Thoughts on zoom are that its pretty similar to reg tables, 10NL is just so soft and beatable for a really large WR given the free stacks flying around everywhere. Lots of very bad players, i think one thing i would say is when facing triple barrel jams or overbet jams on the river folding is generally never gonna be that bad given how unbalanced (towards value) peoples bluffing ranges are on the river.

One thing i notice is i think less carefully due to the pace of it when i'm 6 tabling, and sometimes make snap decisions (trying to work on eliminating that from my game) - overall i think its great to help build a polished game where you play thinking mainly about your range, villains range, board texture, equity and not much else.

Good training - especially in terms of not taking super exploitable lines but just playing solid with a bit of thought towards balance. I think one of my biggest leaks can be sometimes over attacking on tables where there's a player with a huge vpip and getting into stupid spots with lol preflop ranges. Its hugely important to not tilt while zooming, bc when your playing 1100 hnds/hr 200bb deep you can quickly lose 10 buyins in regular spots and if that snowballs into you losing more buyins then its gonna hurt you alot over the longrun. Mental game again very important, maybe most important thing imo.

So today played a bit and made some mistakes but overall am improving and getting better at this zoom. Results from today:

            02-13-2014 , 09:46 AM
Just noticed i cleared 100K hands since i started the thread, kinda a mini milestone for me as i feel i have improved a decent bit in terms of mental game since i began in late December (when i really sucked at that side of things) - hoping to not tilt donate a single stack in the next 100K hands

On a slightly negqative note, i did weigh myself today and have actually gained 3KG :/ Have been excercising daily so was kinda shocked by this, although i did quit smoking on new years which i am told can contribute to a little gain, but am just gonna continue my routine as planned - next weigh in will be March 30th so by then i hope to have gone the other way. GL at the tables everyone.

gl.Nice to see a uk PGC thread. The first step to killing off your inner steamer is to recognise your inner steamer.

May the gods grant you some of the run goot they squander on russian plo zoom donks whose bottom set (no redraws of course) hit quads on the river.

That was playing 6 tables of zoom for about 9 hours gets you 10K hands, i just learnt to use hotkeys for my preflop raises and fast folding - that helps a ton, also i use a HUD that allows me to make all my preflop decisions without clicking popups continously. That way i can mostly concentrate on postflop stuiff and not get bogged down.

P.s are you Sw-kaizer? or do you guys just live like identical lives?

I also wouldn't get too disheartened by the last hand, giving the hands we can discount etc, if thats the worst hand you have played in awhile it shouldn't be long moving up

That last hand was tilting bc before i raised i said to myself i would raise fold, also i accounted for the fact he had AK in his range, otf i expected to get 2 streets of value from worse on that texture. Also i discounted a lot of his twotone combo's bc he was really tight coldcall range in that spot preflop, pretty certain someone wth a wwsf of 40 over a large sample only rips back over the top otr with AK in that spot simply bc its exactly the kinda spot a nit would expect me to have AK in (even though i would barrel it bc i get so much value from his worse AX). Pfff more tilted i follow my own advice than anything else

I try to play 80-120min sessions, with tunes to keep me rolling. I also have a pretty sweet chair for grinding, a Humnascale Freedom chair, which is ergonomic and very good on your back / posture. After i finish i do a bunch of situps and pressups, and maybe take a cycle ride up the coast for 10mins before i play again (if its not raining which it always ****ing is atm ).

              ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So yesterday was kinda meh day, i felt burnt out by the end of the day. Thx people much appreciated - hey brainfuker it was your thread i read that inspired me to hit the deep ante yesterday before getting murdered haha, you owe me some EV will be coming to collect it soon

Kinda done for the week poker wise now. Spent a couple hours studying equity with my Lativan partner in crime today, was really great to get some of his insight from a better player into some smaller spots that would normally just get swallowed up in the blackhole of my database, break them down to the core and see where i am making mistakes. Am looking to put in a lot of work in the next few months, still making a ton of theoretically unsound plays that need ironing out. Thats where the real money is, in the 5 thousand tiny mistakes people make every 50K hands !

Week done 23K hands played, tilt control was much better, the spews are becoming a rarity rather than a common occurance now, hopefully time to move up soon

Dads birthday tomorrow so cooking up a meal in the day then a friends murder mystery birthday party at a beach hotel in the evening, should be fun day and will certainly involve some drinks, hopefully won't be too hanging to play on monday. Anyway thats all people GL everyone.

So Sunday night was really messy, just about recovered now, there warm sunshine across my balcony and the waves look great, so am gonna bust out a surf before i play / study later today. Will get a pic / vid of my pad itt soon for sure. Iphones broken atm so waiting for a replacement. Have only played a short session this morning, have decided to play 50K hands of 25NL zoom and buy a database review with a good midstakes player, since this seems a great way of keeping my volume really high. Anyway, a few fun hands from today, please post opinions on them if you notice anything, cheers:

Well i wasn't expecting to see this hand at showdown!

Thoughts on this river jam? Thought villain may well be slowplay KQ and AQ here, obv i discount TT from his range since that would jam aipf (although given what i am seeing these days people are so bad maybe it wouldn't hehe)

Managed a 2 hour high intensity weights session today at the gym today, broke me haha. Anyway month so far is like this:

Volume this month has been awful so far, way too low, need to be getting 100K hand months considering i wanna be moving up stakes, and also i will struggle to maintain platinum status at this rate. Have been studying cr ev and flopzilla with a friend a good bit though so thats a good thing. Ninja babe to motivate me:

                        GL everyone

I need 4723.31 VPP before March01 to maintain my platinum status. Apparently i am getting 0.09VPPs per hand, which mean i have to play 52,481 hands before March, or 8746 per day for the rest of Feburary (damn these shorted months hehe) ! which is a **** ton and as far as i am concerned pretty -EV for me. Really unsure if i am even gonna try and attempt it or just sack it off and just try and play my A-game for the rest of the month and win enough to not have to worry about rakeback stuff, kinda gutted after working so hard last month i have had such a slack time this month. Only managed 35K hands so far

The other day something happened that made me realise how bad at poker in general i was, i was being sweated by a really good low stakes player (a friend also who i do lots of HH review with) he was asking me questions that i literally could not answer, or hadn't thought about. It was kinda embarrassing, so from now on i will be working much harder on my concious thought proces during hands. Whats my range is the first question i want to answer in every spot. I guess i must be guessing my way through ok currently, but thats not gonna cut it at higher levels and is gonna hold me back. So thats one of my new updated goals for myself, to think more and autopilot less! Thanks for the wakeup call Vlad :~) Moment of clarity reviewing that 20 minute vid of myself playing was for me.

                        -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK minichallenge time, gotta try and keep my platinum so am gonna try and get 52K hands before 12pm EST on 28/02/14.

edit: CAn anyone tell me how many VPPs they are getting at 25NL cheers?? wanna check my calculations are correct.

My choosen games will be 25NL zoom, 6 tables mostly depending on how i am feeling. Will update progress itt daily, looking for 4x10 hour days then a few mellow chilled out in betweeners. GL everyone, posting my dream top of the league thread savers for some run good
