The journey of a lost boy in the big poker world. I am new to the poker world and my goal is that I am going to try and develop my game into being a winning player. I have no immediate monetary goals other than consistently being a winning player.

I have deposited $500 into my AP account and well as much as I would like to say I am going to get to $5,000 by the end of the year, I would very much rather just consistently win and move up in the stakes. I am starting out at 25NL. 4 tables. Full Ring.

Let's see where this goes......to be continued

I have played 4 sessions so far. First session I made about $100.00, but was not aware of PT3 software. Since my initial purchase of PT3 I have tracked my progress. My game is still sort of erratic. I know I need to play better and learn more, but that is the case for everyone on this thread right? we are here to help each other improve.

7/29 played 35 hands just to tests out the PT3 software = +5.19 result
7/27 played 1,446 hands. Ran really bad and played like a donkey = -160.69
7/28 off day to review all the hands played on the 27th.
7/29 played 648 hands. fairly descent, gotta work on picking spots = +73.07
7/30 played 567 hands. I opted to play 200NL and 3 25NL tables. = +218.27

Account total = $738.03

I know my game has a lot of holes, I think I am being honest with myself, not thinking I am good at all. Although it is nice to be in the green, I have to improve my game tremendously if I want to do this longterm. My graph looks so bad and I do consider myself a fish. Hopefully I can improve and keep my game consistently green. I would like to get my stats lower and becomes a tighter player.

If anyone can tell me how to post graphs and stats from PT3 that would be great as I would like to share that with the community. Thanks guys. Good Luck!!!!

@Mark89er - I have yet to see Toy Story 3. I really want to. I love Buzz Lightyear. I love poker. Thanks for your response. Any tips on poker books, etc that I can use to improve my game?

WTF? Playing NL200 with a 700 dollar bankroll? U need 4K to play there with a bad bankroll management. U can se the strategy sections here in 2p2 and I think that harrington on cash games is about fr so its a good book for u. GL

@Ten shin zaga - I'm just trying out some tables here and there see where I fit in. I am well aware that my bankroll is not sufficient enough to handle a 200NL game. I really was just curious as to how my skill level compares to them. I don't think I am anywhere near the level of 200NL.

Today I played a few tournaments. First time playing. I am still sticking to my initial 25NL games, but since it was a saturday decided to try. I busted out of the first tournament quick. I signed up for another tournament (nothing big. first one was $20 and second was $5.) I was short stacked on my 2nd tournament and I was dealt QQ (I don't know why the hand below says 100NL, but I was in a tournament). Well two people went all in, I would have won but I folded. A few hands later I busted out with a flush draw. Would anyone call this?? I'm down about $40 for the day, but I am currently 12th place in a tourney which hasn't ended yet. Update to come.

Lost another tournament. I played pretty descent for a newb. I felt I held my own. I think I messed up at the end as I was on the bubble to get cut off. I suck at playing pocket pairs.

Played 911 hands = +57.10

BR total = $760.82

I need to focus more on improving my game and not worry so much about building bankroll. If I get my game to perfection the $$$ will come. I am probably going to go thru my hands tonight and see where I goofed. I know I ha a few questionable ****** donk moves.

What a day. I learned a lot today playing. Good Luck everyone!!!!

Today was HORRIBLE. This whole community is going to flame me for not following bankroll management. I am fully on tilt after the session that I had. Please bear with me as I am still learning.

Today I decided to play 200NL again. I know what a donkey I am. I got greedy. I need to learn some discipline soon otherwise I am going to lose my whole bankroll. I was doing so well too.

-528.56 for the session.

Total bankroll is now $236.81. I had 1 hands that just completely put me over the edge and it all went downhill from there. I am kicking myself in the ass for tonight. FML!!!!!

Start grinding 10NL. You know you need to manage your roll better but you need to find the discipline to actually do it

Sorry guys I haven't been posting on here lately. I bought the Harrington series and will not be playing until I am done reading. Hope the first volume can bring wonders to my game. Good Luck!!

Yo. Play when you have 20 buyins for a certain limit. So play 10NL.

Even starting out at 25NL as your first I think is a mistake regardless of roll, because people there are quite a bit better than poker newbies. Any 25NL reg could crush 1-2 live poker, for example

Also after reading a few books you're gonna think you're god's gift to poker. Then after you play a lot more you'll realize that you don't know anything. So try not to bust your bankroll before you come to this realization
