Hey all,

My name is James and I'm in the pacific northwest.

I have been grinding PLO20/25 for a while now.

To hold me accountable to play well, I'm starting this thread.

I play mostly on merge nowadays.

Anyway, I will be posting results, graphs, interesting/perplexing hands, etc.

Hopefully, I will be able to keep this up.

Tentative Goals:

Play 2k+ hands/day

Rake $500+/wk (I get 50% RB)

Run Good

My current BR sits @ $1,288.11.

Cheers!

Hand #1

OK I don't know how to convert Hand History.

So here it goes.

Merge, $0.10/$0.25 Pot Limit Omaha Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: $25.78 (103.1 bb)
BB: $25.30 (101.2 bb)
UTG: $52.15 (208.6 bb)
Hero (MP): $36.43 (145.7 bb)
CO: $16.90 (67.6 bb)
BTN: $26.19 (104.8 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 7s As 5c 3d
UTG folds, Hero raises to $0.65, CO folds, BTN calls $0.65, SB folds, BB calls $0.40

Flop: ($2.05) Ah 4s 7d (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $1.36, BTN calls $1.36, BB folds

Turn: ($4.77) 3h (2 players)
Hero bets $2.38, BTN raises to $11.91, Hero folds

As soon as I clicked bet button, I was like WTF. By betting, I'm only getting called/raised by hands that beat me and will be chasing away all the hands that I beat with the exception of maybe A4.

I think, clearly, that I should have c/c to re-evaluate otr. I have 6 outs to a boat if I'm behind. I can also make a crying call otr to realize bluff catching equity.

By betting, I opened the door for villain to raise with his entire range to get me off.

So that was a mental blunder on my part.

************************************************** *************

I'm really beat so I'll just post more tomorrow.

Thx, guys, for reading.

James

I think your goals are quite bad, you should focus on winning rather than raking Xamount.

On the hand: I think i would Bet fold turn here alot because our equity might not even be 6 outs. Villain could have 77+fd or better. I prefer bet folding this spot. Check calling the turn for a possible 6 outs (obviously his bet sizing matters i think i would Check call for half pot and evaluate river, but if he had potted it i would fold and be happy about it.) seems quite terrible esp without implied odds.

Hey, thanks for reading. I am always open to constructive criticism and will always appreciate it. =)

As for the goal, I thought it was assumed that I would be winning. But I guess I needed to be clearer.

Therefore:

Addendum to "Tentative Goal"
Win 15bb/100+

There were a couple hands I would like to post. A couple hands I totally butchered. And some tilt inducing hands as well. I'll try to post the hands later tonight.

I'm going for a short nap and hopefully will be able to put in a sesh or two starting around 6 pm PST.

Hey guys,

Just finished the day.

Put in the longest session ever (4:24) since moving to Merge for 1679 hands.

I guess that's the only upside since it was a tough sesh. I started out being down 5 bi's and had to grind my ass back up to near even. You know how it goes. You are so close to even and then BOOM, you get coolered or sucked out on or w/e.

Down $10.69 for the session @ -6.37bb/100. =(

Cumulative Report: Feb. 22, 2012

BR @ $1,387.52

Net Won: $106.96

Win Rate: 9.36bb/100

Minutes Played: 780

Hands Played: 3,877

Total Raked: $86.03

I'm gonna go for a short walk and try to post some hands.

Cheers!

I don't know what I was thinking. Bare top two vs two opponents who are showing interest interest in the pot. I guess this is one of my leaks...thinking that since I have a blocker to top set...ugh....but so easy to give a set (222) to one and a draw to the other...and gtfo of the way.

    Again...UGH!!!

wow u tend to 3bet alot out of the SB with marginal holdings.

Hand 1: i check call here if the BB reraises and co ships its an easy fold.

Hand 2: i just call pre our hand is pretty good + if the BB comes along it would make it more worth while mulitway. As played on flop i Check call and donk/bluff alot of turns vs villains range.

