Weekend was great fun but had to take a day off yesterday cause of hangover. Today I started fresh and played 2,6k hands at first playing nl200 but then started to playing nl100 4tables and nl50 2 tables. I was running great and playing fairly well ended 580 usd up. The 50nl seemed amazingly soft. And 100nl doesn't cause me that much problem anymore but you can always do better!
H1) maybe I'm too much of a station at 200nl my turn check kind of gives the keys for villain to do whatever he wants on the turn. Better solution would probably be to use a small bsize w. our entire range and bet the turn and not go by checking anything OOP. River sucks obv.
H2) here I was debating whether to fold turn. Game theoretically too high in our range but the JT board hits well our cold call range so AK probably shots down on turn and hard to see much else bluffs blocking KQ strongly.
Starting to feel that Snowies postflop suggestions are too loose in quite many spots cause ppl. don't bluff that loose. While I 6 table nl100 and 50 I play quite a bit tighter and just fold spots I feel like it's close but when I play less tables and higher I maybe level myself little too much and make like gametheoretically correct plays which turn wrong cause population is tighter.. Hmm it could also be that I just run little bad in spots like this.
I red this morning answear from the coach I asked about a deal and he said that he is interested in talking about making a deal with me after reading my response of who I am what I play etc. this made me very happy, will see how things go. I've been a bit sceptic of couching because there are quite a lot of coaches who don't beat the games by themselves but he plays and beats the games so i am hopefull.

Good start for the month!
I started grinding round 12pm today 6 tabling and had too much energy. Played quite poorly and made a pretty bad hero call in a spot where I had no reads deepstacked. I dropped the 2 nl50 zoom tables away and continued grinding for a while but run bad and didn't play that well. I went swimming with my brother which made me feel fresh again and hit the tables 4tabling nl100 and played pretty well though I was at first feeling too tired to play and then drink two coffees and after that I felt back having too much energy. Results weren't that bad but I'm still abit worried of being burned out. Hard to get into zone and hard to feel very motivated to grind etc. though I would love to play as much as possible. The nl100 feels easy but nl200 I'm afraid of hitting a downwing and getting tilt problems back. Maybe for no real reason cause I'm now rolled for the 200nl and also better player than I used to be. Probably I should put less volume in & play the 200nl 3 tabling and studying the game which I lately have done quite a lot. I don't want to get too comfortable at nl100.
Todays graph:
H1)
The hand I mentioned. Obv. block the set of fours but the turn sizing is nutty and people don't bluff that much 200bb's deep here espc. nl100.
2)
Was considering checking on the river but then realized that we miss a ton of value from AT and AQ + if he checks back twopairs so clear bet. Sizing? I guess this gets called by AT, AQ reasonably often, potsize gets called by 2pair+ 1/2p looks like vbet it doesn't get bluffraised much and may even get more folds by AT type hands. So I think 2/3 is the way to go. Pretty hard to find enough bluffs ever so that he could call AT imo tbh.
H3)
Almost folded turn but realized that the risk of him overplaying AT is realy a concern and that doesn't need to happen that often. Imo we just raise flop bet the turn with a strong range here he can't realy jam AT for value/protection. 77 is bottom of my flop valuerange and my bluffs are like 89dd KQdd, QJdd not enough combos he should protection jam his top two which is a weak bluffcatcher in this situation.

I lost 1k today. Many coolers but also might be I misplayed some hands. Not that worried about money since I'm very well rolled for the 100nl and have no compelling need to play 200nl. I have mental problems playing nl200 I noticed it today even more than before. I should be folding there a lot more and I seem to take too agressive line too often. Maybe realizing this means that I'm getting to understand better how the population is thinking but have problem adapting.
I think I'll start again doing running in the morning. My heel felt okay so I went running after playing but while I played I had again too much energy and the feeling that I can't get into zone or concentrate and struggled to put even 3k hands in. Had only one coffee today and not going to drink more even I would like to. I'm quite addicted to coffeine and it's not good because I basically have to drink it all day to stay focused and in the afternoon I have coffeine hangover (feel tired but nervous at same time). Would be the best to go running straight after waking up + do some chin ups and stuff have breakfest after that + 1 or two coffees and in the afternoon study poker or if feel tired watch some series or read a book or do something different than poker..

