Any talk of writing off means you have to file as a professional gambler and with that you get to net your total for the year instead of claim winning sessions as income and then take off losing sessions, which is good but then you have to pay 15% self employment tax on top of what tax you owe.
That really only work out good for you if your a traveling tourney pro with lots of Plane, hotel, car, gas, etc. expenses.
