Just realised I posted the same table twice.

Here are my results for the year after July:

This is a bomb pot on 2/4

I am going to have a tiny betting range on this flop. This hand makes a great slow play because I have a pair which blocks a board pairing turn. Another good reason to check here is because the BU has an SPR 1 and is incentivised to bet the flop wider than normal.

On the turn, having a flush draw gives me another opportunity to slow play. Again, the BU is incentivised to bet with his short stack. Instead, the CO bets (think he is out of line with this bet) and here I can raise all in if I want to. But I choose to call because I'm going to have some hands that check/call the turn that will likely check/fold the river if it bricks out. So I want to have a balanced river range and keep this hand in.

Luckily for me, villain improves on the river goes for some thin value with a medium strength two pair and I get to jam all in. He is getting nearly 8-1 on the river after I jam and luckily again he can't find a fold. I don't imagine I'm ever bluffing there.

I ran really good in this hand in so many ways.

Another bomb pot I want to look at.

I flop bottom two pair on a flush draw board, and, the top card is not the suit which allows top pair + nut flush draw. Is jamming the flop a mistake?

EV = fold equity + equity when called

Turns out the jam is highly profitable but the EV comes from just getting it through from folds. Having 2p blocks the 2p and sets that call. When called I'm pretty screwed so need to hope no one wakes up with a hand

Last month I cashed out some online poker funds and ever since then I've been losing. I left myself around 10x buy ins to keep playing but I lost all those. Then I had to upload and decided to do $400 only but ended up doing that three times. Because I hate uploading I've had to move down stakes. Im now playing a lot more 1/2 and have cut out the 3/6 until I can run it up again.

Here is my graph for the first 5 days of August:

Majority of it is legit run bad but I've been reviewing hands and have noticed a lot of mistakes. A common mistake I have been making lately is paying off too light on the river. Here is an example, this one is a bit tricky to play:

        Yatahay Network - $2 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha Hi - 6 players
Hand converted by Holdem Manager 3

        SB: $145.00 (72.5 bb)
        BB: $88.00 (44 bb)
        Hero (UTG): $176.00 (88 bb)
        MP: $160.00 (80 bb)
        CO: $196.90 (98.5 bb)
        BTN: $613.67 (306.8 bb)

SB posts $1.00, BB posts $2.00

        Pre Flop: (pot: $3.00) Hero has J A A 6
Hero raises to $7.00, 2 folds, BTN calls $7.00, 2 folds

        Flop: ($17.00, 2 players) 4 3 7
Hero checks, BTN bets $8.50, Hero calls $8.50

        Turn: ($34.00, 2 players) K
Hero checks, BTN bets $17.00, Hero calls $17.00

        River: ($68.00, 2 players) 5
Hero checks, BTN bets $68.00, Hero calls $68.00

        Results: $204.00 pot ($2.76 rake)
        Final Board: 4 3 7 K 5

        Hero shows J A A 6: (One Pair, Aces)
        (Pre 69%, Flop 2%, Turn 0%)

        BTN shows T A 6 5: (Straight, Seven High)
        (Pre 31%, Flop 98%, Turn 100%)

        BTN wins $201.00

I estimate the downswing to be around 75% due to variance and around 25% bad play. The good thing is that it's made me review my game more thoroughly. I was definitely too complacent during my upswing and I stopped studying so much. Plus my play got sloppy.

Pretty confident my latest study is gonna help me go on a nice upswing.

I cant just post good hands all the time.

This river call is atrocious. I expected to see A7 for chop hi and for me to lose the low. I dont even know why I called - must be tired.

I also had a feeling that the river is just a call. Yep massive misplay from me.

The last live PLO tournament I played I made some terrible mistakes and burnt 3x buy ins. That was 1 year ago.

This week I travel to WPT Gold Coast to play the $5k PLO event for the opportunity to make up for last year.

My game is in much better shape this time around. Recently I have found some leaks such as preflop where I have been playing too loose in some spots and too tight in others. Fixing these mistakes will serve me well when playing the $5k.

        Preflop mistakes I found:

        1. Folding too much from the BB vs SB opens
        2. Calling too wide from the BU and CO vs EP opens
        3. Not opening BU wide enough

For the month of August I won $3.5k playing online, with most of that coming from Big O!

For 2023, I'm now up 11k with half of that coming from Big O. All I did was start playing the game because it was fun for something different. I ran a few hands in Odds Oracle and felt I had an edge. Very surprising to have done well in that game. It might also be luck so I have to not get ahead of myself.

I've now made 3 poker videos on youtube. Although they are fun to make they are a bit time consuming. Plus the production quality is a bit **** and I cbf putting in the effort to improve in that area so I don't think I'll make any more.

That's it for now. My next update will probably after the WPT $5k PLO event but I may post something in the middle of the series.