I havent put much volume in but yesterday was -1,2k day playing nl200 + played also live 2,5-2,5 and lost like 400e. Live games are very different than online I'm just getting started to understand what's important there but it's definitely interesting. Yesterday was my second time this week at casino. I haven't made any that huge mistakes it's mainly downswing but anyhow I've been in calling station mode way too much..
H1)
Vs. his flop size should be a fold I think. Optimistic to try get him out an overpair. And I don't think we need here much bluffs or to float wide 3-way.
H2)
This guy likes to raise loose agressively but is probably a winning regular and not a complete idiot so can't expect him to be bluffing the turn which is terrible for us very wide -> Ez. fold
H3)
Here a spazzy guy but the sizings are super obv. + hard for him to get to river with bluffs. Leveled myself to call cause he jammed on last second and I had the flush blocker. Anyhow easy fold even vs. standard sizings & competent regular.
H4) WP.
I'm pretty interested in continueing live games (I'll stick to 1-1 at start and hope to move up soon) My roll is atm. round 10k which isn't that bad but online I'll also move back down to nl100. Even my last 40k hands nl100 are BE so not feeling very confident at the moment. Next week I'll have my first couching session so I'm quite excited about that too.

This guy likes to raise loose agressively but is probably a winning regular and not a complete idiot so can't expect him to be bluffing the turn which is terrible for us very wide -> Ez. fold

Here a spazzy guy but the sizings are super obv. + hard for him to get to river with bluffs. Leveled myself to call cause he jammed on last second and I had the flush blocker. Anyhow easy fold even vs. standard sizings & competent regular.

Nice thread! Subbed and gl!
Thanks I apprechiate it!
Played yesterday 3k hands I was a bit tired and pretty much B-game all day and
ended up breiking even. Today I've played 2,2k hands and 100d up. Not running very well and made one a bit stupid borderline play vs. an solid 22/18 reg I think the 5b bluff is okay but according to snowie I should make it bigger. One thing I want to get to know is the sizings on 4bet pots and how to play those I think that's something I want to ask from the couch once I do the session. I have ton to improve on such spots and I think I was leaking a lot of money by fastplaying & overbluffing on 4-bet pots & bluffcatching too wide which I probably still do. According to snowie I don't make much of a mistake anywhere here but it's just borderline everything..
Couple of days back I explained to a good friend of mine that I've started to win at limits people play as pro / semipro and I wanted that hell a lot before but now once it's done I don't even feel super happy or anything and I'm not sure what I wanna do. He said to me that I just have some sort of crisis with myself. After that I had the losing days and realized I'm not even that good I thought I was... Today I went running and did exercise and the wheather was awesome as it has been for a few days.. I also read the list of things I wrote here that I want to make happen and I'm ready to work on and also came up with new longterm goals. While I was running I remembered the talk with my friend about the crisis and realized he was right and I laughed about it. It's difficult to start something, even more difficult to continue and once you achieve some goals it just doesn't feel that awesome anymore because you just do what you felt like you wanted to do and start thinking is this it? Do I now live the dream? Is there something wrong with me cause I don't smile all the time and be super happy and excited? No, the travel is more important than the destination, it's not a ****ing cliche just the truth. To be happy all the time you need pretty good drugs or some sort of spiritual disorder. No offense against people who have them it's their destiny. By myself I need something clear and concrete to obtain so that I don't doubt myself all the time and struggle to make things happen. I also realized that even making things happen doesn't mean that anything is speacial or at somepoint if I would lets say make myself a self made millionaire highstakes poker pro I would feel great or happy or anything all day long because of what I've achieved. I would need again new goals in life and the circle will probably go on until I die and it's not bad at all I can accept it.
Hope you have a good start this week & gL