Hand 3: 3bet pre. Good aces always gonna 3bet. No point 3betting rundowns then never 3betting AA. As played on the flop donk flop. Bet fold turn.(had u 3betted)

Hand 4: wellplayed nothing to see here, iam shoveling money in this spot everytime

Hand 5: Given ur preflop action fistpump that flop they can show up with 35xx. spades. btm set etc which we have decent equity against. Shove flop When CO raises not too worried when BTN calls cant fold too much dead money.

            1st Session

            MEH

At first, my computer started lagging and my HEM kept crashing which tilted me to no end. I took a short break @ around 250 hand mark. I was up $2 and change at this point.

Then after vacuuming indexes on HEM and restarting computer, I fire up 9 tables @ 25, all excited to attack the fishes and to rake $120 needed to get extra 5% of RB.

Apparently, the doomswitch found me. Quickly down 5 bi's + in a matter of 200 hands. =(

Grinded my ass back up yet again to even and I called for a break.

            UGH!!!

The tables keep breaking. I don't know what it is about today. =(

I don't like playing shorthanded...because I stack tables and I can't see action on the tables.

Like my tables nice and big so they fit my HUD w/ 25 stats. LULZ.

So another quickie sesh w/ only 208 hands. =(

I guess my quest for 55% RB for this week has failed. I needed to put in 3k+ hands today...only managed about 2k.

I think I have one more sesh left before the days done and over with. Hopefully, I could put in more than 1k hands then.

Thx Tyler for keep coming back!!

            Hand #1

Merge, $0.10/$0.25 Pot Limit Omaha Cash, 6 Players

              Hero (BB): $41.81 (167.2 bb)
              UTG: $146.94 (587.8 bb)
              MP: $26.33 (105.3 bb)
              CO: $48.98 (195.9 bb)
              BTN: $25 (100 bb)
              SB: $23.10 (92.4 bb)

              Preflop: Hero is BB with Q Q 9 9
UTG folds, MP calls $0.25, CO calls $0.25, BTN folds, SB completes, Hero raises to $1.25, MP calls $1, CO calls $1, SB folds

I have been very active at the tables. I have a decent double pair ss. I thought raising pre was to both charge limping ranges of MP, CO and SB or perhaps take it down pre.

              Flop: ($4) 4 7 3 (3 players)
Hero checks, MP checks, CO bets $3, Hero raises to $13, MP folds, CO raises to $43, Hero calls $27.56 and is all-in

I have 2 overpairs to the board w/ a 3rd nfd. I check to induce. When I saw CO betting out, I felt as if there was a lot of pair+fd combos many of which I dominate. So I raised.

To my surprise, he 3bet! I still felt as if I was ahead. If he has a set, I would be drawing to 4 outs for bigger set + my fd to fall back on. If he has a made str8, i'm not in too bad a shape w/ my fd unless he's got my fd dominated.

I liked my chances, hence the call.

              Hand #2

Oh my, this is a completely butchered hand. No excuses.

                BB: $23.39 (93.6 bb)
                UTG: $16.40 (65.6 bb)
                MP: $58.82 (235.3 bb)
                CO: $84.78 (339.1 bb)
                Hero (BTN): $25.97 (103.9 bb)
                SB: $26.13 (104.5 bb)

                Preflop: Hero is BTN with 6 4 2 5
UTG folds, MP raises to $0.85, CO raises to $2.90, Hero calls $2.90, 2 folds, MP raises to $11.95, CO calls $9.05, Hero calls $9.05

                MP is 71/36/12.5 over 182 hands 4b: 12.5
                CO is 89/72/68 (not 6.8, but 68!) over 54 hands 4b: 25

The two have been 3bing and 4bing each other to death.

And I decide to get involved w/ a very marginal holding getting 2:1 hoping to flop gin. (Mistake #1)

From this pf action, I ruled out AA from CO's range (he would have 5b 100%). Could MP have AA, possibly, but it wasn't a sure thing. But I did not rule it out of his range.

