We are talking after tax. Earning

I wouldn't touch poker unless I was making about $200k about £150k because it's a game very much on the decline so it isn't like I'm making 150k a year for the next 20 years. It also completely kills career progression which is what it has to be compared against. It isn't do that for a living or nothing. Then you factor in things like variance which can kill off your earnings completely, having to have the capital to have 100% of yourself in some pretty large games rather than invested and it very quickly adds up.

Maybe that's conservative but I think if you are being serious about things anyone with reasonably good job prospects and career progression would fall around that number. I also don't enjoy grinding poker long term all that much so unlike for some people (usually with dead end jobs or jobs they are trapped in due to finances) I'd also be decreasing my job satisfaction considerably.

Then again I am a pretty lazy person and value freedom more than money, but like I said to each their own. I personally would consider that a lot of monks are more successful than some of the richest businessmen.

Getting into the whole "I'm more successful because I earn X amount more than someone" mentality just builds up your ego around monetary focus. When you consider the billionaires of the world and how you stack up against the just moderately rich even, earning 2x more than someone really isn't that much of an accomplishment.
For the record I don't particularly care how much people earn or anything like this. I was just struggling to understand the jealousy comment someone made and it only made sense in the context of money made.

9-17 job is a ****ing nightmare. I honestly wouldnt do it unless i earned 4-5 times more than in poker (and im saying this as a software developer, which theoretically isnt THAT boring). You see, people are different and money isnt everything.

Edit: i misunderstood your comment, you actually werent attacking people with different views, so its all good. Just ignore me

I wasn't talking about myself, but about how you are jealous of brokenstars' results.

What makes you hate me is not about the results, but my passion/work ethic. I'm pretty sure it's a natural response of you to hate on me because of your lack of effort in that area, which makes you mad at yourself, which makes you release that anger by trolling threads.

Rather make less money and work for myself. Not even close
That alarm clock buzzing after a ****ty nights sleep is pure torture

No point putting effort into something if you don't get anywhere with it year after year. That's what you fail to grasp.

Is everything good?

Probably stopped posting itt. Because 95% of 2+2 is a disaster now. Full of trolls, haters, sarcastic remarks, and "inside jokes".
02-10-2019 , 10:54 AM
so in other words same as its always been.

I've been in the hospital and have more important things going on than updating 2 + 2.

Also yes... too many trolls on this forum anymore. I never gained much from the blog to begin with, but since achieving what I would call "real success" it's ironically much worse.

Seriously who gives a fk about money you'll make more or less who cares, guess who is happier if you aren't then stop playing simple as that

Not a therapist or anything but i feel like you won't be happier once you acheive those short term year goals you set yourself think long term man, and envision yourself with the goals u set urself in that once u acheive them will u really be happy or will that feeling only be for like a day or 2?

I feel like uve already made it and theres nothing else to do pretty much maybe try doing something diff travel maybe?
