I honestly think I can teach a bunch of NLHE concepts that I've never read about or heard discussed anywhere, but it's true there are already tons of "how to play NLHE" sites/books/etc out there. I think it'd be better to specialize in either NLHE or PLO but not both, meh.

actually I'm really curious about the games in Tunica. I'd definitely play if there was 2/5 PLO+ or 5/10 NLHE+ but I don't think those games run often?

Went to Tunica once... Saw no reason to ever return. There just isn't much outside of the casinos. It's just casino land, which is depressing.

As for the games... I believe it's mostly 1/3 NL except on the weekends.

Once WPO is in Tunica, if the games are good I'll just live inside a casino there for a couple weeks. In Vegas I almost never left the Rio anyway lol.

Just posted a Concept of the Week article in microsFR (don't worry, applicable to all stakes) about turning made hands into bluffs here:

yea, I can understand that. There are at least a few casinos to choose from, which is nice. I was at Harrah's. fwiw, the dealers were pretty incompetent. I was just playing 1/3NL (500max), having some fun with my buddy... but I can still remember how poor the dealers were.

There were multiple instances (with different dealers) where I would bet say $45, and the dealer would just eyeball the chips and say "thirty-five." lol... Not only did they announce bet amounts without even touching the chips, but their eyeballing was often way off.

So my first video is nearing completion...

Although sometimes I feel like I should just make League of Legends videos. The decent ones all have millions of views on youtube whereas the most popular poker clips I can find of Ivey, Negreanu, etc. only have like 500k views tops.

How are you making the videos? Did you use some sort of live cash game or an online session?

The one major advantage Bart has is his access to all the Live at the Bike video.

well my first one is... well it's my first one so I'm starting super simple just for experience and seeing how it turns out. I'm running into issues where I'm not sure how much terminology I can use and what I need to explain (like can I just say stuff like VPIP or do I have to define it?). It's a powerpoint.

But yea it's a learning experience for me so I think I'm just gonna put one out and see how it goes.

Have a link to a glossary for terms and acronyms you use. Won't delay/annoy those who know nor alienate those who do not.

Agreed to go to my original stomping grounds at Oaklawn Racing and Gaming in Hot Springs, AR with a friend tomorrow (today? meh, in like 12 hours). SUPER EXCITED. The guys at the start of this thread who said I'd be sick of poker in a year couldn't be more wrong. Most likely will only have a couple 1/2 NLHE tables but they might possibly have 1/2 PLO!

In more serious personal life news, I just got rejected trying to get back together with the girl mentioned in the first post of this thread (who was my best friend before, while, and after we dated, and still is my best friend). There's nothing I want more than to marry her... but sadly she's not interested. I'm surprisingly at peace with it though, been busy seeing friends back home/working on PLO videos/etc. I feel kind of silly writing about this on 2+2, in the sense that a hopeless romantic story doesn't belong in a place where most stories involving women are about hookers. But hey, that's me. lolgirlproblems

Don't worry, we all thought you were lame already.

Nothing in life is "meantr to be" things happen or they don't, all you can do is accept it and move on.

I have this view of life as well, easier said than done but that's basically what I'm doing.

Thanks for the comments on the seat open interivew. I listened to it and noticed I said "like" about 50 times and "um" about 100 times, but oh well. Working on that for my videos...

The first video is about why people should play PLO. The audio is already recorded, the powerpoint is made, I just need to find a good tool to put them together (or alternatively, I wouldn't mind re-recording it if I find some good software that I can do both at the same time and isn't too expensive).

Aesah, loving the thread, and commend what you're doing. I myself was working a crappy casino job here in LA (banker/3rd party player) and am playing MTTs online now. Do you ever find live PLO8 games in LA? Those seem damn near impossible to come by but are insanely fun.

all good don't stress on that. sure after a few videos you'll get the confidence down and will avoid the "like" and "um" pattern pretty much any public speeking noob falls into.

excited to check out your material, and interested to hear your reasoning about why everyone should play PLO

Man I forgot how awesome 1/2 is. First hand I open KQo to $15 from UTG+1, 5 callers. Flop A62r, guy bets $10 into $75, only me folds. Turn Q, guy bets $5 into $115, 2 folds, 1 call. River 7, check/check and guy wins $125 pot with A3o.

Everyone has over 100bb too, hope it'll be a good night.
