I consider myself to be a reasonably good player and was able to beat NLH100 and PLO100 for a period a couple of years ago. I cashed out and have never recovered. Mostly because I would start to make money then spew and go to a bigger game and not be able to run hot enough to stick with it. Example I ran up a Bodog account to $1000 playing PLO from a $25 free deposit from an affiliate site. I just kept going to larger stakes and then eventually busted playing PLO600. I was planning on cashing out once I had cleared the required points but ala was 12 points short.

I am using this Journal to post results, graphs, and hands for people to help me with. One of my major problems has been I have had a significantly down sloping showdown winnings line over the course of my time and a wicked looking red line that slopes straight up. I'm not really sure how to correct this other than just not calling when I know I'm beat which I do way too much. Obviously need to clean that leak up.

Also it would be nice to be able to get this BR high enough so I can draw a bit of money out because I am doing a internship from January to April where I wont recieve any pay. I will be surviving by reffing hockey games at night which will take away from my poker. as my name here suggests I am a currency trader and may be a bit distracted by playing less tables to also do research for my trading. Kinda weird I never spew with my trading by taking on larger position sizes but I do with Poker????

My current BR is $29.02
BR MGMT Rules:

1) I will play 2NL until I have reached 20 BI for the next highest stakes which is $100. This will continue with each stake going up. I may nit this up more as I go higher though. when I reach 20 BI at the next level I will have a 2 BI stop-loss for that level

2) Review each session after it is complete and try and get help with trouble spots by posting here on 2p2.

3) Play no more than 6 6max NL tables at a time. I have and a problem with this in the past because I have played up to 24 FRG before and was moderately successful but I don't get any better and am basically just a bot.

4) Dunno how much volume I will be able to get in but should be able to ascertain my capabilities in volume after Ive tried to put some more in.

Gonna go ahead and play some here tonight and post tonight or tomorrow morning.

Played a long 2356 hand session today and had another bad start to it. I was able to come back and make it a positive session. Weird thing is that my HEM says I made $2.67 for the session but my bankroll on PSTARS say that it is only at $23.15??? Could my HEM not be charging enough rake? that just seems weird. any help figuring that out would be great. I also reached 4000 yearly VPP's and received a $10 bonus that I will add to my roll here. I was also way up EV wise so the results will come here.

Hands from todays session: 2356
Total Hands: 3342

EV of todays session: $10.62
Total EV:$7.69

Todays results: +$2.67 but actually only +$0.13 plus $10 bonus

New bankroll: $33.15

heading off here to play another session will kepp posted.

PS. Also is there a faster way to post hands other than having to go through the entire hand history with PSTARS. I have HEM.

Just played a 1002 hand session and didn't play the best. Had a spewy fish who sucked out on me twice for 100 BB and kinda tilted away most of the profits I had. So I called it quits to stop the bleeding. It was a positive session for me though overall so I cant complain.

Also can anyone tell me how to copy hands from my HEM 1 to these forums?? I did what it told me to do on the HEM faq's but that didn't work.

Its a New Year and that means that there has to be time for new goals for me to stay on track with my BR MGMT and continuing to improve my game.

I wont go for an annual goal but will do monthly ones for now.

Volume in January of 15,000 hands of 6max NL.
    Beat 2NL for 8BB/100 hands.
    take shots at 5NL.

May up the volume goal depending on how much work im going to be doing and studying etc.

    Study goals:

Put 30 hours in for my CFA Level 1 exam in June.

Finish my final online undergraduate class so I can graduate with my degree in june.

    Health goals:

Get membership at local gym and go everyday after work and as much as possible on off days. so gym 12 times.

This guy was such a donk and was pissed that I kept three betting him so I knew he had a garbage hand. He atleast knew enough to show aggression. My biggest mistake was in my opinion not betting flop hard. on that flop I thought at best He had a jack but I assumed he would bet out and I would check raise him.

Just a pointer but even if he is 4betting with garbage, 68s shouldn't ever be calling a 4bet. Calling 1/4 of your stack with SC isnt going to be profitable. GL.

Changed my session up a bit by moving it from my computer screen to my 32 inch tv screen. this helped me up the # of table I could play I mostly played 8 6max but at on point was up to 12 tables. as always started the session off down and came back to make a nice positive session. may continue to go with 8 tables. makes putting in more volume so much easier and 8 isn't much different than 6 for me now.

And my winning session streak is over at 8. Was down quite a bit more at one point but was able to turn it around. Probably could have gotten back in the black but couldn't continue to play as I had to run was in the black for EV so the results over time will be positive. session was yesterday. haven't had the chance to play today but wanted to get this post in. I don't work Fridays so I should be able to get in some studying and homework in as well as some serious volume... and get to the gym!

Well hadn't played for a few days and played last night before bed and ran absolutely horrible. Looking at HEM I was 75+% on the turn 6 times and got it in good only to be sucked out on. but hey that happens. End of the session was tilting for sure and spewed 1 buy in for sure. Lost over half my winnings in January, gonna have to grind out of it plain and simple.

I havent done as much work on these other goals as I would have liked too. However I am doing a significant amount of time applying for entry level graduate finance jobs. Mostly trading and Investment banking. Also to Oil & Gas companies because all the huge ones have big offices in Calgary. Same with Investment Banks. So not as concerned about lack of progress in those goals. However, would still like to meet them this month.

Tilted too much on this one definitely.

Need to play less tables. Had the one good session with 12 tables but the last two have been disastrous. It seems Like I get it in on three different tables and lose all of them. This is the time where I would usually tilt off the rest of my roll. I'm gonna not do that this time... Hopefully! May play again tonight if I get my HEM back up and running.
