Hi,

I'm an ex 100nl reg who withdrew his bank roll around 1 year ago to work fulltime when I got bored.

Lifetime (this is missing probably around 2k profit from my old computer and starts at the end of 20nl)

I have pretty low volume as I like to play pretty loose and aggressive with 4-6 tables but I am starting to try learn 9 tables now from 2nl+ (timing out often still..)

Current 2nl:

I started around 2 weeks ago by putting $14 in, I now have around $85. I will be trying to move up as fast as possible with 20-25 buy ins until I reach 50nl or 100nl (depending how I feel my game is).

I have a good job in real life so this is not a money driven challenge, I will try put in as much volume as possible outside of work/gym/friends though

Currently playing on PokerStars, will likely switch site at 20nl to get rake back from somewhere like iPoker as although PokerStars has the weakest field the lack of rake back means the win rate is still lower than other sites (in my opinion)

I will try post interesting hands and a weekly review of my progress. Plan is to get to $100 and start up 5nl!

Goal: Raise stakes as quick as possible using 20/25 BI rule, update thread as often as possible, get myself in as many tricky spots as possible
End Goal: Grind 100nl - 400nl as a side job for holiday/travel money

Had a session today, went well and ran good. Won my flips and my hands held

That means I have got to $100, and will now play 5nl with a 8 buy in stop loss where I will grind back to $100 if I get to $60.

Overall 2nl stats and graph:

I honestly did not feel like I did not know what to do at any hand in the entire 11k, so that's good I guess. The stakes is very fish heavy with a lot of nitty regs and a few good tags and lags who I'm surprised still play 2nl!

To get an idea on how I play, ill post a few interesting hands

This is against a reg, he is very laggy and seemed to be running over the table. His issue was he bet way to big to often, so I was just hoping to hit any sort of hand and get the money in

These are the types of plays you should be continually doing if you don't want your redline to tank horribly like I see a lot of players at low limits do.

Had my first 5nl session. I thought I played pretty well, although I actually felt quite scared money for the first 100 hands..

I definitely ran well in 450 hands I had like 3 sets, 2x AA and 2x KK ...

I thought I was playing pretty well. There was one hand I had thought about, made a thin vb on the river vs a LAGGY reg(had him at like 33/27/8/3 after 150 hands)

Thoughts, call or fold? Ill post the results afterwards if anyone has any interest

Tired as fk, one of the longer sessions I have ever played lol :/

Some fun hands..The guy he iso is a big fish and hes a huge nit, like 8/8 .. I knew he had QQ-AA and wanted him to fold...This is always a big way I lose money, I think because I know someone's hand they will fold, but they don't.

Redline is won by successfully bluff catching, making thin vbets (which inevitably get folded to often giving you $$) and only cbetting and bluffing with a good plan. My red line was actually kind of ****ty this session because villains kept bombing the board when bad cards for me came up

You win a bit by stealing blinds but it's not a huge amount it more keeps you slightly below be from your own blinds you have to pay

Would you say that having a positive redline is important at the micro's? Does it help for your winrate? And do players ever fold at 2NL?

I don't believe you need positive, but the closer it is to even or higher the better your wr will be. Contrary to what most people believe I actually find 2nl players fold very often and are often weak tight scared money (which is why they are playing $2 stakes) so bluffing at the right times can work great.

A lot of players win at like 30bb at showdown but lose at 20+ non shown which obviously screws there win rate hard, with proper play that non show down loss can be halved or even removed

It seems we might have met and played a few hands this past week (NL2), looking at your session times.

Staying tuned in, might learn a thing or two from you

Had my first chance to have another session today, busy week at work.

I honestly think I played very well and are happy with the result, I seriously had incredibly card dead until the very end. I ran into so many rivered sets it was amazing, and I had KKvAA twice and won nothing PF AI from my side! But I kept breakeven from pushing reg's out of pots.

                                Some interesting spots:
This exact same thing happened 3 times resulting in AI, I put them on a small pocket pair and they had it and they hit it on the river when they were committed or the majority of the $$ are in

This is now the total graph missing $20 of winnings

I have probably got given a good deal for rakeback on another site so I may switch over too. I have already paid $60 in rake and have only received a $10 bonus from that, on another site I probably would have paid $100ish but received at least $70 back, so the total rake paid will be approximately halved. While I think stars has a large amount of fish if you table select (which I haven't been) this large amount of extra rake you pay probably is not worth it.

                                        Thanks!

My weekend grind starting on iPoker

I have been playing the Speed Poker games which has been really exciting. Great games, lots of action and lots of hands/RB. Pretty reg infested but I think they are bad so I can own them! My hud was not working well so I played most of the weekend hud which was interesting, feel like I make better reads but sometimes run bluffs into nits without knowing.

                                        Some interesting hands:

                                        Should fold here OTR:

There's actually not that many interesting hands tbh, I played pretty tame getting used to the new site etc

Thanks. I will make a BR update when I get my RB weekly,

Hi all, last few days hands:

It says I ran pretty well EV wise (4 buy in above) but I think I got many cooler postflop and only run OKAY...

If you look from hand around 2,000 to hand 2,400 you will notice I lose money very fast in a bad way. At this time my GF is on the phone to me tilting me mega hard and I should stop, but I burnt through $30 in 15 minutes by playing like a complete aggro donk. Never going to do that again

                                              Some interesting spots

                                              Ah!!

I really need to slowplay more vs aggressive regs, I usually always raise flops because I would do it with air very often in this spot, but regs at this stakes don't know or care if you are balanced!!
