On the flip side, they will over call with JT, KQ, KT, AT, QT.

I don't think KQ/KT/QT raises you on the river, so that leaves AT and JT.

We really should have gone broke here snap shoving over the top of her raise. Majority of the time, your JJ in this spot is the nuts AINEC.

Now, if we had JT, that sucks and we could actually fold that in this spot vs a competent reg since its basically the bottom full house. But with JJ we beat the most probable JT and AT full houses like red-headed step children and really are only worried about AA but since there was no 3-bet pre we should be severely discounting AA. And I would never let my worry of quads keep me from getting max value. So this is a ship on river AINEC.

another way to think about this spot is this:

If Villain would have just shipped all-in here would you have folded your full house? If the answer is no, then what you are doing is ensuring you lose the maximum in this spot but on the flip side you aren't getting the most value when you are on the other side of the cooler and have the winning hand. That's why its important to ship it in these spots as viewed by the longterm if that makes any sense...
Thanks for the insight, AA is unlikely to cc pf, only one combo of TT left. I should just reship the last 300 with third nuts.

I destroyed the 1/3 at Orleans last night for 400bb despite losing KK vs AA aipf twice. Also won a promo for $200 so sick!

A 65 yo lady started talking trash and needling me after she bluffed me off AK high with A2s in a bvb pot. I thought it was hilarious.

June 2013

Total hours played- 100
Average hourly winrate- $36
Winnings- $3651

2013 YTD

hours played- 837
Average hourly winrate- $17
Winnings- $13986

Just curious, what were you doing at the Orleans and how do you decide which casino to grind each day?

Can the Orleans possibly have the best action?

I usually just decide where I am going on a whim. I like to change it up, kinda like putting the ipod on shuffle. Orleans has a pretty good 1/3 1-500 max game always running. They also have a movie theater there so I can play before date nights.

I've been sick the last couple days, maybe ate some bad food or something.

I am bringing back the mini challenge. Objective is 100 hrs in 11 days. I plan to play 10x10 hr days with a day off. I would like some input on possible embarrassing/ humiliating/ funny task I would have to do if I fail.

I have not forgotten I owe for the last failed challenge. There is an Indian food place across the street I have never tried. As soon as I get my camera and laptop back I'll go there and order the spiciest dish and film myself eating some with no water for the first minute.

Hey yo, you set a 200 hr goal for yourself this month, how is that coming? You've got 9 days left in June, how many hours a day do you need to put in?

Not that I think that sheer volume is everything in poker, but I would love to see you follow through on a goal you set. It's cool to aim for the stars every time, but if you fall short every time, how do you know you are improving? That's the whole point of goals!

You may very well be right on track, in which case, way to go! It just seems like you are setting a new goal for yourself without actually finishing your current one. Just lookin out for you, get out there, play good, and run good baby!

man this sux. dont tell me another $1-2 game has changed to $1-3. such an action killer because at $1-3 instead of $1-2 u gotta fold the SB a lot more. totally destroys the action, and makes the games more nitty.

How about if you don't reach your goal you force some sort of poker task.
I was thinking forcing your self (next session) to sit at the table for 2-3 full orbits (not allowed to play a single hand) and take notes on action and player types. Obv look at your cards and pretend to be folding rags but really get some good info down on players and then play your game using these copious notes!!

"It's a struggle in its self to fold for 3 rounds. I'm sure you take notes on players and adjust accordingly. But this task is to instill discipline"
-All around good discipline is the difference between very successful players and the rest of the crowd!-
Gl sir
(Maybe you should try this w or w/o the goal reached)

One of the reasons I usually don't visit the Venetian while in Vegas is because they have 1/2 vs 1/3.

So tilting to read pureagression failing almost every goal.

I am just doing the mini challenge to help motivate me to hit my 200 hr monthly goal. I do think there has been some improvement in my game the last few months.

Yes it changed recently. I actually prefer 1/3 to 1/2 there are a few more bucks in the pot to cover the rake in limped pots. I don't think folding the sb slightly more often is that big a deal. There are just as many nitty 1/2 tables as there are 1/3 luckly there is plenty of opportunity for table selection in LV.

I like the idea of having to do a poker oriented task if I fail. I dont really like the suggestion of sacrificing 3 rounds of blinds for the sake of observation. I have already spent many hrs as a 7% vpip nit and actually used to get an odd satisfaction out of folding for 2 or 3 hrs straight with premium hands. I already pay close attention, follow action and assess showdowns wether or not I'm playing. I type up shorthand notes on villain based on seat # in my phone and figure out most players style relatively quickly. I can always improve and be more focused.
