The Psychology of Poker: Handling going broke

This is my first day signing up for 2+2 forum and I'm ready to take my game to a whole new level. I am an avid $2/$5 NL player that has not played in about two months and started reading The Psychology of Poker by Alan N. Schoonmaker and inspired by David Sklansky. Just needing a little motivation to really get me to the game I want to be at. My main focus is to learn how to handle my emotions (ego) and patience at the table. Any feedback about how to stay focused, build confidence, and increase my poker bankroll will be greatly appreciated. Until Next Time.

Look up breathing techniques and simple meditation guides and try them out. You'd be surprised how you can tap into yourself a little bit and increase your patience and self/ environmental awareness. Also, we all have certain times of the day where we feel more clear headed or sharp minded because we had a certain number of sleeping hours or whatever. Shoot for playing during your peak hours of the day and make damn sure you don't play while you're tired/hungover/emotional. Playing optimally can only be achieved if you're in your optimal state

the poker community is creaming itself over the mental game of poker by jared tendler, and i agree...it really is an excellent book if you're already an established player just looking to sort out your mindset and emotions

I've noticed that I do have certain peak hours, usually after 8 pm before 4 am. I'll try applying the other techniques and habits. Thanks!
