Beach is bout half hour from my house in North Cornwall UK. Will post some more pics / vids when i get em, just getting used to using that camera right now, thats my first proper sesh with it.

So feb was decent. I managed to work out nearly everyday, either surfing or gym, i feel much fitter now than i did early January. Gonna keep on trying and hopefull maybe get a 6 pack again one day. In terms of routine it kinda sucked for actual time at the tables. I crushed one week playing 25K hands, and finished this week where i played like 12K hands or something, but overall no routine, and got off to a snail paced start. Did some study though so pretty happy with that side of things, atm i'm working on my thought process so i am talking my way through spots and visualising equity lab ranges (kinda sad eh haha). But reqally wanna know my range in every spot.

Spent the last few days thinking abouit how i can improve my daily routine, and have come up with some solid plsns for March. When i play a session i will plan on it lasting between 2 and 3 hours, i will play two of these sessions a day. Aim is for 5.5-6 hours actual play perday. Then an hour or so study later in the evning. Also i will try to wakeup at 8am daily and get the majority of my play done before 5pm. Although this will mean i am playing during the less juicy parts of the day i feel the structure and routine will greatly outweigh the fish factor (have to test that one though).

Have enough now for a 50NL shot which will be taking place in next week for sure. Feel kinda confident, but have been running kinda decent for a change (over EV feels weird tbh) sure that'll change soon though, overall my tilt control is now superior to at any point during my poker time. I feel super confident not checking results or if i lose 5 buys in a 100 hands i dont really sweat it much anymore just try and play all small spots optimally. Kinda proud that i have managed to fix sucha ******ed habit as that, as i was an angry tilty regfish not long ago. Still have to test myself during a big downswing though, looking forward to that now to prove i have fixed it properly.

Anyway some stuff i have changed this month was screesaver. Dat ass is now massively +EV imo...

Feb results, volume fail, tilt control was good, obv running good so not getting ahead of myself still tons of work to be done.

This year results, nice to break the $2K profit mark:

Breakdown by stakes since mid Dec:

Wanna post a few hands bc i got some good ones saved from recently:

a new month is here, exciting to move up to 50NL, have played a small sample there so far, running pretty average so far, but self disipline has been somewhat great, i feel not much pressure in terms of money lost, and happily muck my flopped nuts ott or otr when things go south. have been testing a new HUD which has caused some issues for my game, and decided to wait until a few teething issues have been ironed out with that before i take on the mamouth task of learning it completely. my current HUD is super sicko anyway so not overly upset about it not working.

Today was a great test for my tilt control, overall i would say i am still not 100% tilt free, but definitely a huge inmprvement since earlier itt. I tend to look for more spots to playback when running bad, i guess everyone does, however i didnt take nearly as many of them today as i would have months previous. Didnt spew off one silly triple barrel bluff where ranges didnt fit. Did make a few huge bluffs where i thought them through but they didnt work out.

Villain had pretty high fold vs riv raise here, and is super capped at a flush, i have all the sets boats he has none - villain tanked entire time bank then last second called :/

This hand was a mistake vs a thinking reg, who was taking his time on his decisions, i was thinking he would chk call KQ on this riv making his betting range pretty air heavy. Totally discluded AK from his range. Maybe i can just call this river if i discount AK from his range and expect him to CC rivered TPs. Either way in game i just snap jammed repping the nuts

                          03-06-2014 , 10:04 PM
Done for the day and it went good, played nice today, made two mistakes that were pretty bad, but spoke to someone who crushes who made me realise that just playing solid is fine at 50NL, no one is good enough to fold anyway so just high variance playing agro when people are capped - so bluff a bunch in small medium pots and playing pretty solid range vs range in bigger pots should net a 6bb/100 winrate in his opinion. So i stopped my river wrecking and sured up my game after that talk. Here's a few of my early mistakes:

vs reg, he tanked for a while, said in the chat "oh i think we both have a flush" then called. Blockerz not gonna blocker

Not such a goiod one today, actually made a somewhat spewy play in one hand which sucked and am running poorly as you like, was gonna take rest of the day off but for some reason i got auto entered into a $11NL donkament fropm the 235FPP SNGs i play to cash in my points instead of buying stars ripoff cash tokens in the store so am playing that with 50% attention span between some chit chat, online dating and tv shows. In before final table Will update if i get deep.

