My poker journey so far My poker journey so far

Hey all, I've been playing poker professionally for the past 10 months and my journey has been so far nothing short of amazing in my opinion.

It all started in January of this year, when I decided to quit my 9-5 job and look for opportunities outside of corporate routine. My best friend (who is a pro) brought to me the idea of trying out to play poker seriously, with him as my coach + fully staking me, tho I don't think any of us took that idea too seriously by that time. I had some general knowledge about poker ( I would occasionally play some live tournaments in the casino close to where I live), but there was no strategy involved whatsoever.

After the 1st month, where I was mostly just studying the strategy, it was time to start playing. This would involve me grinding 25nl zoom on Bodog. I wouldn't say it went as bad as me and my coach thought it would after around 100k hands, but I was still playing pretty bad, although the player pool on Bodog also wasn't the best. Once I've switched to playing clubs only, that's where I saw the biggest progress. I saw how bad the players are there and it got me super motivated. I would spent countless hours with my coach watching me play and him finding the leaks in my game ( which I know I still have plenty by this point ). From that point on, I was progressively moving in stakes and after 10 months of playing, I find myself playing 1k NL which still blows my mind. 😄

I remember the first days after I started playing and my coach telling me, that if everything goes well, I could be playing 50 NL by end of this year, which to me by that time sounded really crazy. Sooo, I think I can confidently say that I've overachieved everything I've set out to do and I am super excited for what's to come.
I understand that being a pro is not for everybody but I think it's a perfect match for my personality - being quite introverted, I don't mind grinding almost everyday.

Having said all that, I am loving my life at the moment and I know that the sky is the limit for all of us in this game - just stay determined, open minded and never stop learning!
