Throughout career have always thought about the glory bluffs, the 200bb jams on the river, the check raises, the triple check raises! Over the last week I've basically only thought about shallow stacks, I really have loved thinking about them and playing them. I used to skip turbos, I think in this exact blog I posted that I'd never play a turbo again

Anyway today came 14th in hot 75, 11th in 215 turbo and then chopped the hot 44 hu for 7.5k when I was short stack against a good reg which felt good.

Hand 1 http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...396_10B14E1C3E

Q high call vs huge river shove.

Hand 2 http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...903_1A68087349

Failed bluff in 109r, this is on the exact pure bubble. I don't mind my play. Think its a spot he's got to sigh fold alot. I obviously get to the river with ALOT OF BLUFFS. Minces in this 109r is like 650 though so its a huge consideration for him.

Hand 3 http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...787_8FD0E951A4

Like turn lead here, he will check back ak on lots of run outs, AQ especially, but they get stubborn vs the lead

Hand 4 http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...365_E8F9D247A3

Fun hand vs lookoutdudes. people think they can only jam/fold here in turbos. definitely not the case.

Hand 5 http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hand...293_EC616E3916

Hate villains call here, won't call him out, but super clear fold imo. but i jammed because of who it was.

Spent yesterday at the gym with prosky/european/ben and then played fifa and casually watched horses etc together. Was pretty fun. Its nice having people around who drive and push you on but also are really supportive to what you do too, I like it. I'm thinking of cancelling vegas to stay in Budapest this summer, but really unsure.

Going to play the 50k turbo in Monaco which I'm looking forward to. One downside is that its on a Sunday. I'm staying in Monaco with Carster he's very very good, especially at cap and shallow stack games, so looking forward to chatting to him a lot too.

Somebody asked me earlier what else do I like to do besides poker. And I was like errrrrrrrrrrrrr, kind of embarrassing/regretful that poker is really such a big thing in my life. I'd really say it consumes like 95% of everything I do/think about/want to do/am interested in. It is good to have balance, I know that, its just tough you know? I really am envious of people who live in areas where there's no other poker players and people don't even know what poker is. I'm surrounded, well I've surrounded myself with poker players. I know its my choice, I'm really happy about it and understand that its a big ingredient to my success. It's just tough you know? Like if I want to play football matches are on a Sunday, most "muggles" work midweek then go out on the weekend etc, my 2 days off are Wednesday/Friday.

Update on our stable is really really great news, every single one of our guys is crushing really hard, they all come to our coaching and I really believe our coaching is the best for MTT's out there on any site/stable etc. Most of them will be gradually moving up stakes and its exciting to see guys we've developed from small stakes small winners to high stakes crushers. Big shout out to gil3000 who just consistently crushes and is up over 120k this year. We're starting a "small stakes stable" which will have 10-20 guys playing smaller stakes and gil3000 will be running it and coaching them and helping bring through people to the "main" stable. Really happy how thats going. In other news I made an investment with a forum member that I'm really unhappy about and I think is very suspicious and very possibly scummy. Hoping its not the case though, will give it a couple of weeks to sort itself out before posting anything though.

Lastly, downloaded spotify today instead of using youtube, way preferred it. Listened to "Whatever people say I am, that is what I'm not" which was my favourite album for 2 years when I was at uni. I think having something you're comfortable with is really good rather than listening to new music, maybe just for me, I'm not sure.

Sorry for all the rambling anyway! Good night xo

Hi pads, I'm a fan.

U say u study a lot. How does ur study session look like?
I usually save some HH's, run em through HEMresources or CRev, discuss with some ppl, plus the occasional mtt review, but I feel like I'm missing something. I don't watch vids because I can't really bring it up to watch em, feel like I never learn something there and feels like a waste of time.

Do u like villains cbet in Hand5?

Keep the posts / HH's coming, and best of luck.

Pads its impressive how you are crushing. With all kind of respect though it seems like you run incredibly hot in the later stages of the tournies to make so many final tables?