                Flop: ($36.20) 6 A 4 (3 players)
MP bets $36.20, CO folds, Hero calls $14.02 and is all-in

I flop bottom two headed by an ace. YUCK. I was getting 3.58:1. If CO had an A 50% of the times (he did call the 4b, didn't he?), MP could as well have A+rundown, A+pair type of hands. And I have a gutter and a very small bdfd. I call.

                Turn: ($64.24) 3 (2 players, 1 is all-in)
                River: ($64.24) T (2 players, 1 is all-in)

                Results: $64.24 pot ($3.00 rake)
                Final Board: 6 A 4 3 T
                MP showed A 7 T A and lost (-$25.97 net)
CO mucked and lost (-$11.95 net)
                Hero showed 6 4 2 5 and won $61.24 ($35.27 net)

                  BTN: $25 (100 bb)
                  SB: $24.50 (98 bb)
                  Hero (BB): $52.17 (208.7 bb)
                  CO: $21.77 (87.1 bb)

                  Preflop: Hero is BB with Q J K T
CO raises to $0.50, BTN raises to $1.85, SB calls $1.75, Hero raises to $7.90, CO folds, BTN calls $6.05, SB calls $6.05

I have a sweet ds rundown in the BB. MP opens and BTN 3b's. I felt like this is an iso raise a bulk of the times although his 3b range is tight. SB calls. I 4b to thin out the field and get value from lower rundowns. I plan on calling 5b and also I plan on shipping it if I catch any piece of the flop. To my surprise, I get 2 cold calls.

                  Flop: ($24.20) 8 K J (3 players)
SB bets $16.60 and is all-in, Hero raises to $44.27 and is all-in, BTN folds

I flop top 2 and open ender. Easy call imo getting 2.5 to 1.

                  Turn: ($57.40) 3 (2 players, 2 are all-in)

                  Hand #4

                  Weird hand.

This is the guy who got stacked in Hand #2 w/ AAA.

                  SB: 71/36/12.5 4b: 12.5
                  BB: 89/72/68

                  CO: $23.04 (92.2 bb)
                  BTN: $16.05 (64.2 bb)
                  SB: $29.35 (117.4 bb)
                  BB: $79.75 (319 bb)
                  Hero (UTG): $57.74 (231 bb)
                  MP: $26.03 (104.1 bb)

                  Preflop: Hero is UTG with 4 7 8 5
Hero calls $0.25, 3 folds, SB raises to $1, BB raises to $2.12, Hero calls $1.87, SB raises to $8.48, BB calls $6.36, Hero calls $6.36

I limp UTG w/ a small one gapper. WTF??? I rarely limp. Actually, I don't even remember limping. It must have been a misclick. Anyways, SB raises and BB min 3b's. I call and SB 4bets BB calls and I call. At this time, their range is so wide you can't really put them on anything. I guess that's a mistake. Highly volatile environment when you have to play on absolute strength of your hand.

                  Flop: ($25.44) 9 9 6 (3 players)
SB bets $20.87 and is all-in, BB folds, Hero calls $20.87

SB shoves and BB folds. I have a low wrap + small bdfd. If he has AAxx, I like my chances. If he has a 9, I'm screwed. If he has a bigger wrap, I'm screwed. I should have folded here, never mind getting 2.22:1. But I stupidly call, ofc. I wasn't too far behind. But lose on the river. Oh well, such is life. EASY COME, EASY GO.

                  Turn: ($67.18) 5 (2 players, 1 is all-in)
                  River: ($67.18) A (2 players, 1 is all-in)

                  Results: $67.18 pot ($3 rake)
                  Final Board: 9 9 6 5 A
                  SB showed 7 A T K and won $64.18 ($34.83 net)
BB mucked and lost (-$8.48 net)
                  Hero showed 4 7 8 5 and lost (-$29.35 net)
