just a super quick update before I run out the house, I'll respond to everyone in the thread in my next post

yeah, crashed my bike again last night. This time it wasn't my fault imo. I'm alright, just bit my lip.

Fixed my flights so that I'm flying out of Phuket instead of having to fly from Phuket to Bangkok and then to HK.

I'm running really good this month, it's a bit embarassing

Probably my best day yet. I played very well yesterday, ran well too. Played the Swede and took him for like 6k, it was very sweet.

New best day

I'm no TheComeUp but here's to trying

What was your thought process on this turn?

What type of player was it?

What range do you give him on that turn c/r?

Is it more like 88, 77, JJ, Ac...?

Also I think you'd be suprised in the interest for a vid if you actually said you were DEFO going to make one and then asked for some input. Plus if you just made one and posted it you'd get a lot of response to it 4sure.

Enjoy ur last few day in Thailand.

Villain was the Swede and it's just an FML call twice, river is actually okay even though he'll have Ac sometimes but won't have overpairs with the club anymore. Obv he'll still have Qxcc/Kxcc but meh.

Happy new years!

Lots has happened since my last update, haven't played that much poker.

Dropped like 20k the day I missed my plane from Phuket to HK. Fail. Slowly grinding back up.

Went on a bus tour with my family in Taiwan. Landed in Kaohsiung and then drove all the way up to Taipei. It was pretty stressful to be honest, having to wake up at 6AM when I'm used to waking up at 3PM. But yeah, great to spend time with the family. They just flew back and I'm going to miss them lots. Can't go back to the States until June/July because I wanted to get this 90k tax break. There's something about not taxed on your first 90k to avoid getting double taxed if you stay out of the states for 330days out of the year. So yeah, I'm "stuck" traveling. My life sucks, I know .

Went to Macau a few times this week, it's quite fun and a change of pace. Lot's of Singaporean regs. Live players thought processes are quite different from those of online, same with valuelines/blufflines ect. Also picking up on a lot of live tells #lollivetells. Picking out regs and fake leveling. I must sound like such a live fish. But yeah it's pretty different from online and I find it interesting picking apart how people think. Prob wouldn't ever do live for a living, environment (heavy smokers all about) really sucks and it is a grind sometimes.

Day 1 I got instapegged as an internet kid and got too much credit in the beginning and ran really hot for the last 2 hours getting paid off every time. Ran KK into AA vs a old Chinese nit though and we got it in postflop on Q55hhss after I 3bet pre, bet flop and jammed turn.

Let's see if I can remember any other hands...

Oh there's one where I 3barreled KJ on K96ssx 7x Ax and got jammed on the river for 1.2k more into like an 8k pot and I folded. Pretty lame and I think it's correct but I dunno. It was the first hand I played vs some young reggish guy with headphones. That's when I realized I should be paying attention to stack sizes.

Later in the day after being pegged I got 3bet with KK CO3 vs CO2(me) by some Singaporean who just sat down and had friends at the table. He saw me open a few too many hands. Anyways I flat pre then flop comes JTxr, I check call flop because I think x/r is way overrepping my hand in the sense that I scare off all worse (even AA prob) plus I should give him a chance to hang. Turn binked Kx and I check call again. River is essentially a brick and he tanks and bets and I jam for 2.5k more into a 24k pot and he folds. I show a King and the table goes wild. lol.

Day 2 started off really sucky, 1. I didn't adjust correctly in the beginning [I only realized this later on but felt really good when I did] 2. was card dead for the better part of the day. Live must really suck if you're carddead for like even 10k hands (which is probably like 400hours). What is that I grinded on New Years and there was this huge Chinese businessman who didn't even know how to play and was punting off 10k stacks like it was toiletpaper (probably was to him). Unfortunately he was gone within the 2 orbits playing like 90vpip and I didn't have a single hand. There were also a bunch of Chinese businessmen and young day trading millionaires at 100/200, 300/600. They would stick in like 8k preflop at 20kNL. I could have "shortstacked" (lol100bb) but I don't have that much HKD on me. Oh and there was this cute Japanese girl who kept 3betting/squeezing my opens but my stack was too large to 4bjam. Still should have 4bjammed into her. #nomsayin #notsothinlyveiled

Yay for rich Chinese businessmen, Taiwanese birrionaires and day trading degens!

---

Only remember a few hands. Think live most of the time you need to post so you don't look like a huge nit to the fish/regs. So first hand I post, UTG (older looking Japanese guy) opens 5x, I look down at KJs and flat, flop goes 3 or 4 way.

Flop QJxr,

UTG cbets, fold, I flat, fold.

Turn QJxr 9x
UTG checks, I think for a minute and check back.

River QJxr 9x Xx

River's a brick and he bets a healthy 2/3 and I think a bit and call, he shows AA. Think river is probably a fold and I think I played it okay up until the river. I find out later on that flop can be a fold because the UTG (turned out to be a nit) wasn't really cbetting when he missed unless he was tilting.

