Hi guys! I have been a long term lurker on this forum but this is my first post!

I have decided to start a blog/challenge thread just so I can set some goals and be accountable! I am 33 and currently living in Scotland though originally from Newcastle Upon Tyne!

I am currently playing 20nl on Ipoker and feel like the games are very beatable! Add to this the excellent RB returns available and I really need some motivation to get some volume in!

So I am going to set myself my first short term goal of playing 10k hands this week (Monday-Sunday) starting tonight! 10k probably does not seem a great deal to some of you guys but with a full time job it is a fairly substantial goal for me!

My issue in the past has always been being far too results orientated so my plan is to simply play through and not check my results at all! I know that I am most definitely playing over 500 hands per hour 3 tabling so I simply plan to play 20 hours then check all results and RB and post my weeks results at the end! I will post daily volume updates of course! Quite simple really but like I say I hope this just gives me the push I need to stay motivated!

Fitness

My second main interest is fitness! I have been slacking in the gym recently also due to a lack of motivation so I plan to blog about my fitness journey also! Not only to motivate but also to add a little variety to the blog!

I currently weigh 179.4lb and my goal is to get down to 167lb! I will be following a science based approach often referred to in the media as IIFYM (hate that term)!

Starting daily macros will be:

160 grams of protein
160 grams of carbs
40 grams of fat

Zero cardio and 5 weight sessions

I feel that I am quite well educated in terms of fitness so if any noobs have any questions I will be more than happy to help if I can!

Final point is that the one thing that really affects my motivation/productivity is alcohol! So I plan to stay away from alcohol completely! Easier said than done but 8 days and counting

Played a bit last night and I was pleasantly surprised on how many hands per hour I can average playing 3 tables of speed poker! I am averaging 700 hands per hour rather than the 500+ I estimated! This means that 10k hands should be fairly easily achievable this week! I am going to stick to my initial plan of playing 20 hours though so I should get closer to 15k hands! Played for a total of 2 hours and 5 minutes last night!

I also looked over my database last night and did some calculations! I am actually receiving 5e per hour just from rakeback alone by 3 tabling which is a great deal more than expected! Add to this that there is no tax in the UK and that is not too far from 7e per hour from a 'job'! Hopefully I can add a small win rate to this and it will provide a decent little hourly return!

Fitness

First day on diet yesterday and I was actually a little under on my macros! I hit 161g of protein, 123g of carbs and 25g of fats! I left too many calories until late in the day and just wasn't hungry! Need to plan a little better but no disaster! Will just have 10% more carbs and fats today and tomorrow!

Was in the gym at 7am this morning and decided to start with a leg session! The compound movement for the session was safety bar squats! Just 15kg per side for 4 sets of 12 to ease back into it a little! Followed up by:

Straight leg deadlifts
Seated hamstring curls
Leg extension
Decline ab crunches

So far so good

No alcohol count = 9 days
