I'm sometimes afraid to pull the trigger on the river, because I just expect them to snap me off with a K. But then I remember there are still a decent amount of folds in villain's range. Most importantly his Ax of spades.

Good point about 3b more IP as that is something I've also tried working on.
Depends also how much they 3b BvB if they don't 3b 14% or so you can raise wider.

In an attempt to raise my 3b

- Any hands that were mix 3b/fold are now pure 3b

- I'm still mixing in calls on the BTN/SB, but mostly if there's a rec in the blinds, or if the raiser is a rec (depending on my hand).

Not a bad day. Flopped 4 sets and made money on all 4 hands. Of course, the only one I got a full stack was when villain also flopped a higher set, but I turned quads

One thing that is helping my mental game/not spewing or tilting is really limiting myself when it comes to running big bluffs on recs.

Solid start to the month

Unfortunately, I'm still without a job and had to make another big withdrawal. Left $100 so I could at least play 5nl.

On some good news, I did have a phone interview today that sounded promising.

Had some extra $, so made a deposit so I could afford 25nl

And in some good news, after a month of searching, finally got a job offer today. Making quite a bit more than what I was previously.

First week at the new job went well. Unfortunately my PC died, and I lost my entire database.

On the bright side I've started making some good strides in being more aggressive, at least over a trivial sample so far.

Hey just commenting on the objective to lose weight thing, i've heard a lot of health content creators say theres lots of studies showing that diets essentially dont work because they're meant to be a short term thing in order to do something like lose weight. Instead I think the move is to pick a eating habit that you feel comfortable doing for the rest of your life but is still healthy and will eventually lead to better health. It's a marathon not a race. Ik its hard if you really junk like soda + pizza and **** so maybe can do a cheat day once a week or something like that to not make this prospect seeming so grim, but for me I've adapted to not even enjoying junk, i think largely because I know what it does to my body and mind so I have a negative emotional connotation with ingesting such stuff so I can't even just let go and enjoy the junk. Look to finding those special foods that both check the healthy and delicious boxes. For me thats salmon, roasted potatoes, guacamole, strawberries, etc, etc. GL on the journey bro

The Bad

Volume sucked. But I did start my new job.

Spewed off my roll playing slots, but I did manage to get myself banned from the casino.

The Good

Increased my aggression and stopped playing rivers so passively.

Didn't tilt (much)

Dat redline tho

Grats on the new job guy, just started one myself last month too. Best of luck there, and hope to see you back at 50+ soon

I'm kind of amazed that guys like you and DDP and JR have such great redlines, I'm over here trying to get it above -5bb/100 lol. My wr is still solid but that part has def been hard for me. But I also don't play on ignition, so maybe the anonymous pool has something to do with it

yeah for the longest time I didn't think it was possible on Ignition due to how soft the games were with so many fish.

One thing I'm experimenting with until I either get bored of it or get to 50nl is playing more of a 3b or fold strategy from everywhere except the BB.

Exceptions will be when I'm on the BTN or in the SB, and

A. I have a hand that plays well MW and there is a rec behind.

B. I have a speculative hand that plays well vs the opener's range, and they don't like folding to 3bets.

Like most people that start these goal threads, I got lazy and neglected to make any updates. Figured I'd make one now since I just had one of my best months.

May 2023

Overall (almost at 100k hands)

Areas I'd like to improve

1. 3bet - Would like to be around 11-12
2. River Call Efficiency - Would like to at least get to 1.2
3. Delay Cbet - I think as an exploit it'd be nice to have this around 60-65

Health wise, sugar levels are still high. Had a recent follow up and trying out some new meds that will hopefully help. On a positive note, I have lost 30lbs so just a little less fat than I was.

Hopefully next update will be a little sooner.

2023 is in the books

Negatives

- I haven't been able to play at all in the last 3-4 months due to personal/financial shizz.
- Still fat

Positives

- Dat redline
- My blood glucose numbers are finally down to normal/non diabetic levels, and my A1C isn't too far behind.

good luck in 2024 everyone!
