Favorite poker goals thread currently. Inspiring for someone who hopes to be at higher stakes someday (albeit US player)

Thanks man, glad to have more PLO enthusiasts

-------

Played about 3k hands today, jumped into the 25/50 game for a little bit again (same unknown player).

Some of it was from last night. Today starts from around 1.7k hands.

Pretty bumpy ride on the day but feels pretty nice to be playing well, running bad and only losing $400 heh. Have been stuck in a rut in terms of $ amount on the month and only just about broke out of it. Halfway through the month, fingers crossed it could be a big one!

Missing from EV sim - the fact that stakes vary, with people typically having lower winrate at higher stakes and playing less volume there. Damn variance, you scary!

Yep, can take forever to climb back from a beating at high stakes too heh Like earlier in thread, trying to recover from a -20somethingk day mentally and bankroll-wise was hell.

Had a bit of a **** day

I'm fine with how I played mostly, but not happy with my behaviour at the tables. Have been spamming that inner keyboard warrior all day long (mostly due to being life-tilted) heh. Oh well. Better out than in, eh.

Popped on Schindler's list because of the life-tilt. Have put it off for years due to its length. First time ever watching it (on my list for a long time), man that movie is an emotional rollercoaster but the pay-off totally worth it.

I remember falling asleep in class every year when it came time for teacher to let us watch schindlers list, still don't know what it's about just know it's rated super high on rotten tomatoes/imbd and really good at putting teenage kids to sleep

Would say it's a solid 8 for sure on anyone's scale and possibly a 9/perfect movie on others.

Haha, completely see where you're coming from. One of those movies you have to be in the mood for, like Revenant. IMDB's synopsis is pretty accurate for the movie: "In German-occupied Poland during World War II, Oskar Schindler gradually becomes concerned for his Jewish workforce after witnessing their persecution by the Nazi Germans."

So whilst the plot is relatively "simple", the journey is where the meat is.

Had one of those classic days. Can't complain, ran pretty well at high stakes and badly at lower stakes Saw some 25/50 running and jumped into that too, won a bit. Nothing too interesting though.

Lame end to what could have been an epic month. Jk about the lame end part. I do feel like I've been taking for granted my recent heater and I should really try to keep myself grounded re:$ amounts.
To look at my month objectively, I feel like I've been pretty lazy relative to March.

I've done much less studying this month and it clearly shows in the swings (that said, I have been playing more 10/25 and 25/50).

I'd played 30k more hands in the previous month and although it is easier to put in volume when you run good, I do think the majority of the reason for it is because of a lack of structure. I've literally just been waking up at 12pm this past month and always miss out on an extra session in the morning because of it. Sometimes I miss out on an evening session too which is pretty appalling when you think of how many hours a 9-5 person puts in.

So in May I'm looking to wake up earlier, get more exercise in and have a bit more structure to my life. Not sure how well that will go, but we'll see!

- 2+ hours of study each week
- 80k+ hands (should pref to increase study hours rather than hands)
- Play badminton/go running/work out at least twice a week

30k is total juice, definitely don’t take that for granted in this day and age! Does suck to be up double, I did the exact same thing (just less dollars).

We go again in May, gl my man

I def fall into the same trap with regards to the lack of structure. I'll have to follow your lead in may and try to keep a bit more of a schedule. Gl in May!

nice job z0mg !

how many tables do you play at once ? roughly how many hands/hr do you think you get?
80k+ hands (especially PLO) is a lot of volume imo!
