Been a pretty frustrating start to the month, but rebuilding takes time. Biggest struggle is that it's just too easy to end the day going out, getting smashed, and picking up puss. Think I've skipped 3 days so far this week because of hangovers. I'm happy I'm starting to hit a wall with this though and don't crave it like I used to. I think now it's just boredom more than anything.

In light of the Charleston church shooting, I think all of us would do well to remember the following:

Shamelessly stolen from someone else: 'If networks could show live executions, CNN would show them naked.'

after ante results this month:

Another sunday in which I unregistered the remainder of the schedule because I was punching whatever was next to me other than my laptop and monitor. **** everything.

A day ago I was on the verge of posting the widening gap between actual and ev chips for this month, but I had the realization late last night that tears and entitlement serve no one.

Watching the player's championship final table yesterday impressed on me how little I know about this game; I barely know the rules for half the variations, let alone possess a deep understanding of nlhe. Being on the edge of a cliff with respect to my bankroll undoubtedly takes its toll and affects the way I approach the game, but it seems a slim excuse for a lackluster effort to move forward in my game.

Watching JRB yesterday made this contrast so clear. The man was sweating his decisions more so than outcomes (at least this is how I perceived it). I hope I reach that place as well.

As a general aside, with the Supreme Court legalizing gay marriage, it seems that the United States has followed a similar trajectory to the one that resulted in Brown v. Board of Education. Many have lambasted Scalia's dissent (full opinions here), but he and Roberts make what I deem strong counterarguments to the majority decision. The idea that a court of 9 un-elected lawyers who were born the on the seaboards of America should have the power to legislate for the people of South Carolina seems to be an affront to democracy in America. That said, if gay marriage was placed to a vote in a state where I resided, I would vote in favor of its legalization. This is an enormous and deserved victory for gay rights activists, but I do not believe that the Court should be the arbiter of such a victory.

basically a lighter, non-amphetamine mental stimulant / sleep-deprivation suppressor. really good compilation of information: http://www.gwern.net/Modafinil

I need to start cycling it though because I've felt myself building up a tolerance. The thing it does for me that is most valuable is that the greater focus it allows me to have on decision-making mitigates how much my mind wanders in terms of emotional response to results.

probably butchered preflop/flop, but feel like the river play is good. Any thoughts? At the time I thought he folds KQ/AK 90% of the time and my line looks a ton like AQ or a flush I chose to play strangely on the flop, which isn't in either of our ranges too much given both flop checks ><

He had the supernova stars displayed, and combined with his play so far, made me puke as soon as I jammed since he didn't seem like the type that would make any sort of fold. Not sure what bluffs I show up to the river with though.

edit: all this is not to slag off on his call - his hand is a pretty good bluff catcher, my line is weird, and I might just be shovelling a worse king myself maybe.

thanks man. great song.

I think I'll stay in Budapest for the coming months until I have the urge to go somewhere else, most likely in Europe. Going out, I've spent too much time at szimpla and instant and not looked for other places that I imagine are way better. favorite place but open only early in the night is telep. any recommendations?

If someone dragged a reg to me and handed me a revolver, I wouldn't think twice of putting a bullet in their ****ing temple. spins are the ****ing worst thing thats ever happened to me poker-wise.

After more than 15k games, I haven't had a single top 3 spin between the $15s and $30s, and am running hundreds of buyins below ev in the spins I have gotten. The kicker is that I have the mental game of a ****ing pygmy so the run bad has probably eroded another 2-3% from my ev due to literally wanting to murder people during every session.

**** everything, and especially **** all the mentally ill regs that play these games and run as if they were covered in an infinite supply of gasoline.

yeah those are good to get drunk, get girls and care about nothing but overall sucks. there is plenty of good opportunity for good events too. would advise you to like these pages on facebook: A38 Hajó, Corvintető (official), Akvárium klub official, Tesla Budapest.

they are posting/hosting v good events usually they are in different places but mostly in the same VII. district like Instant and Szimpla, so you cant go wrong with those i mentioned above. plus there is groups hosting nice names in different places worh to follow on facebook, will look into it and post later.

aynway where are from? why you choosed Hungary? are u with friends? you stopped playing MTTs?
