Hello 2+2! I am a business owner and part time player w/ a passion for MTT poker. I moved out to NV after graduating from University and have been living here for the past couple years. Here is a little background data

Starting Bankroll (5/5/20): $500
Ending Bankroll (6/11/20): $954.45
Games Played: 83
Cashed: 17/83 (20%)
Average Buy-in: $6.50

Website: WSOP.com

Studying time: 5-6 hours a week on average

Studying medium: My GF bought me 3-months subscription to PokerCoaching Premium. I honestly really enjoy the software and was a very big losing player before I restarted in May. Another important thing I did before starting this graph was purchase an hr of coaching from a good coach overseas. The most important thing I gained from it was learning to write hand histories and set realistic goals when I restart.

Biggest leaks
1. Before the restart my biggest leak was BRM. I used to play ~$20BI and ran it up before the skill difference caught up to me. I was up to $1050 from a $500 deposit and quickly crashed and burned. I got down to $150 and took time away to focus on my business
2. I have a mental illness (OCD). I have somehow manage to curb the most severe of symptoms w/ diet, exercise and time management. It’s still hard to stop from doing rituals everyday, but I have used my type A behavior to my advantage to accomplish a lot in life. It used to get stressful when I played poker. After dropping down in stakes I was able to curb my tilting behavior. The money doesn’t

Overall Goals
1. I want to move up in stakes. I’m going to try to get my roll to about $2000 before I play $10ABI tournaments.
2. I want to steadily increase volume. I have a lot on my plate w/ my business, but things are getting more streamlined and I am slowly freeing up blocks of time to play more and more.
3. I would like to meet new friends. Preferably ones that play on other sites HAHA, but honestly I’m not too picky. I am pretty computer savvy and do meetings for my work, so would definitely be down for some group study (online/in-person).

Hero bets 5bb into 16.25bb pot, UTG+2 calls, Hero WINS w/ K-High Flush

Hand #2 (8-Handed)
Hero (UTG+1|69.4bb) opens to 2.3bb, everyone folds
* Preflop: What about my raise size pre? I usually raise 2-3bb w/ my entire range from every position. What is everyone’s opinion on playing this type of pre-flop strategy? Benefits and Negatives?

UTG+2 (15.5bb) limps, HJ (48bb) raises to 4bb, Hero (SB|27bb) raises to 17bb w/ KdKc, Everyone folds

Flop comes 6c3sQh
Action checks through
Turn comes 6c3sQhKh
SB checks, BB checks, Hero jams 12.6bb into 11bb pot, UTG+1 calls w/ Ks9d
* Preflop: Is the min open ok in this spot?

==================================================

If anyone has some suggestions on how to display these hand histories so they can be better understood please feel free to correct me. Like I said earlier I paid for an hour of coaching from a reputable coach to learn how to write them. Not perfect, but I’m getting better.

===============================================
What’s up guys. I prepared an update. I have been playing OK for the most part. I have been getting it in ahead in spots, but the run outs have not been good to me. I try to only put the hand histories that involve major mistakes, and not just bad beats. Regardless I enjoy the process.

Starting Bankroll (5/5/2020): $500
Ending Bankroll (6/14/2020): $916.16
Games Played: 91
Cashed: 18/91 (19%)
Average Buyin: $6.58

Website: WSOP.com

Study Time: Still 5-6 hours a week

Biggest Leaks:
1. I still need to work on my pre-flop 3-bet sizing. I am finding myself just 3-bet jamming 18-20bb Preflop. I am having a hard time playing between 15-25bb profitably.
2. Mental game: I mentioned in my last post that I have had a hard time w/ mental illness. Sometimes I will overthink spots and end up making bad plays. I was talking to a friend and he recommend to cut down on Gluten, and tbh I am loving the way I feel. I find myself w/ a much clearer head even after eating a large meal. I bought some gluten-free alternatives to my normal foods and just eat clean each meal.