I've played pretty well online today but lost 1,2k. Ev -300d had a bunch of bad beats so not that worried. Also lost on monday at livegames mainly cause of being impatient. I think I know how to approach the live games a bit better but I want to concentrate more on onlinepoker, studying & playing a lot! Will stick to 100nl for a while even though I feel that I don't have much tilt problems & losing doesn't feel that bad.
Couple of hands: H1)
Villain 25/22 3-bet 12% (sample only 250 hands) So 3-bet is probably truely between 10-15 I guess. Pre marginal call but okay I guess. From utg I would fold this vs. 3bet.
Flop & turn standard imo.
River his range: AQo/AQss, QJss, KJss, + some 78cc occasionally. + some occasional Ax maybe that we beat. Our range uncapped his range weak + capped but he beats the middle and bottom of our range majority of the time at showdown. What sizing to bet? To turn all of our 99, JJ, JTss to bluff or not to ?
I checked this with equilab + snowie and came to conclusion that we can overbetshove the river pretty wide this would turn hands such KJss to -EV calls for villain. Betting pot he should be folding Qx and calling KJ some of the time. If he doesn't have stuff like 78 in his range he probably should defend some AQss vs. the potsized bet.
He tanked to last sec. and called with QJss which means he is a calling station vs. me. If we bluff with all of our TJss, 99, TT, he can call down to QJss cause it has 60% vs. those bluffs + values. He was right I was bluffing this spot too wide considering my sizing. Or he just is a calling station and didn't knew much about me.
How should we approach later on this type of spot overall? Is overbet showing very +EV here for value + turning all of those hands that are potential bluffs into a bluff or should we mix. between checking some of them + showing all the values. I think the answear is mixing between sometimes giving up + sometimes shoving some bluffs but we still can have quite a few bluffs cause villains range is pretty capped.
How can we exploit villain after he knows we did this as a bluff with a potsized bet? Talking about getting into similar situation.
- Use Potsize bet more for value than as a bluff
- Overbet some bluffs (until getting caught) -> then add values to overbets
- Generally bluff less -> see if adjusts
H2)
Pre I think call is okay, especially a bit deeper. Could consider cold 4-betting but I think the EV of cold 4-bet comes if ppl. play weak against it and that's probably not the case here.
Flop villain knows this hits well cold calling range so he probably checks this quite a lot + I think we can get him of hands like 99 and some Ax suiters, on the river our hand looks like some random AQ, AK that stopped bluffing for some reason on turn so I expect to see villain bluffing some KQ, AQ, often enough that we are correct more often than 25% of time.
H3)
10 points for not doing any stupid raising on the 4-bet pot. I guess I've learned something.
4) Ppl. seem to interpret small donk bets as a weak range. I didn't expect him to bet turn as wide as K9 it's overplay imo.
The JTss how I played how villain played how to adapt etc. I'm still quite a bit flying in the dark and a bit uncertain of even stuff like how
many bluffcombos we should have for each betsize / bluffcatching combos etc. and I guess I need to first start solving stuff like that and then I'll get to understand frequencies better & exploitative plays. Maybe it's not that smart to write about stuff I'm learning because ppl. who play same games will get immadiately the idea of how I think what I do wrong etc. and it's valueable for them but I think that writing things makes me think them through. & understand my thinking errors. I also think people improve & dynamics change so not realy that much to lose for me writing about strategy cause I'm not that good.
Now I'll watch toy gaming part 3. I feel like I'm pretty close at understanding deeper how this game works and once I get there I guess I'll have to analyze a ton of stuff & improve from there. I'll have my first couching session on friday and the TJs hand is one I want to talk about.
One thing I'm verry happy about is that I got over the "low motivation" period + also got over the burnout feeling. I feel like I can't do poker related stuff like 3-4h a day. I'll do it for 6-10h or not at all even the results might be better by putting more quality over quantity. + the livepoker has made me in just a couple of sessions a much more patient player online. Now playing online I feel like having a ton of action all the time!

