160 std dev is probably a reasonable # if all your hands were PLO4 and 6-handed, but as you introduce other PLO variants and especially lots of 2-4 handed play, then 200+ becomes more accurate.

I'd guess a lot of PLO pros have experienced a couple runs that they don't think are mathematically fair as edges dwindle.

I had been a consistent ~8 BB/100 winner at .5/1 to 2/4 PLO for about 2 years until late 2022, mostly on the apps, but now it's a **** show. I'm currently in a run where it feels like I'm getting smacked down constantly by variance, like 20 winning sessions out of my last 75, but I accept that it could just be like a 10th percentile run over these 250k hands.

20 buyin swings definitely super common and standard for 6max PLO. Winrate/std dev also aren't static.

What would you guess the std dev of a mix 5/6 card plo played both 6m and SH?

Abt 2k away from 2/5, got rivered for abt 3k today in a couple big tournament spots. Confidence is still high, had a small 20bi downswing that I grinded out of pretty quick.

Won abt 2k so up to 2/5 after today… have some exams so not gonna go too hard but excited to give 2/5 another shot!

Second day 2/5 broke even, actually up at 2/5 but down a bit at 1/2 lol. Honestly 2/5 might actually be easier than 1/2 on global, I see why ppl say the site is so soft now. 2k reg 3betting me 5678ss BTN vs MP, 2k reg 3betting me A643ss(!) BB vs EP! Probably one was on tilt, and the other maybe just wanted to gamble idk haha.

The tt97 hand looks a bit spewish, but who cares you got there and you mentioned it yourself. Now that you are finally at a place where you feel like you belong I would suggest that you look into your tilt issues for real. PLO is a ruthless game and one tilt'ish session can drop you 10k right back, no mercy. Like the "Was on mega tilt this hand and just spazzed out but rivered quads" is just not going to cut it for a professional. There is no justification for this kind of thinking. Best of luck! Tbh it looks like mega spew but the idea is solid / solver approved to bet set no flush blocker sometimes in this spot. Basically fold out some stuff and then hit boats in bigger pots, get some value etc. I like the line and my logic in game, but combo selection might be imprecise. And yeah global HHs don’t work in non global allowed areas.

Kind of joking abt tilt agree it has no place in the game of a professional.

Finishing up finals, plan for near future is as follows

-Continue to mop up all the money on global 100s-500s

-Deposit on ignition once global withdrawal hits and play good 500s games

-Look for games running between the other sites I am on rn

-Continue studying, building new ideas I can use to crush ppl in game and refining my accuracy in common spots

-Make money, start to shot take 5/T after winning roughly 10k more

-Build roll to grind WSOP in May/July

If results suddenly fall and I move back down to 200s, similar ideas just will have to re-assess WSOP ideas potentially depending on how things look (potentially finding backing idk). What won't change is my study or approach to game selection.

Feeling that I have identified some stuff that works well, going to remember this feeling throughout the next downswing. Just try to remember that I know what works, just have to keep my head up.


Also, shoulder impingement suddenly healed a couple days ago. Back into the gym! Super stoked.

Abt 5.5k from starting to selectively look for 5/T games... It will not change much. 5/T obvs doesn't run much, sometimes on Party/Global. Not gonna add 5/T on Ignition right away. For now the focus is continuing to print, study, and crush ppl at 100s-500s. Games will be harder when I add 5/T but I welcome it with open arms.

Thanks - I had a hand goal of 35k in November which I played much more then. Not 100% sure on how many since vast majority is on untracked. But playing ignition 2/5 now so will have more tracked stuff soon. Will post ignition+party graph soon. Part of not caring as much abt results is not checking how much I’m up/down, not even checking ev. So haven’t been importing hands from party or ignition consistently. Just focusing on playing and studying.

Not gonna check results for a while after this, was happy to see like 22bbev at 2.5/5, but if the ev was negative (and it was only over 2k hands) I would have been disappointed, even though it's obviously a meaningless sample either way, just like the 10k hands is also meaningless.
