I went to WSOP 2014, and miss Vegas so much!

Anyway, do you have some kind of Summary of how you got there where you are now?

I understand you started with a BR more than 1K, and kept grinding cash.

Would love to know How many BI you played the different limits, and if you played other games then Cash game?

God Bless!

4.5hrs per session is quite poor. Do you find yourself doing just the bare minimum to survive? This seems to be a problem that afflicts many pros.

After some time (maybe 3 to 6 hrs) do you just find yourself tired of poker and immediately head home? When I was grinding that was often the case with me. Instead of heading home have you considered walking the strip to another poker room? After like 30 minutes I think you'll find yourself refreshed and ready to play. There are so many casinos spreading 1/2 and 1/3 that it should be quite easy to put in 2+ sessions a day. You could even increase your volume while decreasing the number of days you play.

Great idea on the 2 separate sessions at different casinos to increase hours per day. The change of scenery might help as well. I'm going to try that out. Maybe a workout in between too.

I would think it would be better to rotate amongst maybe 3 rooms maximum for rewards purposes. Do you two do that or just play wherever. Managing that many cards would be difficult I would think and you might not get the rewards you deserve for all of your play and may not use all your rewards since you are playing at so many different places.

It's not like every casino has it's own reward card. The majority of the poker rooms on the strip are covered by Mlife or Total Rewards and then the only other big poker rooms are Venetian (Grazie card) and Wynn.

Ahhh. See I forget this. I am from the East and go to AC, CT, PA, everyone has their own rewards card and so my rewards are spread out, it sucks.

That makes things easier. You live in Vegas? You still play a good bit?

Very very very good advice. Perhaps some of the best advice I could have received when playing for a living.

One 8 hour session is grueling but two 5 hour sessions are a cake walk.

How are wait times on LV strip games? (I have zero clue)

I always phone in 1.5 hours beforehand to get into my game as soon as possible, and once you're out you might not be able to get back in for literally hours (conditions dependent). Course I guess you could save time by anticipating when you are leaving one LV strip game and phoning into another LV strip game?

Keep these gems coming! Still learning a lot how Vegas operates. Can you phone in for all games basically?

In the past when I've hopped between games it's mostly been in the middle of the night so plenty of open seats. However, it would definitely be wise to phone ahead in the daytime.

Vegas has a dynamic that is strange to me in that people put their names on the list and then they go somewhere else. So you get long wait lists but they can be called down pretty quickly. Also, you should know the casino's policy about call ins. For instance, at my local casino your name is removed from the list after 1 hr. Another thing that is always strange to me is that in Vegas you can only call in for low stakes games but not midstakes games. I'm used to the opposite where you can't (and don't need to) call in for low stakes games but can call in for 5/T+

Also, you can probably tip the floor and get preferential treatment on lists..especially if you are a local.

Yeah I just don't have much drive to play a lot of hours, most days I don't have much desire or urgency to get to the casino and once there I never feel like playing longer than 6 to 8 hrs. I think I kind of addressed this some earlier in the year, I would rather spend more hrs on my art or music than tack on more hrs of poker.

Sometimes I split up sessions with a meal break and switch casinos.

I just keep the stack of cards in my backpack, easy to keep track after living here years. They usually don't expire unless you are like inactive for 6 months.

Seems like a reasonable approach and has it's pros and cons vs the 8hrs straight. Although, I find myself sometimes leaving with the intention of playing another session but I end up back home and eventually decide to just wait until the next day to play again.

Most rooms on The Strip have a pretty good turn over (especially the big rooms) and are run pretty well by staff so wait is seldom an issue, but good to bring a book in case I have 15 min to spare. Most rooms allow 1 hr for call ins to check in which is plenty of time. Almost all are on Bravo so it's easy to scout and check # of games running and # on list.

Do you have to sign in to shop for rec or only at time of purchase is ID required? I got a NV medical recommendation letter back in June so that procedure of shopping is all I'm used to.

Most places have a lobby where they check your ID. Some have you wait in lobby for next available bud-tender or there is a line inside the showcase room.

Looks like all the broken image links have been restored. I assume 2+2 must have archived all the images or something. The thread is a lot better with the 1000+ pics over the last 6 yrs.

My condolences go out to the victims of the attack at Mandalay Bay. It is so surreal, I was just running by that festival 2 days ago and have been to concerts at that venue before. It is sickening and tragic, going to see if I can donate blood asap.