-1k day again. Mainly badbeats my roll is like 7.5k, at 5k I'll move down to 50nl and play it till I have 10k again. I don't wanna have to do it so hopefully I'll start winning again.
This hand makes me so sick. I should've just shoved the flop. Also hate the preflop like who would ever bluff there anything in these positions 3-way. Worst is I feel like getting just super paranoid maybe ppl. bluffs there w. some A4s type stuff but I guess happens like 2% of the time. What could I have after the action on the river, KK, maybe AKs occasionally (wouldn't call it pre though ever). Who would bluff me off kings then with those Ax stuff or ship AK for value, guess nobody. Maybe I'm paranoid but always when I have the feeling he has the aces it's actually true and I just end up losing. Game theoretically this is a disaster. I don't know.

I felt a bit down yesterday but wanted realy hard to improve. So I spent like 3 hours reading the mental game of poker2 last night, created zone profile, A-game profile, B-game profile, C-game profile of my game. I've red the book before multiple times but somehow when I runbad I just seem to ignore the impact of mental game towards results and start thinking that "I just have to put volume in to get over the downswing" - this basically is the same thing as wanting to win back lost money. That's what gamblers, BE players and losers do. Today I've been much more aware of my concentration, energy levels and so on. Have just played two sessions but winning day (+1k) and only playing A-game and once in a while hitting the zone but then dropping from there cause of realizing I reached it. I feel like I can concentrate better if I eat less carbohydrates. They just get my energy levels too high and I get pumped and feel like I have to do hell a lot of sports. I mean I don't want to go to super low carbo diet or anything but maybe less pasta etc. and more fruits, vegetables and quark.
H1)
The smaller sizings on 3-bet pots are something I don't understand very deeply. River betting big = valueowning myself. Checking = faceup cause he doesn't expect probably a lot of giving up given ranges and actions. Betting small = maybe getting called by weaker hands, maybe getting a bluffshove, sometimes being behind.
The problem is imo our handstrenght here. It also makes this hand pretty marginal. Thinking about it closer checking turn seems better.
H2) Had a small sample of him but it seemed he folds vs. 3b maybe a bit over 50% hard to tell. I guess a little deeper we can 3-bet more polarized - not sure if this should be just a fold vs. 2.5x open. I think every option preflop is okay.
Flop x/call is imo better than any other option. Turn vs. his sizing x/R ? x/c? River board blocks KQ and I can rep AK very well and I don't get there much to bluff with so I guess 1/2p will make him fold twopairs which makes my bet very +EV.
H3) Villain is a solid reg. Do I miss value by 3-betting turn or do I miss more value by just calling? I don't wanna let twopair freeroll equity or shot down river / if he has a hand like KK and diamond falls it will kill action so I guess the 3-bet is better - though it looks like nuts.
H4) What about raising turn? Would it accomplish villain to call w KQ or some draw? Or does it more like shot his bluffs down on the river. How to size river? Was thinking he might end up having stuff like AA, KK which x/call regardless of sizing + we are polarized and like never behind -> ship it.
H5) Turn b much better than x it makes his riv. betting range polarized enough for us to bluffcatch in quite a lot of rivers making it a lot less of a guessing game

Todays CG's +3bin at nl100. Concentrating fairly well, I started to write after every session what I did wrong and what right etc. stuff I learned from the MGOP2 and realized that I should've done it a lot earlier.
I felt fresh in the evening even after CG grind and decided to play a few Scoops: busted fairly early from the 100d and was like 900th something in 250d one. Very tough players and sometimes had to realy guess what buttons I should be pressing. Anyhow in the side I also played few micro MTTs at other sites and managed to get two FT's at pokerstars.FR in 10e and 5e tournaments. Was 2nd at 5e which made 700e and made a splitting deal with fish at the 10e (1400e to both) He suggested a deal and I suggested 50/50 even I had half less chips than him once we started HUP. I felt a little bad after it but it's not my fault she didn't understood much about ICM.
I'll maybe keep playing micro + lowstake MTTs atleast as a side game. There is so much value I don't wanna miss but on the other hand I want to get better at CGs.