I am not close to your skilllevel, but binked 5 r couple of weeks ago. Then i came topp 25 in Sunday Storm and hot 16.50 last sunday-lost big flips in both of them to be knocked out wich dissapointed me.

This week i also came deep in 3 other big tournies only to lose important flips when it matters the most.

I am sure you know the feeling and frustration and would appreciate if you could write some words/tips about how you work through these kind of stretches.

Thanks

i dont know why people think this. i play really a lot and i try not to tilt and play as good as i can/review a lot/improve so naturally will go deeper than if i didnt study/didnt get better/punted stacks.

take yesterday for example, i came last 2 tables 265ko, 12th hot75, 11th 215 turbo, most would give up/punt but i kept grinding and in the 1500 runner field (hot44) i played really good and focused 1 tabling it for ages.

there was a hand where i raised 77 utg and hj jammed for 10bbs and i folded, i think most would be oi and jam.

sorry if sound arrogant just tilts me abit that people always say about how i run so well. i started the year with 40k+ downswing, 10th in big109 aa <t9s for 4x average and lots of other deep runs. i kept playing 6x/week and studying 3x/week.

everything is in your own hands, not the poker gods.

also if you play well to have 200k chips instead of 150k chips then when you flip with somebody for 150k, you can still spin that 50k up too.

my style of play actually gets very few showdowns and very few all ins. i play pre flop weirdly and different in a way that it decreases variance hugely.

Sorry if i made assumptions on faulty knowleadge Pads- i didnt mean to talk about things (your stats) wich i know nothing about for a fact. Its just my impression from what i am reading that you gets a very high percentage of final tables.

When it comes to my losing flips lately i really cant see how i could avoided it. I agree with you and try to avoid flips for my tourney life as far as i can. But when i am shortstacked and ships 11 BB from the button with AQ and gets called by 1010 i dont see how i could have done it different.

Or when i ship JJ UTG for 11 BB and run into big stack on button with AK.

Just keep grinding hard. I've cashed super Tuesday like 3/40 times but I keep playing the 8r to get experience so when j get to the final table of the Super Tuesday one day I'm prepared and experienced and understand all the icm spots. you can't get to the biggest final table of your year and then be underprepared that's why football clubs have pre season friendlies before the first game of the season.

Good advice, thanks. Your many final tables is an inspiration also no doubt.

I have a dream about shipping a big tourney like Big 22 or Hot 16.50 on sundays and hope i will make it some day. For a player who have grinded turbo sit and goes and live cash games for many years that is quite a big dream to make a huge tourney score.

Nobody said that you are not a good player and im sure you`re doing a lot to improve your game and learn more everyday, but yes, you sound arrogant when you say that it`s only your credit for winning so much .

You, like any other decent player know that variance is there for all poker players, but is just hard to admit it and when you`re running hot you think that you`re the best and only because of your game you win so much .

You don`t have to prove to anyone anything, but if you could show us a just a single tournament where you won big and you didn`t gave any badbeat then i will just agree with you, but most of online tournaments in the last phases have a lot of 15-20 bbs stacks on average and is hard to not have flips , even sunday million .

Im nobody related to you in poker world, but just be grateful of what poker offered you and don`t assume all credits, because sometimes variance is poker gods

Good luck at the tables !

Gotta say, as a huge Pads fan - you do sound a tiny bit arrogant/overconfident at some points. I'm not hating at all, I believe you are most likely the best online mtt player out there right now and it's all thanks to your super hard work which is awesome, but you do sound a liiiittle bit cocky at times.

Still, you've earned it and can act however the **** you like, you're the end boss and you do give back to the community so much that noone should blame you for stuff like this.

Keep crushing.

regardless of how well you play, you run like a ****ing god. it's not a negative thing... but the fact that you smash mouses and whine like a bitch after how ******edly well you've run is beyond hilarious.

again, not bashing your skill, i don't play with you and i don't know how you play. but you're a bit of a joke in the way that you whine about bad beats when i highly doubt anyone has run as well online as you in the last 18mo.

keep thinking it's all in your hands though even though it is 100% not, maybe it's a better mentality to have.
