I’m looking forward to playing poker live after nine-month hiatus. I had never before played consistently online until the last months when I played 8,700 hands on Ignition, downloaded them to PokerTracker, replayed all the ones I lost, and adjusted my game. My change pre since last playing live is to stay supper nitty UTG and MP and open up HJ-CO-BU, 3-beting or folding hands like KJs, A4s, and AJo. If the calling stations are few, I’ll consider 4-betting hands like A4s and JTs as bluffs against tight passives in all positions, although my goal is to play in position on the flop the vast majority of the time. I see no need to defend blinds when people raise 12-15 pre in 1-2. From my online study, my main measurable leak was my aggression frequency, c-betting way too much. I need to check-call more hands oop. Further goals are to identify players whom I should 3-bet (tight passives) and not 3-bet (calling stations). Pay attention when people show cards. Look for tells
On Ignition NL10, I won 48 dollars over the 8,700 hands or 5.54 BB / 100. I got lucky on several hands. I hope my good luck keeps up. I’m looking forward to writing up tough hands for your comments. Check back soon.