I played a bunch of Scoop events yesterday with not much success. Partly playing bad, the problem is that I don't have that solid gameplan for MTTs as for cash. This means that once my concentration drops I start doing stupid stuff. I kind of always have the same problem once I shot higher stakes that I expect the players to be much more loose agressive than they end up truely being. And if they would be super loose agro the best approach would be to play solid TAG get reads etc. not to start playing back OOP super wide and so on.
Cash games seem to be starting to go well again. I've improved in terms of range thinking and learned to give up rivers on spots I used to bet like 90% of the time even though I should be bluffing there maybe 10-15% and vs. calling station population 0%.
H1) It's not like winning a ton more by flop x/back. I've been lately cbetting 1/3p w. pretty much entire range on such textures. I'm not sure whether it's higher EV than to have x/back range.
River I overbet cause it looks like ******ed. If the guy is good he'll get that I made it to look like ******ed betting overbetting w. weak range and make a ton of folds but if he is suspicious we'll get called a ton. If I would wanted to bluff why wouldn't I cbet this flop..
H2) I guess this sizing plan will make more calls at 200 than the more standard bigger turn bet river shove. Not sure if sizings actually matter a lot here.
H3) Probably my biggest pot ever. I knew the guy is tended to tilt so I didn't mind playing him a bit though I'm quite a poor HUP player (lack of experience). His turn call is quite borderline (I would fold AJ there) though I'm not sure how in HUP it goes. According to snowie he should call turn.

Do you coach man?
Hey,
I haven't coached anyone and I don't want to do it untill I do well at 200nl over a large sample. I would feel awful giving bad advice / being uncertain of what I talk about and represent myself as a coach. Anyhow I can check some hands for you or make a sweat session for free. If you interested pm. me your skype.

Few days back I marked hands I wanted to ask a coach about what should I do but now I pretty much know it by myself on those hand so I had to find new ones. I think it's very important to have an open mind while playing and also while looking at hands and analyzing them. Otherwise I overthink or think somehow obsessively that I have to do something not to lose the pot which makes me do a lot -EV stuff. A new though which will probably take my game to next level came in to my mind today and it's about how exploiting goes actually both ways in also giving up spots you think people are going to call you off too much, even game theoretically we should be bluffing..
example hand:
River looks like an obv. bluff spot and being results oriented I could have bluffed him out of A2 . On the other hand all middlepairs are going to 3-bet pre the majority of time vs. my small openraise. So I expect him to be on KQ, KJ, KT or to have some slowplay set occasionally. I considered overbetshoving but on the other hand realized that the population will probably be quite a station with those + I think the turn bet to get him off stuff like QJ, TJ A5 sort of bluffs as a semibluff is okay.
Poker snowie is suggesting a potsized bet for the river and I pretty much can't see why on earth ever as a bluff vs. his range. I think the shove works fine vs. some players but vs. stationy population it will probably end up -EV I guess.
I haven't been very productive today, woke up late and went to all you can eat thai buffet which was good. Then I had to meditate and stretch for like 1,5hours to get myself fit to play. Then this hand came and I wanted to think about it so I quit my session after 30mins. Now I feel very motivated though in the morning I had zero interest to play today... Some people make super tight playing schedules and training schedules for themselves but I've been always a bit chaotic person and I enjoy that I can do things when I want to do and when I want to do something I do it properly. If I would have to stick to schedules my concentration and motivation to study, analyze and play constantly on a high level would drop cause I would feel myself being a controlfreak which I'm not.

