Yeah unless I flop two pair plus on a disconnected board I'm never in love with my hand. If I have the bottom end of a straight on a 678 board or something I wouldn't want to put all the money in because of all the combos of better straights and having no equity vs them. Not saying I would fold but I might.

Weeeeee I'm here! Writing on my phone. I got here at like 9 yesterday and was too scared to play so I just read for a few hours. Started reading dune. Then 5his morning also scared so I read for another 5 hours. Then eventually bucked up a d went to play poker at the Rio wandered around there for 30 mins lost and confused the poker room was closed. Then looked up the RIO convention center and figured things out . Got my Caesars reward card showed my clear pass and play some 5-10 for a few hours. Up 1714 so good first day back to live poker. I think I played pretty well. Had an older guy on my left who played in the super seniors was nice. I was scared because I hadn't done anything but go to the store since covid and also I've never played at the RIO. Last time I was in vegas was 2010 and I just played at the venetian. I went 3 times for ten days each and only played one casino. This time I'm trying to branch out and hope I don't just stick to the rio. I'd like to try resorts world and bellagio at least. Mini main event is tomorrow players were talking about it but pretty sure tournaments are stupid and I just should play cash games. I'm gonna go for a walk down the strip and relax.

I'm on page like 350 in dune that's how much reading I've done, what a pussy!

Thanks. Yeah I think most of my fears stemmed from not being around anyone but my family for extended periods since covid. But after yesterday I feel pretty comfortable. I wandered around the strip for a while drinking a couple Coronas along the way. It was nice being outside around other people. I stopped at the venetian and played some 2-4 which I didn't know anywhere spread that live. Had another couple of coronas while playing and lost a few hundred not playing well, not terrible either, and then walked back to the rio. No more drinking till after the main event. And I don't think I'll really want to drink anyways, unless I win, I'm not really big on booze.

When I woke up this morning my orange juice tasted funny like it had no taste.... uh oh.... that kind of freaked me out. But then by noon or so everything tasted normal so I'm not sure what that was, feeling fine now. Had a bit of a hangover from the beers so I didn't play today just did a lot of reading. Also didn't want to risk losing. Plan is to get started early tomorrow and play a lot of 5-10. Games should be pretty good tomorrow main event is starting tomorrow. I wonder what the biggest games available will be?

Anyways I drank a lot of water today, gonna be eating well, getting good rest, and staying hydrated. I'm gonna play Day 1D on Sunday. Hopefully we get some rungood and make a deep run!

You've played a bunch of donkaments online, think ya got a good shot of hittin the money then after that anything is fair game for you as long as you don't play scared. A win or 7 figure score would be absolutely sick on top of your 6 fig win online and one of the better stories in poker imo. Hope you get it man, GL!!!!!!!

I lost around 700 today. No big deal. I went in earlier today and played for two hours literally won zero hands so I left ate some food and came back an hour later and got a much better table. The new table everyone was very deep like 4k plus. I bought in for 1300. It was the united nation's of poker tables. There was a Korean, a Japanese, a Chinese American, an Argentinian, a Lithuanian, an Indian (american?), and a woman. Lol, no but seriously the lady wanted to know everyone's nationalities but wouldn't reveal her own. She was bronze skinned and had an accent. The game was very good there was a lot of money being tossed. There was a lot of straddles and we were doing 50 dollar bomb pots to pay for the time.. I only played one big hand. I had AJcc button straddle 20 small blind Indian guy calls I raise to 80 my, Argentinian calls on the button and Indian calls. Flop J93xcx we all check, I was kind of hoping for Argentinian to stab at it. Turn is 7c and Indian guy bets 150 I think about it and decide going allin is best. 400 out there we have 1155 top-top and nut flush draw. I also think this line will look fishy like I have AKcc or something like that. Argentinian folds and Indian guy calls. Asks if I want to run it twice and I say it's up to him, so he decides twice. First river is an 8, second river is an offset queen. He has QJ and we chop. Got unlucky for him to hit his 2 outer, oh well. Not much more to report, not many hands of consequence.

Also the 5- 10 players are in a different section with nicer chairs and tables and there's a little snack room with a bunch of free food, I had a roast beef sandwich and a turkey blt today. Both pretty tasty. The other day I had a turkey and cheese croissantwich.

Yeah the cognicenti at the poker table seemed to agree day 1B or Day 1D would be best. Day 1A is supposedly reg heavy. And days 1a1b1d are all combining to day 2a and days 1c1e1f are combining to day2b. And most of the euros are playing on day 1e and 1f so hopefully 1D will be softer. We shall see, table draw is gonna be a huge factor in our success.

Yeah thanks I agree. I just felt like losing yesterday would have bothered me so I took the day off. I'm really only in vegas for one thing and that's the main event! It's my sole focus the cash games are incidental. I finished reading dune today, and I thought it was pretty good.

Interesting hand from yesterday, 20 button straddle there are like 4 limps and Argentinian raises to 200 from small blind, only Indian guy calls. Flop KK3hss, Argentinian bets 150 Indian guy calls. Turn Ts Argentinian bets 250, call. River Jx Argentinian checks and Indian guy bets 650. Argentinian thinks for a long time about 5min and the Indian guy calls time another couple mins the floor arrives and around the 5 second mark the Argentinian jams allin for about 2750 or so lol. Whole table seems miffed and Indian guy said something about "hollywooding" then thinks for about a minute and calls. Argentinian has T7os and Indian guy has KT. What a punt! Serious hang time on that punt, crazy...
