Hello everybody,
my name is Daniel and i am from Slovakia. I am creating this blog with the vision of improving my poker skills. I choose DoN format, cause i have the most experience with it. I will play FR DoN on Winamax(195,63€) or 888 (BR = 40,35$).

Goals to the end of month:
  • 100+ turneys, be winning player

Long term goals:
  • be winning player at 5/10$ DoN

I have decided to play SH DoN on Winamax because HEM2 HUD is not working corectly (overlapping statistics) so it was not very comfortable when i was playing FR.

1st session (hot run )

#27t: +25,54€

WEEK 1 (22.9 - 28.9)

Site: Winamax
Stakes: 2€/3€ SH DoN
#: 111t
ROI: 11,6%
Profit: +34,74€

So the first goal (+100 tourneys to the end of month) was reached easily, becasuse i have played SH not FR. Profit is also good. GL.

What the hell is DoN? Why do you put your numbers with the comma in the wrong spot? 19,563 not 195,63....

DoN = Double or Nothing. I have a PG&C thread for it myself, it's an extremely weird form of poker, yeah.

195,63 was my starting bankroll at Winamax, so the comma is definitely on the right place .

Call or fold? BB is sitout, BTN is "reg". If i will be at BTN position, i will push probably 70 - 80% hands. Maybe some strong hands (JJ+) i will only min raise to give oppurtunity SB to repush bluf.

Winamax No-Limit Hold'em Tournament, 80/160 Blinds (6 handed) - Winamax Converter Tool from http://www.flopturnriver.com

Button (t1,240)
Hero (SB) (t1,985)
BB (t1,035)
UTG (t1,525)
MP (t1,840)

Hero's M: 8.27

Preflop: Hero is SB with 10, K
3 folds, Button raises t1,240 (All-In), Hero calls t1,160, 1 fold

Flop: (t2,640) Q, 9, A (2 players, 1 all-in)

Turn: (t2,640) 6 (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: (t2,640) K (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: t2,640

Spoiler:

Button had 9, J (one pair, nines).
Hero had 10, K (one pair, Kings).

it's a bit different in America, I believe. if we started with 195 dollars and 63 cents it would be expressed as 195.63.

post hands please, bubble push/fold/call spots in particular, then we can get some good discussion going. GL

I'd have to say this is a terrible call in a vacuum. perhaps u r assigning his range to wide because u would be super wide but I'm guessing vs a large majority of villains u just made a losing call. im going to look at it in depth later.

what kind of pushing range did u assign and what calling range would u assign to bb had u folded?

BB is sitout, BU is reg and shortstack. So i assigned him 80% pushing range. Then I had 57,71% Equity with K10. On the edge call.

yeah sorry it only takes one look to tell you that's a really bad call.
Crushing DoN Quote
10-20-2014 , 05:57 PM
well, if BB is sitting out it entirely changes things. So, if villain is shoving 80%(i think that an ambitious assigning range) K 10 off would be a call

MP range: Broadways, A2+, K2+, Q2+, 22+, suited connectors.
BB: should call only with JJ+ i guess
SB: I will call only with qq+, or some suited connectors like T9, 89.

I had 60% equity against MP, I think, but I am not sure with SB range.

UTG (t2,010)
MP (t1,505) VPIP:15, PFR: 11
Hero (Button) (t1,285)

Hero's M: 2.86

Preflop: Hero is Button with A, J
1 fold, MP raises t1,485, Hero calls t1,265, 1 fold, BB calls t1,185

Flop: (t4,385) 10, 7, Q (3 players)

Turn: (t4,385) 9 (3 players)

River: (t4,385) 6 (3 players)

Total pot: t4,385

Spoiler:

Hero had A, J (high card, Ace).
BB had 8, 8 (straight, ten high).
MP had A, 8 (straight, ten high).
Outcome: MP won t2,243

Glad to see you're doing well. How is the traffic/rakeback over there?

That KT call was pretty bad btw and also your ranges in the last hand look a bit off.

Rake on Winamax DoN is the lowest that you can find i think. (6% at 5€ stakes). So there is no direct rakeback. You can change VIP points for some cash bonuses. If i change all my points that i accumulate during one month and change them, it will be around 6-8% rakeback. But my volume is really low.
Currently are running ten 5€ SH tables. At the evening it will be around 20.
Crushing DoN Quote
10-27-2014 , 05:46 AM
Thanks, volume looks decent. 6% rake isn't that good actually if you're not getting rakeback. How is the traffic for the higher stakes, at peak times and non-peak times, if you don't mind checking.
