Low cost index funds at vanguard/fidelity/schwab in a normal taxable brokerage account for any money you don't need to access anytime in the next few years, high interest savings account like 2% barclays online savings account or similar (no risk return at least coming close to saving you from inflation) for anything except for whatever small amount you need constant access to for your bankroll for a few days worth of play. Leaving it all in a casino box your money is just losing value every day it's sitting there for no reason. If you're filing as a pro you can open a SEP IRA and save a chunk of it for retirement while also reducing your taxable income. May also be a good option for you since then you'd have a chunk of money growing somewhere that is much harder/costlier to get at. Definitely spend some time learning some basic personal finance stuff. It looks more confusing than it actually is and your future self will thank you immensely for it.

The most popular index fund is variations of the S&P 500 which is basically just the 500 biggest American stocks, which is adjusted as they grow or drop off. If you look at a graph of it, there were dips in 2000, 2008, etc, but has always recovered and averaged something like 9% year on year growth for decades. Then there is international indexes, tech, weed indexes, etc. Its just a safer way than picking a couple stocks and most people can't beat the total market.

You really can't go wrong putting a bunch of money in a few index funds. You would learn all you need to know in a few hours on reddit and youtube. I have mine through TD bank, if I want to sell anything, it takes about 2 days, there is a 2% penalty for taking any money out earlier than 30 days, so its just a good way to justify not touching the money.

GIC is where you give the bank a lump sum, then they guarantee you a certain percentage based on how long you agree to let them keep the money. Apparently they are better for someone who may need the money in the near future and doesn't want to risk having to access it when there is a 5% dip in the market. I haven't heard many good things about them, but it would serve a purpose if you didn't want to see your money fluctuating up to a few percent a day in the market.

High interest savings might be better, but in my own situation if I was playing poker and gambling for my income, I would not want easy access to the whole amount at any time. No reason why 10-20% cash in hand shouldn't be enough.

Spent a week at Run It Up Reno. -3K at 5/10 but +9K at 3/5. So all in all, a good trip. Haven't played any poker, live or online, outside of the week I was in Reno. Finding it hard to find motivation to play recently. Everything is going well, though. Just going to the gym and eating well. I've been spending my free time studying e-commerce. Really want to have a side income outside of poker. And private labeling through Amazon FBA seems pretty legit. You send all your product to Amazon's warehouse and they take care of everything for you. Once set up and running, I would minimal time investments into it. It seems like it could be a good side hustle outside of poker. Still need to do a lot more research but I think I'm going to pull the trigger on that soon.

I got laid the other day for the first time this year also. So that was nice. That was a long dry spell. And the success seems to have done wonders to my confidence. I hit on another girl today and 95% sure she wants to bang me. So I went from too timid to approach any girls over the last year, to approaching multiple girls over the last few days. Everything is coming up Milhouse.

The only downer recently is that bitcoin is getting destroyed and my liferoll along with it. Half of my liferoll is in btc so I've lost several thousand dollars these past few weeks. Oh well, that's to be expected. Btc is a very volatile asset. I'll probably just start playing more ignition/bovada while prices are low and obtain more btc. This is a good opportunity to get my DCA lower. And I have full faith it will go back up eventually.

Thanks broski. I think it's just the fact that I've been working on myself a lot this year and my confidence has reached all time highs as a result. I've worked on my appearance a lot. Going to the gym regularly has been huge. As well as ditching my glasses for contacts and investing in a decent wardrobe. The clothes thing I think is actually underrated. I did some research on GTO male fashion and I realized I dressed like a kid. Buying a few nice outfits was a game changer for my confidence personally.

Also just gaining confidence as a by-product of success. You start working hard, which leads to wins, the wins start piling up and your confidence grows, and one day you're feeling yourself enough to talk to the pretty girl at the bar

Girls should be approaching you not you approaching them. Especially in a bar. All you got to do is respond to them and be interested in them. If you dont they will get angry and think your gay or weird and probably tell other people these stories. The ones you do respond to you will easily hookup with. You don t need any confidence for this in fact looking a bit upset and broken works better. There is some basics to it and doing your fitness and dressing nicely does help. I would just go out and don't actually try and engage with anyone. Going to a dance floor and dancing by yourself and not smiling but giving eye contact to people who give you eye contact. You will find girls will approach you like crazy by looking over their shoulder at you, tapping you on the back and asking you a question, coming up grinding on y our dick, looking into your eyes and laughing and copying what your doing, putting their fingers up your nose and putting your snot into your mouth, giving or offering to buy you a drink, invite you to sit with them. All sorts of strange things happen. The club bar Is fun as fark. Staying sober is better as well.

I can't believe it's already November and this year is almost over. That means I only have three months of probation left. I went to apply for my passport today. I'm planning on buying a one way ticket to Thailand and just travel overseas for a couple months to celebrate my freedom, once I get off of probation. End of February I'm outchea.

October was another insanely successful month for me in poker. I'm not sure if I'm still just riding a heater or I've just leveled up my poker game and I'm just an end boss crusher now? I started journaling in October of last year and I went back and read some of my entries from a year ago. And it's really insane how far I've come since then. All I can say is, momentum is everything in life. When you start to get some positive momentum going, grab that **** by the horns and don't let up. And when negative momentum is bringing you down, it can feel almost impossible to turn it around. But, it is possible. For all you degenerates out there, I'm proof it's possible. Don't give up.

I don't consider myself a sharp but I'm a winning NBA sports bettor over a decent sample size. My go to bets this year have been hammering whoever is playing the Warriors. And I have been crushing.

So today I see Hornets are only 3 point favorites and I stick to the plan. I bet 500 Hornets -3 and 500 ML -160. Then news comes out that Draymond is out and D Lo is questionable. Wow the line only moved to -205? This is too good to be true. So I hammer that for 2K. Then they announce D Lo is out and line only moves to -230. So I hammer that for 4k.

This is the most insane value ever. I guess a lot of people haven't watched the Hornets this year? They're actually decent. I can't believe the line is so low. This is such easy money. It really is taking all of my willpower not to bet more. But, I'm trying to be responsible now. This is like 9% of my net worth. So it will hurt a lot if I lose, but will not be the end of the world.