Goals for this week:
1. I WILL INCREASE VOLUME. Damn it I just have a lot on my plate. I know I need to put in more volume if I want to actually make progress on this. If I can continue having a positive ROI (69% right now) then I just need to continue to play more MTTs.
2. Need to figure out how to play more than 2 tiles at once. Can someone help me with this? I am using windows 10 with the “snap window” feature. Even when I toggle the function on/off I am still unable to display more than 2 tables at once. Can someone help me out here????
==================================================
Game #2 $5, $200 KO
Hand #1 (8-handed)
UTG+1 (100bb) limps, LJ (92bb) limps, HJ (131bb) raises to 4bb, Hero (CO|90bb) calls, UTG+1 rejams for 100bb, LJ folds, HJ calls, Hero Calls off his remaining 85.7bb w/ 77s
Board runs out 9s5d5cKhKd
Hero loses to UTG+1 who limp jammed w/ pocket aces.
* Preflop: I definitely punted off my stack w/ 77s here. I didn’t expect UTG+1 to limp-rejam w/ Aces. Just felt I was in a race. It was a bad play overall w/ HJ making the call.
==================================================
Game #3 $3, $600 Turbo [Rebuy]

Hand #1 (8-handed)
LJ opens to 2.8bb, Hero jams 13.1bb w/ QJs, LJ snap calls w/ ATo
We lose and rebuy on accident lol
* Preflop: This should have been a call at best. Too loose!!

Hand #2 (7-handed)
UTG+2 (21bb) open to 2.75bb, Button (32bb) calls, Hero (BB|22bb) calls w/ KTs
Flop comes JhTdTc
Hero checks, UTG+2 checks, Button bets 1bb into 9.75bb pot, Hero jams 20bb, UTG+2 Folds, Button calls w/ KsJc
Board runs out JhTdTsAs5c
*Hero wins w/ Trips
* PostFlop: I think I missed some value from UTG+2 by jamming over such a small raise. I may get two aggressive w/ my strong made hands at times

Hand #3 (Final Table w/ 7 Left)
Hero (HJ|14.1bb) opens to 2bb w/ Tc9c, BB(18.6bb) calls
Flop comes 2s2c8s
BB checks, Hero bets 1.6bb into 5.5bb pot, BB raises to 3.2bb, Hero calls
Turn comes 2s2c8sJc
BB leads out for 12bb, Hero calls it off
*We don’t improve. BB wins with K8o*
* Post Flop: Is it ok to C-bet this small here? Should I just jam
* Turn: Is it ok to call of my life here? We have OESD and FD outs ~22 outs 44% equity?? (Also had any T or 9 to beat his 8)
* Needed to call of 8.8bb for a chance to win 29.7bb
================================================== Game #3 $3, $1500 Daily [Rebuy, Addon]

Hand #1 (7-handed)
HJ (49bb) opens to 2.5bb, Hero (51bb) 3-bets to 7.9bb, Blinds fold, HJ calls
Flop comes 9c9sTd
HJ checks, Hero jams 43.33bb into 18bb pot, HJ folds
* Preflop: I think my 3-bet sizing was a little too large
* PostFlop: I was targeting his overpairs, but this was just a bad overbet jam w/ the rockets

Hand #2
UTG+1 (25bb) opens to 2bb, Hero (LJ|47bb) calls w/ AdKh
Flop comes TdJhKc
LJ checks, Hero bets 2.1bb into 6.7bb pot, LJ check raises to 6.25bb, Hero 4-bets to 12.4bb, LJ jams all-in for 23bb, Hero calls it off.
Board runs out TdJhKc7h7s
*Hero loses to JJ
* Preflop: I should have 3-bet to find out where I was. Just way too passive w/ AKo
* PostFlop: I punted this one here. It think I should have called the check raise and then played my turns accordingly
==================================================
If anyone is able to display more than 2 tables at once w/ Windows 10 please let me know. I am looking forward to playing more tables and get in some more volume.

If anyone here has similar goals as I do I would love to talk more and help each other improve. WSOP bracelet events are starting next month and I want to be sharp for the traffic increase. Anyone who took the time to read and provide feedback I really appreciate it. GL and have a great week everyone!!

Hello 2+2. I’m here with another update. I don’t want to be one of those guys that makes a couple of posts and then quits. Want to go ahead and post some MTT hands where I feel like I was making major mistakes. Here is an update on my progress.

