Sup guys. Long time lurker, first time poster. When looking back at my 2011, I'm really not proud of the way things turned out for me. There were some extenuating circumstances that held me back(BF, money stuck on Cake), but those aren't very good excuses for the lackluster year that I had. So, it's time to take some accountability for my actions, and I think that this thread will be a good way to do that.

Currently I grind $1/2 live at Harrah's Cherokee in NC, and I am also rolled on Cake(unfortunately haha, I really just want to pull this money out). I also am currently being staked/coached on the Entraction network by a friend of mine for 6max and HU 100NL and 200NL. As far as goals go for this year, they are pretty simple: make 100 stacks and grind 500k hands online. There may be some additional goals which I'll add later, but for now let's start with the grizzafes and threadsavers!

First session that I played last night after midnight(LOL loser who stayed in on NYE etc.):

Ran pretty ****ing good. Plus games were super soft.

Lol...just noticed that there are like three more threads with a 100k goal this year. Should be interesting to see which of us manages to actually make it! GOGOGOGOGO!

I'm sorry...you play 100NL and you want to win 100 stacks. I'm not very good at math but 100x100=10,000 afaik. Other than that, gl!

I'm guessing you wanna win 1000 stacks then...
I don't play 100NL anymore but I'd say anything but flatting would be ridiculous...

Thoughts:
I played this hand last night and thought that it was a pretty interesting spot, as you don't see overbet ships that often at 100NL, so it can be difficult to correctly interpret. I only played about 50 hands total with this guy, so I have no notes and really only a few relevant stats to go by. His numbers were 31/27/20. So although he is pretty aggro in nature, he was displaying some reggish tendencies also. Because his 3bet was so high, I decided to just flat this hand IP b/c he's just not really going to call/ship much of that range against a 4bet. Really bad flop, but plenty of his range also misses on this board b/c of his wide 3b range so its a mandatory call. His check on the turn basically indicates that he's either trying to pot control a bad ace or worse pair or he's just giving up completely. So when he overbets on the gutshot/flush completing river something just doesn't seem right. The sizing makes his range suppppper polarized and we can go ahead and eliminate flushes from his possible hands b/c given his aggro reg tendencies he would have almost certainly continued to barrel the backdoor fd on the turn. That only leaves a gutshot, and I'm almost certain he wouldn't overbet that on the river b/c of my checkback on the turn. My range in this spot looks pretty weak, so his sizing on the river to get paid for his straight would almost certainly be more standard. Therefore, I thought that there was enough air in his range to make this call. Definitely took me a minute to figure this one out though.

Have a good Tuesday!!!!
