Greetings people.

Some background first.
Previously winning multi-table 1/2 NL cash player. Have spent 12 months+ out of the game while traveling and wanting to get back in now that I'm home. Was playing a fair bit of PLO50 when I finished up and would like to focus on that game, with a bit of NL or PLO8 to break it up.

My Omaha game is basic at best but hope to settle at lower stakes initially.

Initial deposit - $1000 40 buyins at $25 tables. Enough to get started will evaluate after some hands.

Goals
run good, make money, move up

Will update with graphs etc. Discipline has always been my weak point. Hope this thread keeps me on track and away from the Stud/mixed tables.

You say discipline has been a problem. I would suggest setting more specific goals.

Some Suggestions:
1.) Play 5,000 hands per week @ PLO50
2.) Earn 4bb/100 over 75k hands before moving up
3.) Increase stakes once my bankroll has reached 50x the next level BI (IE $2,500)

Just a thought. Specific realistic goals are most helpful if discipline is your problem. Don't forget to add some study time into your game as well.

Thanks BAE, all good points. Absolutely agree with study time. I've always reviewed sessions and read whatever I can get my hands on as well as the enormous volume of info available in the PLO boards on here.

I'm aiming for a minimum of 20,000 hands per month. 30k would be nice. I used to play 30-50k but can't see myself playing as many PLO tables as I did NL any time soon.

My main discipline issues in the past have been playing drunk and playing stud/mixed tables. I'm an absolutely shocking stud player and best to just stay away.

Initially I'm starting with PLO25. After playing a bit today, realistically I think it's a bit low judging by the limp-fest I witnessed. Once I've settled in and got my mind back on the game I'll update some goals and consider moving up If I'm winning. The sheer numbers of maniacs and fit/fold players at PLO25 should be exploitable.

I'll try to update this thread with some thoughts on my own game, as well as thoughts on the games I'm playing in.
