I booked a $231 win in NYC, won a big pot with top pair and faded a draw. Booked a $236 win at Taj, then another $400 win later on yesterday. This is normal. Just putting in the hours and grinding up a few grand playing 1/2. Sidenote, comped rooms are booked until after the holiday, I found myself crushing a Denny's value breakfast at 5am this morning with my buddy Joey. Back to the wild session. I take $300 out of my pocket and sit down at table 60 at harrahs at 2pm today. Soft table, some older guys, what have you. I look down at 77 my first hand and open to 8 from the co. Btn with 100 behind makes it 17. I call. Flop 237 rainbow. I check, he shoves. I call. I stack him, he had AK. My second hand I have 10 10. Open to 8. 3 callers. Flop 10 3 5ddd. Guy leads small, I raise he flats. Turn 8c he checks I bet 75 he ships for 175 on top, I call. River is 5c. My tens full scoops the 500+ pot. He had AKdd lol. My third hand I have As7c on 7s 2s 3s Ad x. 3 streets of value. In a span of three hours I flop 6 sets and get paid off on all but one. I had 33 on AJ3ss and donked into the pf raiser to induce some spaz but he folded. Then I have 3 4 off from bb. Flop 3 4 Jhh I lead. One caller. Turn is a 3. Check check. River is a heart. I bet 125 into 40 and get the guy with 10 8hh to pay me off. I had KJ on 109Qxx, I iso with Q10cc and flop J89cc. Stack another guy. In all my time playing poker I've never had a rush like this. I had KK 4 times, JJ a few times. Ended up losing a pot with KK when a guy with A2 floats me and hits an ace. My last hand I have 64hh on 643h. Bet. 2 callers. Turn 8h. I bet like 31 guy calls, other guy moves in with 70 total. I over shove 300 to get the other guy to fold his naked 5. He had calling chips in his left hand. He obliged and threw A5 into the muck faceup. Other guy ended up having 84cc. Oops. Then I had KK and lost the absolute min on Q4426 and I was 100% sure he had 22. I wanted to fold to his river bet lol, but ended up paying him off. I'm only human. At any rate, it was a vicious, wild, ridiculous 3 hour session. I cashed out $990, and I was a little upset to be honest. Oh well, the floor comped me $15. Over the past three days I'm up over $1,500 playing 1/2. Run good+sick play=lethal. My roll is a little above $3,500 at this point and I've been all over the country this year. Freerolling in life. I'm with it.
Hey Mike gotta couple of questions how you played ur hands & some likely scenerios if you don't mind, I'm mostly a tourney player so whatever i can learn from a "Live" cash pro than Great

With that 77 in ur first hand. What if the flop came different such as
238? You ch & he ships what would go through ur mind at that point? Is he goin in with a str8 draw, being a donk and just trying to get paid off with TT or something. As you've been playing live for a while, do u notice alot of guys just shipping with AK when hitting absoulety nothing on the flop?

Also with ur 34 hand where u win a huge pot. Betting that 125 into that 40. Is that something typically you do to NON poker players and know u can get paid off pretty easily? Would like it if you could explain ur strategy there a lil bit. If anyone ever did that to me on the river I'd be like WTF Yo! lolz

Grandmaster Wolf - every time I read this thread I get the itch to go play some live cash! Due to my saving for a monster Euro-trip at the end of the year this hasn't been possible, but at the start of the week I came into some money so thought I'd treat myself and headed to Star City (Sydney) for some pokerz and had a sick session! +880 in under 4 hours - share the rungood brother!

At the risk of derailing the thread I'll just mention two hands -

First, UTG straddles $6 (not live), a couple of callers, I flat BTN with 2 black 4's. BB makes it $25, straddler calls and so do I. UTG is pretty decent and starts with ~$700. His range is pretty narrow here and since I start the hand with a little over $400, I'm looking to double up when I flop my set. UTG is the crazy Asian who was running a lot of big bluffs and playing almost ATC preflop. Had built up a stack of ~$650 so again, I double up if he goes crazy.

