to win and thought I played the hand well enough to deserve the win.

I didn't care for a rematch and left as emotions don't really help things much. I go sit an open table and low and behold he sits me again.....needless to say this next match didn't last too long. I got the early chip lead, got him all in but lost the race. Then lost another race several hands later giving him the 2nd victory. You win some you lose some, I wasn't happy though now 7-9 on the day I would have to win all 4 matches to make it a positive one.

About an hour later I played a 4 game session. Won my first three games fairly easy. Lost the 4th one when I shoved top pair (9) hoping to pick up the put and get a fold but to my surprise the guy called with just a J10 high. River was an 8 giving him a straight. He accepted a rematch but I was at my 20 game mark for the day and decided to settle for 10-10.

What do you guys typically do with your fpp's? I am looking at the VIP store and nothing really seems to be that great. I think I will use them in satellites, win them, and then unregister for T$.

Is this the best way to do it. I realize you nee to put in time to play them but I am sure it would be worth it if your a winning player.

What tournaments are best? Thanks

Thanks man.

I ended up finding a pretty sweet sat (tcoop 12).

4 man table. Winner take all so my HU play is a big advantage.

250 FPP's x4 people, pays $16.50 T$ so 0.165 per 1FPP

I figure I can win these 40 percent of the time. Even if I only hit a 25% clip its a nice change of pace from the husng's.

Just played 8 of them. Ended up winning 3 which sounds pretty good but it is actually awful considering how poor the play is. Highly recommend them to everyone. Word of advice, just play real solid and be patient. The players are in a real rush to get the thing over with. Good Luck.

Best use of FPPs, in order, imo:

a) Convert to $T. I don't know if they still exist as haven't done this in a while, but find the 240FPP 6-max hyper turbos. If you are even half-decent you convert at the best rate of all options
b) Amazon vouchers (if you're in the UK, very good conversion rate - not sure about other countries)
c) Platinum star/supernova cash bonuses

Started off the morning session going (9-4) then decided to take a break.

During my break I came across a program that allows you to record your desktop called Camtasia. I am sure you guys are familiar with it. Anyways I am going to record some of my games and see if any of them are worth uploading. If not its an easy/lazy way to review some of my games.

Got 7 games left today. Hoping to go 4-3 or better.

Ended up going 6-1 in my last 7 games!

In the game I lost a supernova sat me. He wasn't the greatest player but obviously better than the norm.

I had the 2-1 chip lead when I 3 bet shoved A Q on a K,Q,6 board. SN called with KJ

I was unable to catch up. A few hands later I made a really good call with A8 on his 4 bet shove. He flipped 77 but again I couldn't hit.

Other than that my hands held up pretty well today. Would have been nice to beat the SN with a but nbd.

Today (15-5)
Total (60-40)

60% win rate for my first 100 games since starting the thread. Would be nice for this to continue over the next 100.

Another 20 tomorrow. Good Luck

Playing another 10 games tonight as I don't really have many hands to review. Figured another 10 games wont hurt. Also I may want to take a day off to prepare for February.

Will update the final results tonight. Currently (3-3). Don't feel like I am playing great but on all 3 of my losses I had the guy drawing to the river and they hit so I guess I can't be playing too bad. Made an obvious mistake last game, fortunately for me it didn't have an impact on how the tournament went and I was able to win.

Will post it now. I realize it is a clear call/fold If I miss but wanted to post to prevent me from making the same mistake in the future. 4 more games, hopefully can go 3-1!
