My MTT Journey... My MTT Journey...

Hi all

Been around here a long time and done numerous things like this in the past which haven't worked out. Will this be any different? Hopefully but I don't know!

My goal is off a $150 starting balance just to work my way up through Mtts.

I have a full time job and a young family so volume will be sparse. Target is for 200 games a month so fully appreciate over 2,400 games a year sample size is tiny!

I will target games only on Pokerstars and will aim around the 100bi mark. Will play games up to the 50bi mark and any more than 100bi to give myself an average Stake of about 100bi.

I appreciate to really get going and work up ladder I need a couple of big scores.
I appreciate that Stars tourneys have 4 figure fields
And i appreciate i could easily not bink one in a whole year with my volume.

This is more for fun than anything to keep a record blog and see if I can have a nice run and get up high. Most games will be turbos and hypers just to increase the variance even more

Will update later today

You seem to have a better insight than most of the micro mtt grinders on here in regards to variance.

Decision - To also add to this the Super Knockout SNGMTTS that Pokerstars run as and when I can
Pros - Increase Volume
Cons - 13% Rake and Hyper Turbos increase variance
Overall - The extra volume is easilly negated by the increased variance

I dont know if these games are beatable at this rake. There is very little on them from google. I will endeavour to keep seperate track of these but they do seem very soft... Last no longer than 12 minutes and can easilly 4-6 table these so long as you run them in packs rather than overlapping

My word do they appear to be soft from early impressions

Only played 24 but 7 Final Tables, 4 Top 3 finishes and 2 wins all relatively comfortably whilst picking up 39 Bounties along the way for $13.77 up

Ok so I'm up to 59 played and here are the stats for the 36mans

Played - 59
Won - 7
Final Tables - 15
Bounties - 104
Profit - $36.35
ROI - 60%
ITM - 25%

Again I know it's only like 1/100th of a sample size needed but these feel so soft that the rake is beatable.

Played - 93
Won - 9
Final Tables - 20
Bounties - 133
Profit - $27.43
ROI - 29%
ITM - 22%

Will continue to track the $1 Super Knockouts. Will also add any decent MTT cashes