Flop comes 44Qr. Check-check-check. Turn 10. Check-check, I bet $35 into $80. BB calls, UTG thinks for a minute before making it $115. I tank for a few minutes before sliding in the call. In this spot he rarely has a made hand. It's either 10's full, some kind of J8/J9/AJ type hand he's semi bluffing with or he has total air. BB folds and afterwards claims AQss. Sick fold.

River 5. UTG asks me how much I have left ($313) and quickly bets $205 and folds to my snap shove. Ship the $750 pot.

Second, my last hand of the night - BB with 25ss. UTG, who's pretty average and opening quite wide makes it $8 with $250 behind. CO calls with $140 behind, BTN calls as do I. Flop 6A4 with one spade. UTG bets $16, CO calls and I throw a call in for good measure. Pot ~$75. Turn 3h putting two hearts on board and giving me the second nuts. UTG has been betting big on multiple streets with top pair, particularly on wetter boards, and I'm about 90% sure he's going to fire again with all of his aces, so I check. Sure enough, UTG bets $50, CO calls with $80ish behind, and I decide to flat with the intention of leading the river. If I raise here, I probably get the rest of the CO's stack, but UTG will fold all of his one pair hands. Earlier in the session I c/r him on a J95r flop with J9 and he doubled me up with AJ - he's not going to pay me off again if I c/r. I also feel like flatting and leading the river is going to look weaker, and if he does have a stronger hand he's going to make a crying call, plus I get the CO's stack.

River comes an offsuit 10. I'm praying UTG has the AT one time, so I lead for $140. In hindsight I think this may be a bit big, as UTG made a pained fold. I feel like $100 would've got called. As predicted, CO throws the rest of his chips in and I ship the pot. Easy game!

I felt like while I got lucky and made some hands, I also played a pretty solid session where I only showed down one losing hand in 3.5 hours, got away with a few bluffs and managed to maintain a very solid table image. I feel like reading this thread and the insights you and other live grinders have offered really helped me out at the table last night, and as a result I recorded one of the best, most mistake-free poker sessions I've ever played.

Keep us updated with your adventures, sessions and sick lifestyle hombre! Hope you continue to run good! Ship it!

QJ guy is strange. Mike did a nice job of pretending the interviewer wasn't a creeper. Also, hair puts me in the mind of Elvis.

insane, just curious, how do you manage to get all these comp rooms?

I'm a professional casino games player, and I find it difficult to get saturday rooms in the summer time. Though part of my difficulty is because I'm playing under fake names half the time due to the fact that I'm not welcome under my real name at some places...

And how the hell did you stay at the taj for 2 months straight? I can only book 2 nights or 3 nights a week at a place comped, and I'm rated for like 300 bucks a hand at table games and have premium cards at every place I play at. In fact, right now I'm going through a host to get my comp rooms because otherwise I can't get it. (I generally avoid hosts because a host is nothing but trouble when I eventually get backed off at a place)

If you play $300 a hand, quit one hand early, game over, room is automatically comped. Grab a beer at the bar also.

Flying frontier out of laguardia to Denver for a connecting flight to Vegas. Got a prime spot right next to an outlet in a comfy chair at the gate. Went for drinks in the meatpacking district and saw a Laidback Luke concert at Governors island in NYC before I left. Put in some family time and hung out with my younger cousins and sister. Balancing life helps me to be a better poker player. Prob going to put in a 3 hour session tonight before the bluff party tonight at sapphire. Updates on twitter for sure. Quadjacks party and the 2+2 party in the next few days. Feel free to say what's up at the Wynn! Coming off a huge trip to AC so I need to step up and continue to crush. Check this out, Jason from surebet purchased a $3500 one hour lesson from Phil Hellmuth with the proceeds going to charity. So on the 11th me, Jason, and Hellmuth are going to sit down for an hour haha! Will video record it on iPhone and post on Facebook. Anything you guys want me to ask him?!?
