I was talking about blinds play because that's where most out of position play happens.

I'd definitely fold KJ/QJ UTG or even MP, if I expected to be flatted a ton in position.

Ok. I almost always open QJ/KJ from MP; UTG it really depends on the table I'm at.

My problems are mostly of this kind - Assume unknown villain and 100bb effective stacks. I open AJ UTG, CO calls, everyone else folds. Flop comes KJ3r. What line do I take ? Do I x/f ? b/f ? If x/c, what do we do on different turn cards ?

Current BR - 272

Villain's a massive fish seeing almost every flop and loves pocket pair . Still was a tough call for me.

    I don't believe you.
EVERYONE tilts to some extent at some point, even if it is only small adjustments to your game. maybe you just play your B-game instead of A-game. it is a huge part of this game to except tilt in whatever form it may be and not just ignore it.

btw i do advise using a HUD as a norm, but i think it is good to play without it every now and then to refresh and make sure you're not relying on it too much.

I'm usually very harsh on myself but I honestly haven't seen myself tilt so far. Maybe because the amount I'm playing doesnt really matter to me is why I dont tilt right now, we'll see if it stays the same way from NL25. Also like you said, it could be that I'm playing my B-game and that I just dont notice it.

HUD makes me lazy and there are a lot of stats that takes a lot of hands to converge. Vpip and pfr are the only ones which converge to their true value quickly but they dont really tell me how the villain will play postflop or how aggressive he is with his draws etc afterwards.

    GL to you too !

Villain's an aggressive reg who loves to squeeze from the blinds but will fold to a 4bet. I called as I had position and wanted to get more money in the pot as I likely had the best hand. Flop comes, I have TPTK and nut flush draw. I smooth call, the large bet however alerts me that he could have KK/AA here.

Turn card makes no difference and I call again.

River villain shoves and I'm thinking that this guy puts me on AQ/KQ/QJ kinda hand and that I wont fold to any bet and hence pushes his KK/AA.

However, the hands that have me beat are full houses. Would villain have squeezed pre with 44/22 ? Very unlikely. If he did have QQ, he would have slowplayed otf to reel me in. I called, he shows 44. Owned.

        End of the month summary

        January Goal Review

        January Goals

        [x] 36k hands - 39k hands played
[x] Firmly established at NL5 at least - Accomplished, ready to move to NL10
        [x] Get BR up to 300 - Current BR - 301
[x] Achieve SilverStar - Completed by Jan 17

I initially swung down on NL2 by 20 buyins or so but then was really helped by the confidence boost by the study group I joined to take a crack at NL5 and that went fantastically well. The winrate could be much higher but I've experimented a lot with my game which is necessary for learning.

Yeah I found this too when I went to move to 16nl this month, there are at least twice as many 25nl tables running. The field for 25nl is heaps bigger so I think there's more fish, you should just jump straight into the 25nl games imo