                                    Today:

Yesterday results was kinda sick day, i am a pretty stuborn person, and was kinda set on getting even, ended up playing for 8.5 hours, but it just wasnt meant to be. Graph here:

You can see i made a nice enough come back after i posted here yesterday down 8 buyins, winning back a bit over 4 buyins, which made me even more determined to get even. however then i got a bit tired and kept running into a brick wall of coolers. Anyway at 2am this hand happened and i literally tilt pulled the power cord out of the back my computer and went straight to bed lol - defo shouldnt really be playing when that tired though so kinda good. Spewed off stack in semi close spot also so mental game is still not fixed, but all this gives me more to work on and improve so staying positive. Need to set time limits for myself. Will do a full session review on Monday but not gonna play till then i guess, a little time off is needed.

The hand that broke the camels back, versus 70%Vpip drooler. CR sizing was too small due to a misclick bc i was delirious with tiredness by then haha. Literally insta quit pulled out the power cord with 8 tables open never done that before

Been playing quite a lot of volume this week, managed 5 hours today and 4 yesterday iirc. Been running really meh overall, running into the top of ranges a ton, people CRing lots of air otf and getting there by the river. Defo made a few too many bad calls otr though, need to work on that. Tough game when everything goes against you, just plan on playing my 6 hrs daily and not letting it get me down though. On a positive side at least i am hanging on in there at the new limit [50NL] after 20K hands with a small profit to show, and tons of money spent in rake haha

Read this fantastic thread again whenever i feel a bit tilty:

These bits are really relevant for me and something i try to remind myself of:

Failing hard at poker right now, running very bad, feel nervous betting rivers bc people make sets / 2 pair otr every other hand. I know its just variance but when you lose every pot with the top of ya range vs ******s with 80% vpip for 20K hands you start getting a bit down :/ Thinking of quitting the poker for rest of the month right now. BRs only now 500$ plus have 300 in rake money. Tilt has taken its toll on me have spewed off a couple buyins today, i feel a inferior player to everyone else, just a fish again. I know its only a tiny bit under EV but that barely touches on how bad i am running in setups right now. The pressure of trying to make it at a new limit is really tough, i need to make some money for living expenses and coaching also, so i am feeling pretty down today with everything going so ****ty. Thats all till next month i guess GL everyone

Nice pics man. Looks like a really cool place to live! Hopefully that great-white they're tracking in the middle of the atlantic doesn't decide to make UK history by paying a visit!

Keep working hard with your game. Moving up in stakes and running bad is a blessing because it forces you to honestly-assess yourself and although it doesn't seem like it right now, in time it will make you stronger both mentally and technically.

                                      Gl mate.

^^^ thanks people, had a decent talk with my friend about accepting, learning and moving on after bad runs. Will be putting that into action tomorrow. Need to learn from my mistakes. Will be attempting some serious evaluation and note taking bonanza next!

Ok - quick update on some changes and future goals:

*Will move down to 25NL for the rest of March. Not good enough yet for 50NL. Have enough buyins for 50NL but not playing well right now and wanna master new HUD.

*Focus on mental game again mainly since it still is not solid enough to handle the higher variance times

*Try to absord via listening: The Power of Now which is a kind of crazy philosophy of life audio book. Definitely forces you to think outside the box of normal life. Think it applies to everyone in someway.

*Read "How to be a poker player" by the somewhat hated Haseeb Qureshi. Brought this on Amazon and it just arrived, great value at £10 i feel

*Master new HUD setup which i have been working on.

                                      *Stop checking results during session.

*Make reviewing my play after every session a part of my routine, not a once in while thing.

All these things need to be implemented before i can make the jump:
