So the trip to Tampa to watch the Rays play the Twins was a success!
Drove through Crystal River on the way down and stopped at a few places to do some Antiquing lol Wound up finding this Turtle <3
I had another one that I gifted to a friend for inspiration during their recovery, so it was a surprise to be able to find another one with a different, yet still motivational message!
When we got to the stadium to buy the tickets, there was a family giving away 2 tickets for free
The seats had cushions and were in the press box, so the they were pretty bomb!
Came back from being down 4-2 and win the game 5-4!
Although there weren't a lot of people in the stadium, the was no lack of enthusiasm
I also got to pet and feed the Stingrays!
Absolutely had a great day
Get to grab that 30 day chip for my sobriety today, and after meeting with my support group gonna play a small $20 tournament with a few of my sober friends.
The most memorable part of yesterday was something that a woman shared during the morning meeting that I went to, she said "Great things happen to drunks that don't drink." For me, that couldn't be more true.
As hard as this has been at times, I wouldn't want to give up my sobriety for anything.
One other thing that I have heard and actually come to understand is "The first thing you put before your recovery, will be the second thing you lose" so I've been putting my recovery before all else, with no regrets.
Also, last weekend I listened to that interview I did with poker fraud alert, and I see myself in a much different light now than I had then. I honestly believe that if it were not for this thread, and those who have reached out to me because of it, I would never have been able to look at how far I've come now and believe in the opportunity I have. Never have I been able to see how delusional I was, how broken and hopeless I had become. I have never had to face it, and with this I can.
With this, I finally I have hope that I can keep my head out of the clouds. Thank you all for everything. <3
