No I'm not, I just play for fun. Got to play a lot more than usual this month because my company basically gives everyone the last 2 weeks off.

You should be happy to take 2nd place. You can't win them all and even if you didn't play great during heads up that's not a big deal. Sometimes the other guy is going to outplay you. And 2nd place still gets a big payout.

I feel good about top 5 in a tournament usually. Progressively better of course and 1st is immensely superior. That being said you ran incredibly hot as you probably know to get 1st and 2nd back to back days. I've won the same tournament on back to back days before and it's certainly a neat accomplishment but it's mostly luck. You just gotta go with the flow and really try to do your best to not care about the results too much. As you know most of the time you are going to bust out of the money and probably to a bad beat. So be happy now, when you're running hot and don't worry later as you regress to the mean. It's all variance and just keep plugging away. And play some bigger tournies for more thrill.

Thanks Rick. I appreciate the encouragement. Yeah definitely a lot of luck involved for sure. That said, I would say there is significant skill involved as well. I cash at a pretty high clip compared to my old self and I see a huge difference between my results the past few years compared to like 10 yrs ago. I see so many spots and things that I never was even aware of previously.

That said tonight I was in a good spot to go deep again, but I blew up my stack playing too aggresively and mincashed in 97th. Oh well.

In cash overall going well still. Bluffed into a flopped boat for the 2nd time so that's always awesome. I'll post some hands later.

Had JsTs on 8s 7s Td and ran into 77.
Guy calls off stack w/ A2o on A x x vs my AJ and rivers 2.
Flopped nut straight w/ 98s on 7 T J vs QQ and comes running 7s. Brutal.

After that last one I just closed all my tables.

I think I'm ok with my small size on the flop to induce which worked. But I need to be raising the turn for sure.

After just calling turn, my river call is just horrendous. I deserved that one.

What a frustrating session. Such a fishy table obviously with guys limping and calling raises with A4o. Then leading out for 3 streets. Can't believe I just broke even. I should've won like 2k on that table easily.
