Why I Made This Thread
- To keep better track of my winnings this year for financial reasons
- So I can brag to people I don't know about how much I make rather than isolating the few friends I have
- Encourage people to start playing when they see how much I make and in turn profit myself because they are bad?
Everything Up Until Now
I became good at poker in early 2015. I put in decent volume the first half of the year and then put in almost no volume the last five months or so.
I spent the last five months of the year (and January of this year) living off of the money I had earned earlier in the year. I had no motivation to play poker and that was fine - I just enjoyed the benefits of what I had worked for.
Today is January 25, 2016 and it's time to get back on the grind.
Plan For This Year
My plan in life at this moment is to earn enough from poker this year to meet these minimums: save $24,000, invest $24,000, and have $21,000 for monthly expenses. That adds up to $69,000, or roughly what I expect to make after taxes. Of course, this is all assuming I make exactly $100,000 and pay 31% in taxes for being in the $100,000+ bracket and does not account for deductions. Any additional money from deductions will just be split between savings and investments.
I'm going to update this thread daily with my starting balance across all poker sites in the morning and another post at night with my updated balance. I will post actual graphs weekly.
