Wow. Bankroll $3002. Glad I included that 2$. Today I lost 4k in 20 minutes. Oh how times have changed.
Ultimately the whole bankroll management thing is dependant on your own situation.
Specifically to me speaking, if you gave me 3k to my name (liferoll, not just poker money), I would feel completely comfortable playing 500max 2/5 at Foxwoods or Bellagio. Of course it's possible I lose 3k, but I feel like that would be quite the downswing that I don't think I'd experience very often.
I understand this is almost completely contradictory to what most on this forum say and I'm a very special little flower, but I think people are wayyyy too nitty with their bankroll management.
The problem people have is that they lack the ability to move down when the game isn't good or they aren't playing their best. That's when your bankroll takes real hits. You can definitely take a shot if you have the ability to move down, a lot of people want to label themselves a "2/5 player" "5/10" player etc.
It's a bad way to think and an even worse way to operate.
I can't give you a specific number because it's too unique of a situation. I can tell you my number is about 3k to play 2/5 500max. I'd feel completely fine with that. If I lost 1500 I would play 1/2.
Be calculatedly aggressive. Play the best game you can afford to lose in is the best advice I can give here.
Don't go to bed a 1/2 player and wake up a 2/5 player. Play your game and when the bigger game looks worth playing and your confidence is fine, play it then. Don't play bigger just for the sake of playing bigger.
