Hey guys, so my name is Nick and I play on Pokerstars as Cashtellnow2...I am a loosing player but had just been giving coaching right before Black Friday and was starting to turn my game around. I guess it would be smart for me to stay in the USA, But I am only 23 and have a dream to be a profitable poker player...So I am on a bus right now to Canada.

My goal is simple- Start with a $1500 Bankroll
-Play $10 dollar SNGS until $2,500
-Move up to $20 SNGS -Find a home at the $20's.
-Make SN By end of August.

I probably deserve to get flamed for following my dreams not knowing if I have the potential or not to be a winning player, But I am going to see what happens.

Hey thank you for wishing me luck. I am going to Guelph Ontario. I will be playing mostly 9 man Sngs at the $10's and $20's. If Pokerstars gets their Turbo Blind levels fixed, I may play turbos but for now will be sticking to reg speed.

-I am a friend with someone from these forums who i can't wait to meet. They settled in Niagra falls region Ontario, I will only be about a half hour away from him and Can't wait to meet him talk strategy a little bit, (altho it mostly wont matter because hes a Cash player and I am a Sng player) Just going to feel pretty awesome not to feel completely alone , he's willing to help me do what I need to do to get an address change etc.

If anyone has any good strategy articles for 9 man sng's that they have found extremly amazingly awesome let me know.

I'm just ganna say my thoughts on this....

When I saw this I let out a big YES lol. I preach to people about following and going for your dreams. And I'm glad to see this is what you are doing. I get sick of people in this world being content then when they are 50 they will look back and say "what if"... I hate the image of what society paints as what an individual "should" do in life. Screw it your young go after your dreams but I'm ganna say something else lol. If your ganna do it go balls to the F-Ing wall. When times get tough don't quit.

Hell I'm a 20 year old college student though so what do I know ! lol But I will say I will never look back and say "what if"

GL man I'll be following your thread and rooting for you.

Hey Guys, I'm sorry to let all you down... I boarded the bus, High as ****...had just smoked smoked a pretty quality blunt with my friends as a last goodbye....a lot of them asked me to not leave but I got on the bus anyway...

During the bus ride I started to think if this was really the best decision for me. I decided that it was, but the timing was off, I got off at the next stop in NYC hung out a while there and then got a bus back home.

I know a lot of you are going to think im a pussy for backing out but my reasons to me are pretty important.

The reasons Why I decided not to go through with this at this time are as follows.

-I have a 19 year old sister who is currently pregnant has been hospitalized since week 20 due to complications shes having, and she needs support.I really don't want to miss the first few months of my nephews life, and I deff want to be there for my sister in case something goes wrong becuase of the problems shes having.

-I have a brother whose getting married in October and I am in the wedding party, there's a lot of planning that needs to be done and parties, functions to go to that I really shouldn't miss.

-My mother just recently ended up in the hospital a few days ago(she was having chest pains, shes out now)

-My grandmother is in the nursing home doing well at the moment but that can change at any time....

-Friends- I have taken some time off of school the last 2 years, and will be going back in the fall, I thought going to Canada would be a great hoorah before going back and finishing my degree, but I realize friends are more important than a card game .

All In All, I think turning back was the right decision. Once my sister has her baby, and my brother gets married and I finish my degree (1 year left) i feel is a good time to try it out if the USA situation is not better.

Flame away for me being a coward and turning back, but the truth is Family and Friends come before a card game that I haven't even proven I am a winner at yet.

I am sad knowing I will not be grinding away in Canada, but I feel given the circumstances there will be better opportunity to do so down the road.

Since you delayed your trip, you should probably stop by the nearest Canadian embassy and see what you need to do to get a temporary visa in Canada. There are probably all kinds of issues to be resolved once your stay gets to longer than 3 months or so.

not really sure why I didn't think of it before i left. I was super excited and am bummed out today that I didn't end up going, But I don't feel the timing was right..I guess it hit me once I was on the bus and it actually felt "real"

Maybe you can use the 1500 bucks to try and make it live? Maybe easier to beat than online sngs.

going to get myself a car and get a real job for now. Will use $ from job to fund a live bankroll. and will go from there. Might deposit like $100 or so on RPM, but am trying to find out more informatino on them and see what their cashout timeframe is like. Anyone know?