Starting Bankroll (5/5/20): $500
Ending Bankroll (6/22/2020): $1081.43
Games Played: 111
Cashed: 22/111 (19)
Average Buy-in: $6.70

Website: WSOP.com

Study Time: ~3 hours this week

Goals for this week:
1. Study a lot. I am going to try to complete the 30-day tournament challenge on PokerCoaching.com. I am on day 10, so far. Each lesson is extremely complex, but I really take my time and make good notes using a dual screen set up. I would definitely recommend PCP to someone that still has a lot of leaks like me.
2. Keep eating healthy: I have been gluten free for ~14 days now. Feeling amazing. I am going on a vacation this weekend, so the goal is not to eat any gluten. My friend is coming to Vegas and we are going to be staying at the Flamingo. Gonna play a lot of video poker for fun. Lol.

Alright enough with my nonsense. Here are some hands that I have played where I felt I had real trouble playing optimally.
================================================== =======
Game #8 $5, $1000 Deepstack Turbo [R]

Hand #1
UTG (26.5bb) opens to 3.6bb w/ AdQc, Hero (BB|39bb) calls
Flop comes As7cAc
UTG bets 1bb into 8.75bb, Hero 3-bets to 7.3bb pot, UTG folds
* Flop: 3-bet was too large on this board!! SCARED PLAY w/ Trips

Hand #2
UTG (9.3bb) opens to 2.8bb, Hero (BB|18bb) 3-bets for 9.2bb effective, UTG (9.3bb) calls it off w/ AA.
* Preflop: This was a flat call all day here
================================================== =======
Game #9 $10, $7500 Daily Turbo [R&A]

Hand #1
Button (51bb) limps, SB (35.5bb) calls, Hero (BB|34bb) checks w/ 6c7c
Flop comes Ts4c5s
SB checks, Hero bets 1bb into 3bb pot, Button calls, SB calls
Turn comes Ts4c5s2d
SB bets 1bb into 6bb pot, Hero calls, Button 3-bets to 10bb, SB calls, Hero calls
River comes Ts4c5s2d
SB checks, Hero checks, Button bets 36bb into 36bb pot, SB folds, BB folds
* Flop: What is the appropriate bet sizing into this spot with Straight and flush draws here?
* Turn: Maybe should have turned up the aggression here.
================================================== =======
Game #10 $5, $1000 Daily Deepstack [R]

Hand #1
Hero (HJ|56bb) opens to 2.4bb w/ KK, CO (131bb) calls, BB (156bb) calls
Flop comes 3hJh6d
BB checks, Hero bets 4.9bb into 7.75bb pot, CO calls, BB calls
Turn comes 3hJh6dKc
BB checks, Hero bets 13bb into 22bb pot, CO folds, BB folds
* Flop: Flop bet is ok to keep Jx, A6s, 2hearts, etc in
* Turn: Probably should have bet smaller than 2/3 pot to keep worse hands in. Your 2 heart hands may have 14% (Discounting a 6) to outdraw you.

Hand #2
UTG (47bb) opens to 3bb, LJ (160bb) calls, Hero (HJ|89bb) calls w/ Ad5d
Flop comes 2dTh7d
UTG bets 5.25bb into 10.5bb pot, Hero calls
Turn comes 2dTh7dTc
UTG checks, Hero checks
River comes 2dTH7dTc8d
UTG bets 10.5 bb into 21bb pot, Hero jams for 39bb effective, UTG snap calls and wins with a full house**
* Preflop: GTO error. A5s is 3-bet as a bluff
* River: Should have called. On a paired board I am only getting called by better hands when I rejam here.
================================================== =======
Game #11 $5, $2000 Daily Deepstack Turbo [R&A]

Hand #1
Hero (SB|25bb) opens w/ Kh4c, BB rejams for 32bb, Hero Folds!!
* Preflop: GTO error. K4o here is a call AT BEST from the SB
Hand #2
CO (107bb) opens to 2.2bb, Hero (B|32bb) calls w/ AsJh, SB & BB fold
Flop comes 3sTcKs
CO bets 3.8bb into 8.75bb pot, Hero rejams for 38bb, CO snap calls w/ ATo
* Preflop: GTO error!! AJo is a PURE ALL-IN here. I may have been able to push opponent off of ATo
================================================== =======

I ended up blinking a 6-max turbo my last game, so I feel like my off table study is starting to play off. I am honestly just trying to play ABC poker, and adjust accordingly. Taking lots of notes on my Opponents and starting to make player specific adjustments based on their ranges.

Thanks again for taking the time to read my thread. Anyone who took the time to read and provide feedback I really appreciate it. GL and have a good week everyone.
