Played £5/10 at the Vic which actually played more like £10/25 and £25/50 as the straddle or double straddle was on most of the time. Super soft and should have made more if I had not been bluffed out of a £2k pot in my very last hand (happy to post details on request).

You living in London Coopah

Played loads of NL2k. Would love to play nosebleeds but that the moment I acknowledge that there is quite a skill gap there so no intentions whatsoever to do it. Tbh if I can clock $50k+ months for the next years, then I am not the one to complain that I am stuck at NL2k Though probably will bumhunt NL5k soon if I ever get back onto the winning streak.

Requesting live HH.

and happy birthday sir

Ok then.

I declare last hand of the day and make it £40 from UTG with 99 (I have been playing pretty wild & crazy poker), UTG+1 who is an aggrotard fish makes it £160, MP1 who is passive whale cold calls, CO who is a semi-fish also calls. I elect to just flat despite being very confident that I am way ahead of at least UTG+1 and MP1 range but was 300bb deep with all of them.

Pot is £655 and flop comes JJ3hcs, checked all around. Turn is 2c, I lead for £300 which is probably a bit small in retrospective but have a bit of problem with sizing live. Aggrofish folds, and passive whale min-raises to £600, CO tanks for ages and then folds, I elect to call. Was not quite sure what to think about his min-raise as I played for over 3 hours with him and never seen him raise any bet (in fact he always only limped/flatted pre-flop as well) but on the other side his play did not make much sense. So elected to call, given pot odds, etc...

Pot £1855, river As. I check, he bets £600 I tank for a bit getting ridic odds but was kind of happy to book my winnings in the last hand, so say that he is never bluffing in this spot and fold. Only for him to proudly flip over K7ss. Dunno what to think of my hand.

yeah, my stop loss is at 8bi. I pretty happy to keep it that way. Think if I lose more than that I am very likely not to play my best game (though in this case I think I played okish).

ha, you serious? though probably only 11 years since midnight
Yes serious. Happy b-day. Is it time to start taking theses?

Spoiler:
you are probable old enough to remember the comercials

I'd play it the same the whole way in terms of line taken, but apart from as you say the turn sizing is a bit too small. My favourite place to play live pokerz is def either there or at the Palms if sober. Empire £2/5 when drunk ftw!

Yeah I live in London (Aldgate) - although moving back out to Surrey next month as rent is up (evicted for noise complaints every week)

I play under the nick MrGamblerr btw, GL at the tables. Not happy you are a scripter though

Not anymore :-(

Knew who you are at the tables but really surprised by the way that you live in London. Thought I knew all of them. You in touch with smb, mayo, etc...?

Licence expired. Anyway, responded to your PM to take this discussion off my thread as you suggested.

Month is still not very good but things are improving. Played poorly on a few days earlier this week because bad mental state (due to problems in my private life), ran below EV for a change and in general absolutely horrible at NL2k. My EV winrate for the month is not even that bad so hopeful I can turn the month around. Though obviously there is no chance I will make even half the profit of last month.

Why? Don't give up. You played 65k more hands last month. There is plenty of time to turn it around.
02-10-2013 , 07:54 AM
hand 10k to hand ~12.7k looks like fun
02-10-2013 , 09:03 AM
Only 1/3 of the month gone. Pretty sure you will turn it around.

I was at the VIC Thursday night and games were good

Do you ever go to the Fox poker club? I've never been to that one, was wondering what it is like

FYP. Fox got taken over by Genting casinos and shortly after they decided to close it down, probably to reopen is soon as a normal casino. Also cash games there were poo, mostly 1/1, maybe some 1/2
02-10-2013 , 12:24 PM
Yeah fox made you pay a sign up fee of £15 if you wanted to play cash
Also chips were terrible

This is my fav part of thread so far, so obv that you've put in some office hours here by capping your daily hours at 7h30!!

Okay a few random questions if you don't mind, apols if i am incorrectly treating thread as a well but **** dont ask dont get!! Feel free to delay/ignore response if you like for when it suits you.

1. How much of your Banking experience do you think has played a part in your success of the last 12 months? if you worked in a diff sector do you think you would've approached poker with a similar appetite...
2. What's the hardest thing about moving up stakes the way you did? And did you have timed goals to move up or just moved up when it felt right?
3. Do you think you'll get bored of poker in 5 years time like some of the young barstards? or do you think having worked for some time will give you a better outlook when things get boring and turn into a grind?
4. What's the poker road map for you?

Cheers