Nice thread. Like how you put a lot of time into studying. Trying to do the same
the AA hand i'd size way bigger oTT if u're playing a 1/3 cbet strategy,2/3 or 3/4 turn so u have a decent SPR to jam river.
65cc feels like we have to go all the way here,we are at the very bottom at our range and the board ran out decently well for our value range, plus i feel like ur 1/2 turn bet gets raise alot with his strong value considering how wet the texture is(fwiw i like a way bigger bet ott here since we're gonna be very polarized)

Can you explain why would you size bigger with the AA hand would be interested. I mean how does my sizings turn into a disadvantage for me? And yes I agree with 65ss. My turn betsize looks like a draw after taking a closer look into it which then makes me think of giving up river should be okay as played.. But yeah should be betting bigger on the turn + bottom of our range -> bluff river.
1 more H today)
Unknown 1-tabler (highest likely weaker player). Flop I can bet bigger for value my sizing is too small. Turn standard, getting raised obv. sucks. River??? He never ever bluffs here it's that type of spot fish don't turn pair to bluff or start getting out of line and I don't think the small flop bet realy changes this fact a lot. The problem is that if he raises and plays for value weaker trips often enough we should call but I think it happens so rarely (even most fish will understand any trips are not the nuts here + he has a lot of boats and some QJ straights in his range) I made a nitt fold. Even he could sometimes have the weaker trips the call will be at best BE if not it will be very losing so I think mostly he doesn't have them -> avoid -EV call + we have all the nuts in our range.

I started running awfull yesterday and continued today. It affects my game too much so I've been playing mainly 50 and 100nl today. Have to suck it up again what else can I do? Its just a ****ing cold game sometimes no matter what you do you just lose and watching yourself losing days in a row feels frustrating.
I remember when I was stuck to 50nl for a very long time I couldn't beat it cause I didn't know how to work on my game properly. I maybe knew there's a lot I could do but was just lazy. Now at 200nl I feel there are a few people who are very good and the rest is just as average as me. My roll and variance is the problem atm. + the fact that losing affects my game. Not that much as it used to do but it still does. Anyhow now I have the keys to work on my game much better than ever and the humbleness (?) to be objective + ofc. the hunger and faith. I think much more motivational than anything material is for me to get mentally there and to see myself beating the stakes I couldn't imagined to be able to beat before.
Well atleast I can be happy of being pretty fit atm. I ordered a weight vest and can't wait to get it and start using it while running. I'm also considering to start boxing again.

Thanks guys you are right!
I put 5k hands in today. Also decided to make some changes into my game and study more 3-bet pots. Also understood better how snowie works, it doesn't care postflop whether villain has enough potential bluffs or not, it just suggests to always defend the top range. The snowies ranges are also quite far from ranges people play so I'll stop looking at it's postflop advice in the way I used to do.
H1)
Flop 10 points for me to not auto c-bet.
Turn I should ship it in I was thinking that he might be complete out of line cause my play might look like some KQ, KJ that wants to drop lower pairs but in reality he needs equity to xR here. + looking at the SPR I should ship. River is then whatever
H2)
I think I've been shoving too often rivers like this on 3-bet pots and have been missing value that way. The thing is that I find folding hard and talk myself to call wrong spots if I use smaller sizings but tbh the population doesn't ship on spots like this much at all as a bluff they just make horrible calls.
H3)
Vs. fish could be a good bluff jam OTR and +EV I think but we still beat some low PPs so don't need to bluff this imo.
H4)
Not 100% sure whether I should actually bet induser otr vs. fish. The block bet might still get called by worse though.
Have listened to this song a lot while running & playing, good vibes. ATB is good too.

Vs. fish could be a good bluff jam OTR and +EV I think but we still beat some low PPs so don't need to bluff this imo.

Not 100% sure whether I should actually bet induser otr vs. fish. The block bet might still get called by worse though.

Have listened to this song a lot while running & playing, good vibes. ATB is good too.

Can relate to the smaller bets being harder to bet/fold cus of inducing, but as you say people aren't really exploiting it good enough so should be fine.
H1 AK I'd def valuejam river when he checks it after xr turn, don't think this is a spot he'll turn up w better hands like ever. Also prefer to bet/call and not bet/3b turn.
H4 I think we should bet bigger otr v fish, this is also a spot we have the best hand nearly always so just go for the fat value.
