A DEALER QUESTION A DEALER QUESTION

hello all u knowledgable dealers, i currently deal poker at hollywood casino aurora in illinois. been playing the game for almost 10 years and poker is the only game that i enjoy dealing. as of right now its the only game that i know how to deal and i have aspirations to move to indiana and become a poker dealer over there.

so, to my question... does anyone know if casinos will hire a dealer with only one game? ive heard that most casinos wont even consider u unless u have two... however, if i had an audition and showed them how good i was it may change their mind. taking a reduction in actual working days is not a huge problem to me because i play poker on the side for the extra cash and do very well.

should i force myself to learn another game or is there any way that i can wiggle my way through the industry with just one game?

I believe most dealers these days are trained in several games. Wouldn't it be better to email the casinos than asking a forum of poker players?

Just say u can deal omaha (Pot Limit Omaha, other wise known as PLO) too. Just instead of 2 cards per person, it's 4. Dealt exactly the same way, small blind first, button last, but instead of dealing around twice, deal around 4 times. Game plays the exact same except it's pot limit.

There's a Preflop.
Players bet
Then flop has 3 cards.
Players bet
Turn is 1 card
Players bet
River is 1 card
Players bet

Also players MUST, use 2 cards from their hand, and 3 cards on the board to make a hand. They cannot use 1,3 or 4 cards from their hand. And cannot use just 1,2,4 or all 5 cards on the board.

Read up on some other games, learning the basics on just how to deal them should be simple enough.

If you're looking for casino work you should really be able to deal blackjack and roulette as well. Poker is only a small part of what goes on in a casino.