---

Later on vs the same nit

I'm UTG with 78 and I limp

reason being that I found out that you have like 0 fold equity pre and post. I'm no longer leading any of my draws because I end up getting raised multiway on the flop a lot or jammed on the turn by shortys. Anyways the limp is even better in this spot because right behind me is some Chinese fish midish stack who hasn't been folding to any of my opens and basically floating all my cbets. Along with 4 young Singaporeans who were taking turns squeezing all my opens with the fish in between. Pretty much had the worst seat at the table so I played really nitty in Day 2.

Anyways, limp, fish calls, fold, H1 nit calls, Singaporean 1 5x isos, fold, fold, fold, BB coldcalls, I call, fish calls, nit calls.

Flop is K62r (2100)
BB checks, I check, fish checks, nitfish, Sing checks

Turn 5x (2100)
BB checks, I lead like 1.2k, fish calls, nitfish raises to 4.8, BB folds, I tank a bit and call, fish folds.

River 4x (11.7)
I check, nitfish instaleads 5k, I tank and jam for like 10k more and he crysmoans a bit and calls. He says he had 43.

---

Later on again with the nitfish after I stacked him

UTG1 QT

Fold, Open, fold, nitfish calls, Singaporean 1 calls, fold, fold, fold, BB calls.

Flop T54
I cbet, nitfish raises, fold, fold, I tank and think a bit. Nitfish then says I'm just mad at you without any shake in his voice but also not in a loud tone or anything to signify that he's actually mad. I can probably just fold flop but I decided to peel.

Turn K
I check, he glances at his chips and checks behind

River K
I check, he thinks a bit and then bets out 5k, I go into tank. Then with all things considered I fold. It's probably an easy fold actually but yeah considering the info I got in the first hand we played, his raise/bet check bet line doesn't seem to be a bluff. He seemed rather disgusted when I folded, which also makes me feel goot.

Witnessed AA vs AA vs KK, KK did not get there unfortunately (KK was the fish). fish limp, nitfishraise, sing3 3bet, fish coldcalls, nitfish 4bets, sing3, 5bets, fish coldcalls again, nitfish 6ball in, sing3 call, fish call

Oh and probably the most interesting hand was reg on reg violence 15kish deep.

MP(reg who looks like Di Dang) opens, CO3 calls, BTN calls, BB calls.

Flop A37

Fake(?)Di cbets, CO3 raises, fold, fold, Di tanks, calls

Turn T

Di checks, CO3 bets, Di tanks and jams, CO3 think calls,

River FD bricks off

Di flips KKx and wins

I mean I guess CO3 had a flushdraw and doesn't really rep anything by raising flop. Still thought it was interesting though.

---

Fwiw, I don't think all live players are that bad. In fact some of the regs are pretty good. When you play live you're often deep, so many of the preflop mistakes that you think they're making aren't really that big, especially if they have some sort of edge postflop. Even if their edge isn't that big, the stacks are just so deep that their small preflop mistakes are negligable. I don't even think limping is a bad live strategy. Also I'm sure they're better at live handreading than me in some spots though I'm getting better.

I do think there are a lot of things people do that make it pretty obvious about their intentions at the table. Obviously the more experienced live players don't give off as much tells.

Ended up losing 3.1k the first day and winning 26.5k the 2nd day.

Oh and I saw someone who looked like Johnny Chan and asked him for a picture but he looked at me like I was crazy and ignored me. Confirmed later with a friend Johnny Chan was playing 100/200+ at the Wynn so it was likely him.

Finally watched Sherlock Holmes in theatres. I liked it, lots of action and lols.
Spoiler:
Only thing that I thought was weak was the storyline. Could have been better but that's kind of standard now adays for movies. Maybe I'm just expecting too much.

Having a pretty good start to the year. Will likely go to Macau and make another live run sometime soon. Hear Gus Hansen is over there .

New reg (assumed from Costa Rica location and autoreload) tried something fun. If he's who I think he is, he plays FR normally. He doesn't rep anything at all but nice try anyways. Think his riverbet is way too big and he really only gets me to fold missed draws which he beats anyways. I'm not c/fing any pair and it's unfortunate for him that I can handread I suppose.

Saw this a while back. As a fellow American cash grinder I'm posting so I read this thread more and maybe learn something about this poker game.

Where are you playing now or is all of that on Merge? PM?

Did you get the extra joy of killing the 50NL table after busting that 70BBer

what do you prefer. The nitty fit or fold regs of merge and the few fish with a lot of massive nitty fish..

or euro games with massive aggro or massively passive fish and regs who raise every single flop and 3bet every single open?

I just started playing on merge and i feel you can get away with raising J2s+ from any pos and 42s+ and get away with it at least at 100 and 200. Dont know what to make of it right now
