Seems like an ordinary hand to me, standard call given your reasoning and how you underrepped on the flop.

However, i think twice on your reasoning to check the flop. Not that its bad to check but why you would think there is no value to bet the dry flop. He should be able to have Qx and 6x, any PP and gutshot/bdfd right? Whats the harm to bet say 1/2pot considering even a small bet prices out anything that could get a call.

Its a 3b pot so its tough for him to really have much...lots of mid pairs and mostly hands that bricked the flop. I just dont feel like I get much value at all from betting here and would rather have him catch up a little on the turn and then start extracting value.

Plus this villain loves putting people on AK in 3b pots, especially "young kids" so by checking I implant that doubt in his mind and most pps are going to call 2 streets (big streets btw).

I guess I just feel like hes check folding so much here that I thought checking was going to be the best action on the flop.

I'd check the q62 hand back, in 3bet pot a check back to the villain makes RU's hand look like AK/AJ or maybe even JJ/TT that are scared of the Q on the board. Plus no draw on the flop. (Well unless he calls 3bets with K2 lol). If he has a pp or even a worse queen he will pay to the river.

Assuming he does call light and puts you on ak, then cb the flop is the right play. Cards he calls with on the turn he calls with on the flop, unless he hits something on the turn he wouldn't have had on the flop, and then you can be behind. Then we can check the turn repping ak and then fire the river for a hero call if he does end up with mid pair or a weak q.

So is the plan here to bet fold if he check raises the flop? Seems like a c-r puts kq in bad shape in a 3 bet pot but since hero might have a more aggressive image you csant be sure villain isn't check raising with a pp. Or AQ, or a set.

Here's a hand I just played...copied it from a text

2 limpers co makes it 25 I have AJo on btn...I make it 70 everyone folds co calls, flop is QQ5r he checks, I c bet 90, he tanks for about 30 seconds and makes it 190, I tank for a minute and thought that there's no way he's gunna check raise a Q here and I felt like he was just trying to get me to fold a lot with small medium pair...so I jammed for his last 300...he tanks for about a minute and a half and folds 77...I show

Yes and they do so for a reason. It works. You have a hand you are trying to get max value from.

I'd have to have more info on the guy besides terabad reg, but it is tough for him to show up with too much that has us beat if his calling range is wide (which it turns out to be), as well as if he is capable of c/r with bluffs or bad top pairs there otf, or if he is only going to do that with the nuts. Then the decision would be pretty straightforward.

That is one hell of a session sir. As a regular at the same stakes, this thread is a treat for me as I try to expand upon my knowledge of the game. I also appreciate you being the only person to provide feedback in my own PGC. Subbed, keep crushing!

damn that's impressive. I can't wait until I'm playing the 2/5 in Winstar. I just need to know who you are so I don't EVER sit a table you're at.

He hates coloring up for the most part, so just look for the mountain of red chips. Shouldn't be too hard.

Decent session at that game in ft worth, cashed out 1700+. Got up to 1700 pretty quick then lost a 1300 pot with flopping broadway and backdooring the 3rd nut flush vs the 2nd nut flush blehhhhhh.

Then scooped a 5 card hi/lo hand with A36QJ on a 489T2 runout for 1300 pot. I hate hi/lo btw...I suck at it lol.

Looks like tmrw is going to be the last session at Winstar for the month, leaving for AZ tmrw then driving to Vegas on Sunday...should be a blast.

LOL. Yeah. It's pretty sparse, then you hit Abilene then there's NOTHING. Then a taco stand in Midland. Then a WHOLE LOT of nothing. Then a dust cloud (mixed with stray bullets) they call El Paso.
