Busted out shoving KJ with 3 big blinds and getting called by 98 in the big blind. He hit all the eights in the deck and we finished 6th. Blinds were going up every 7mins and everyone was pretty low on BB.

I was just timebanking in the small blind so the blinds would go up next hand. Had garbage.

Played a bunch of tourneys today again and more 200nl. Played ok. Won a little bit at the cash games. I should probably just stop playing tourneys and just focus on cash but tourneys are just too much damn fun.

So if the pool plays the same as 2nlz on Stars did, then I love the idea of flatting monsters like 2pr+ to keep them in the pot.

H2: I took a very similar line in a 2/5 live game on the first page of my old PG&C, where I had an overpair, faced a tiny donk bet on a wet turn card, and decided to flat turn, then overbet jam river. Villain must've put me on a busted draw because he made the hero call and I was good.

Keep it up man. Creativity is good.
Thanks. Yeah you gotta mix it up to keep your opponents guessing.

3k woulda been 30 buyins which is enough to be "aggressive" to try and grind 100NL. Instead you're playing 200nl and firing tournaments with some that are costing over $200. Don't know how long it would take you to stash aside 3k from your job but it's not even gonna take a semi normal downswing to bust your roll playing the buyins you currently are, just a couple days. I get that you played 5/10 in LA for quite awhile and it's hard for you playing smaller, but unless if you get "lucky" and bink a mtt (which btw most live $300-1ks are overall much softer than $100-$200 buyins online including the sunday 150k on bonition) the chances of you making it back to those stakes live and being able to stay there are very slim on your current path. You need to swallow your pride, leave your ego behind, and start treating poker like a business if you wanna solid shot at it being a full time gig. I wish you nothing but the best, GL!
I almost listened to you and just busted myself back down to 50nl or 100nl to just grind grind grind. Admittedly your advice is solid. And if I was playing 50 or 100nl I would be able to just put in more volume and not really sweat the results at all. Tourneys are such a crapshoot I really shouldn't be playing them. And 200nl is too big for my bankroll. It makes it harder to put in lots of volume because I have to be in the right headspace to handle the variance.

Maybe tomorrow I will just stick to cash games or maybe just fire one or two tourneys instead of just firing every tourney over $50.

You could get another job and bank over $1000 a week and put it all towards the live roll. Within 3 months you will have a roll for 2/5 live.

I think that ever since then I've wanted to be a professional poker player. And while I've won more than I've lost, I haven't really achieved it. I've been biding my time until now. This thread marks the start.

I'm up 5k in the last 2 weeks of playing. I was up about 1500 until this Saturday night I decided to play the 300-500 5-5 NLHE at Commerce Casino instead of the usual $200 3-5. I won 2700 over 5-6hours. I was playing without fear and everything worked out well for me. I had good cards and bad opponents. And then I decided to play 100-400 1-2 PLO last night. First time playing live PLO and I won 960. Easy game, so now I'm a PLO player?!? We'll see.

I'm sleeping in my car at the moment. It seems like the cheapest and most efficient option for now. I'm going to be spending any money I save on rent on Litecoin($50, 6/20/2017) instead. My goal is to have 30k liferoll by the end of this year(100k next year) and be playing poker professionally. I've never been able to separate a bankroll from the rest of my finances, its all just money to me.

The fact that you couldn't make it in the golden age means you should just give up on this degen game. I am a millionaire and have a 30BB winrate online. The fact is even if became pro I would make less than I make on my job not even taking into account health benefits, retirement plan or my sizable gift I get every year. As a result, even as a 30bb winning player i restrict myself to playing poker 1 day of the week.

If you spent your energy reading some books and improving yourself you could get much farther than you ever can with poker while at the same time doing something useful for society.

Thanks. Yeah I think I had like 25bb when I had the chip lead for a few minutes. Lost a pot with AT<A9 before the ft and just kind of folded my way to 6th after that. Tournaments are a crap shoot anyways I don't mind upping the variance to 11.

Yeah but do you have a pack of hot tatted up chicks that you smoke blunts with in the back of your van??

30bb winrate? Lol. Do you bumhunt micro games heads up? Have you played only 100 hands? If you could make 30bb/100 at the highest stakes online you'd be making tens of thousands of dollars per hour. No one cares if you make 30bb/100 over a small sample at micro games heads up. Also do yourself a favor and never say or write out "I am a millionaire" again. No one cares, it makes you sound like a douche-bag. You don't have to be a millionaire for me to listen to your advice.

What makes you think I don't read books and improve myself and do something useful for society? Read the whole thread knucklehead. And I did make it in the golden age, I've only worked a few years of my life, I was 16 when I started playing poker. I just was more focused on smoking pot and getting laid back then.

Having read the three posts you made in the last week I can see that you are coming into new money. I can also sense that you will not maintain it. The attitude you project is fear, not confidence, and scared money...well, you know the rest.

Played a handful of tourneys and 200nl for about 6 hours. No cashes, I think I won a small amount at 200nl.

I went to San Diego for a work conference this past week. Very picturesque location right on the water. It was more like a vacation then a work trip in my mind. I met a lot of different people from a lot of different countries. Romania, Malaysia, New Zealand, etc. So I've probably got COVID-19 corona virus now . It was a fun trip, got put up in a hotel. Got a free drink ticket at the event which of course prompted me to buy a couple more beers. Then the CEO took a few of us out to eat with a smart famous scientist at a really fancy restaurant. I ordered the cheapest thing on the menu which was a bowl of soup because I didn't want to impose. Also while at the conference the CEO and the VP saw me taking some photos and videos with my camera and asked me about it and I told them I could shoot video and do graphic overlay. So now I think I'm going to be taking some videos and editing them to demonstrate our products. Let's hope I do a good job and don't embarrass myself!

View from the restaurant.

I have some other pics of some sailboats and stuff that I took on my camera which I'll upload and post later.
