The sky thing is it commenting on cash games or...?
I think I have the sky poker channel. Would tune in for the craic.
Unfortunately i won't be playing but i'll be a poker analyst for the show. Definitely tune in!

Nothing to say, just cannot seem to get on the right end of a single hand. Lost 3k at 400 today. Quite literally every single spot was horrendous, and lost SO much to fish constantly. I ran above ev though, so theres a bonus...
Ill try tune in for this Sky Poker appearance in November see what I can learn
How good is your mental game for dealing with these downswings when you loose 10 BI or drop maybe $4,000 in a day or two? Do you follow the basic advice of not worrying about short term results and just go look at a long term graph to give you confidence and re-assurance?
Or do you ever sit down at the tables feeling the pressure and strain of a recent downswing to the point it alters your decision making?
What do you reckon is the best way to cope? Grind through it, make as little mistakes as possible and keep thinking positive and believe in yourself??

Thanks mate, haha thanks, but i'm not sure how much learning you can do from sky poker!
I'd say my mental game is actually relatively weak these days. I think it's become worse because my expectations of myself have increased and therefore it's a lot easier to be critical. I generally try to live by the bigger picture philosophy, but at times that can be hard when you're starting at your monthly results.... In my opinion the best way to cope is to play shorter sessions and take at least a couple seconds with every single easy decision (obviously a lot longer with hard ones) cus then it makes you check your hud more, see who's behind and helps you to make a better informed decision. I think the worst thing i do when doing badly is try make too much happen to chase losses and auto piloting. Self belief can be real tough at times but looking at your yearly graph always helps

Today was an unbelievably frustrating day. The games were so good and to add insult to injury i ran really above ev.
Just so many disgusting spots, losing half stacks all over the place to horrendous bluffs that river some kind of crusty top pair and again no cbets or bluffs going through. Pleased to only have lost 400 for the day but felt i could easily have won 2k if i'd run more normal in pots.
Afraid there's nothing of interest to say today. Spent the whole session grinding out another hole. I feel like i'm coming down with something, my whole body is aching and got a horrendous headache (1 time not ebola)
kinda feel like im not really offering much to the thread atm and that's simply cus there aren't any interesting hands. Sorry if it's boring but i'll just keep updating like this unless it becomes ridiculous! gl
Going thru similar at the moment. Every session I get stuck some buyins at the very start and spend the whole session trying to get unstuck. Poker is fun

thanks mate! there isn't a huge difference, just more money ton win or lose
Preflop: Hero is CO with 7 7
2 folds, MP2 calls $4, MP3 folds, Hero raises to $16, BTN folds, SB calls $14, BB raises to $66, MP2 calls $62, Hero calls $50, SB folds
Flop: ($214) 9 7 5 (3 players)
BB bets $141.24, MP2 calls $141.24, Hero raises to $393.70 and is all-in, BB raises to $410.88 and is all-in, MP2 folds
Turn: ($1,142.64) 4 (2 players, 2 are all-in) River: ($1,142.64) A (2 players, 2 are all-in)
Spoiler:
Results: $1,142.64 pot ($2.15 rake)
Final Board: 9 7 5 4 A
BB showed K K and lost (-$459.70 net)
MP2 mucked and lost (-$207.24 net)
Hero showed 7 7 and won $1,140.49 ($680.79 net)
sometimes i dont know why some people win money... or why stuff like this is happening
really one of the unluckiest spot ever with cold calling whale in the middle
but nh
Seems like you've overreacted a ridiculous amount tbh. Attacking the fact i win money is pretty low too. Not sure what you expect me to do vs an 84 vpip whale too....
I do however understand that poker can get to us sometimes and make us say/do silly stuff so i won't hold onto anything you said. gl mate

I actually think the flop shove is fine. Once the cbet and call have been made for so many bb's I definitely expect 1 if not both to call all in so kinda didn't feel it necessary to trap otf. The fact the fish folded maybe suggests I should call though, so I can see your points
haha, berating a player for taking a bad line at the table is one thing, berating a player for taking a std line is another, coming into the thread just to berate a std line is so LOL out of line. Poker is hard and stressful for sure, worst session or not this aint acceptable imo
Cheers for posting guys, but let's leave it that for now, no point continuing it since he apologised. As for the 777 hand i think shoving/calling the flop is close but think we can't go too wrong by raising or calling tbh.

Up and down day ending in micro profit for the day:
Actually had some interesting pots too.
vs a ridic tight reg. Really tilting result but i think it's ok?
This is a really sick spot. Raiser is a reg and flop raiser is massive whale. We have the best hand vs him nearly always given how bad he was. Can we fold flop when reg calls the raise? Or should we just call then fold turn? Really really awkward:
Preflop: Hero is CO with K K
UTG folds, MP raises to $6, Hero calls $6, BTN calls $6, 2 folds
Flop: ($21) T 2 Q (3 players)
MP bets $12, Hero calls $12, BTN raises to $54, MP calls $42, Hero raises to $194 and is all-in, BTN calls $140, MP calls $140 and is all-in
Turn: ($603) 7 (3 players, 2 are all-in) River: ($603) Q (3 players, 2 are all-in)
Spoiler:
Results: $603 pot ($2.80 rake)
Final Board: T 2 Q 7 Q
MP showed A 5 and won $600.20 ($400.20 net)
Hero showed K K and lost (-$200 net)
BTN showed J Q and lost (-$200 net)
Preflop: Hero is MP2 with J J
2 folds, Hero raises to $5, MP3 folds, CO calls $5, BTN raises to $22, 2 folds, Hero raises to $46, CO folds, BTN calls $24
I think i mentioned that i play in a 5 aside league on a Monday now as well as the 6 aside on a Wednesday. We had a really good game last night where we won 10-0 I had one of my best games ever which is a confidence boost!

Solid advice mate. Yeh my HUD is Huuuge so Im usually taking a few secs to look over stuff. I also seem to do that when chasing losses or tilting, I start some fancy play syndrome postflop and my redline ends up going south with my blueline. I think auto-piloting seems to happen on longer sessions and also when tired.
So you wont be getting the calculator out on Sky Poker to discuss any GTO frequencies then. Oh well if its gonna be non educational hopefully they have some hot busty blonde for a presenter so we can learn how you cope under pressure
