Thoughts On The 2016 Election:
Donald Trump: Thank You For Saving The American Dream
Over the past few months, every time I had looked up to the sky, saw old glory flying free and thought deeply about a Hillary Rodham Clinton presidency, for some reason the clouds would turn all muddy and our American flag would look much like my carpet after a seventy two hour LSD binge, overwhelmingly dirty and littered with stains. If you’ve ever gone over the edge with uppers or hallucinogenics or had a look at George Soros’s soul, you know the exact level of filthiness I’m speaking about. But, since last Wednesday when I’ve looked up to the heavens at our forever enduring beautiful symbol of freedom, it is almost as if old glory has been beckoning me, calling out passionately to me while its own waves in the air crash against the wind like the tide rolling in at the foot of a cliff off the Atlantic ocean that I hope and pray every day HRC will swan dive off of soon unto a brutal death.
And no, we did not get a Bernie Sanders victory, but we got a Hillary Clinton defeat. And for those who built a home chock full of hate in our heart for her after she cheated Senator Sanders in the Democratic primaries that is all that mattered. And when she barrels herself head first into the sharp rocks peaking out from the ocean at the bottom of the ridge like the true chicken $hit she is, lets us make sure that the sounds of every bone shattering in her body that has long been rotting to the core do not drown out these very important words that I’d like to pass on to those that were duped into voting for her, or worse yet, actually had to pretend like they loved her.
Hillary Rodham Clinton was a blithering liar, a vicious war criminal, a destroyer of dreams, a shameless cheat, a scumbag thief so slimy she’d steal your gram of cocaine one day, then sell it back to you the next for $10 more than you originally paid for it while it was .2 short. If that wasn’t already twisted enough, she’d even go on to ask if she could have a bump of it for herself before she left to use whoever else she was going to see that day who was stupid enough to call her a friend. To call her anything but the most putrid cut of pork that has ever run for the presidency like a “Nasty Woman” would actually be sugar coating it so much that if it were a cup of coffee and you could take a sip, once you did you’d feel and hear the grains of sugar crunching in between your teeth and disintegrating down into your gums and ultimately leaving the back of your jaw with a fistful of cavities.
From every person I know in Washington D.C. I’ve been told that Democratic party insiders and even Barack Obama himself thinks Hillary “Rotten” Clinton is a reckless idiot. Word on the street is that her own daughter doesn’t even love her and we have all known what Bill thinks about her for some time. Truth be told, Chelsea Clinton has been refusing to pose with her parents in any pictures for the press since the early 2000’s and each year her Mother and Father have to give her a hefty raise from The Clinton Foundation and wouldn’t you know Chelsea makes one million a year now, all just to actually have to speak to, be seen with, and smile in photos with her family.
I could go on but why bother, it looks like lying crooked Hillary has decided to desert you all who voted for her anyway, much like she abandoned those four men in Benghazi, and just like she left you all waiting for a concession speech on election night when Donald Trump upheld the integrity of the election process and became your president. So, as I stand here now in front of this American flag above me outside of Anderson Elementary school in Trenton, Michigan and stare up at the wild blue yonder, I would like to take the time to remind you while Hillary Rodham Clinton was doing everything she could to crumple up “The American Dream” and toss it into the rubbish next to the policy ideas and campaign objectives Bernie Sanders gave her that she promised to promote, Donald Trump, Wikileaks, Anonymous, the FBI, the CIA, the Secret Service, our military, local police forces, and lovers of freedom all over the world fought vehemently to save it and that they did.
So, excuse me while I set down this cell phone for a moment and picture me standing tall with a misty eye if you will as I salute old glory and say, “Thank you Donald. Thank you for saving the American dream.”

Can You Play $1/$2-$2/$5 No Limit Hold Em Live?
Well I'll Teach You.
And that's just what I've been doing for the last few months that I have been away from 2+2 poker forums, teaching two lucky students what it takes to beat live $1/$2 No Limit Hold Em for $20-$25 a hour and preparing them both to move to the $2/$5 NLHE level this January where they will be making $40-$50 a hour. After that, I'll be looking to replace them with two new $1/$2 NLHE horses and hopefully find myself a $2/$5 PLO horse sometime in the future as my staking bankroll grows. I know some of you may be wondering, "What happened to the book you were going to write?" And the answer to that is simple, I decided to keep all my intellectual property to myself and give it directly to my horses who make me money or share what I feel like sharing here for free. The rough draft of the book was definitely completed and all parts of it have been shared with people close to me, but to actually edit it down, spell check it, grammar check it, etc, etc all by myself, just didn't have the time or motivation. Especially, when I was on an eight hundred hour heater at a $1/$3 PLO (Max $300 Buy In) game where I was averaging around $60 a hour and both my $1/$2 horses helped me take a $5,000 investment and run it up to around $20,000 in just four months.
Anyway, I'd be lying if I told you I had any doubts about being able to crush a live $1/$3 PLO game or have success at staking students to crush $1/$2 No Limit Hold Em. But, I can't say for 100% certain that I'm going to be able to crush $2/$5 PLO and also train my students to be able to beat $2/$5 No Limit Hold Em. So, this is where the real fun begins.
Paco, Mr. Ed, Alien, and I are either going to go boom or busto with this staking endeavor and I strongly encourage you to "Buy The Ticket, Take The Ride."
Here's thirty important questions you must know the answer to if you want to provide yourself every opportunity to grow your $1/$2-$1/$3 NLHE Bankroll to at least $10,000 and give yourself a real chance to move up to the $2/$5 NLHE level. These are the thirty questions I have asked every person I ever granted an interview to for staking. As a thank you to 2+2 forums and every $1/$2 NLHE grinder that has followed Lotgrinder over the years I will be answering them all here over the next two months.
1. What are the hands you should usually limp in from early position at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 No Limit Hold Em Table?
2. What are the hands you should usually limp in from mid position at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 No Limit Hold Em Table?
3. What are the hands you should usually limp in from late position at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 No Limit Hold Em Table?
4. What are the hands you should call your small blind with?
5. What are the hands you should raise with from early position at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 No Limit Hold Em Table?
6. What are the hands you should you raise with from middle position at at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 No Limit Hold Em Table.
7. What are the hands you should raise with from late position at at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 No Limit Hold Em Table?
8. If you were to sit down at a $1/$2 NLHE table and quickly saw there was three $2/$5 NLHE players sitting at the same table while they wait for their $2/$5 NLHE game to open up how would this effect your strategy? Assume one of them is on your direct left, and the other two are to your direct right. It's going to be a while before they move because the bad beat is at 400k and all eighteen tables in the room are being utilized. What adjustments would you make to give yourself the best chance to be profitable that day at Motor City Casino?
9. If you were sitting down at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 NLHE game with $200 and limped in 44 from UTG, what would you do if there were five limpers and an old tight nitty man on the dealer button raised it to $45 to go? Would you call his bet to set mine, shove all in, or fold? What's the reasoning behind your decision?
10. If you were sitting down at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 NLHE game with $200 and had raised it to $12 from UTG with QQ and got four callers, then got shoved all in on for $200 by a tight/aggressive/competent guy in the small blind that you never seen get out of line, what would be your play here and why?
11. If you were sitting down at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 NLHE game with $200, but there was this one donk who kept raising it to $7-$15 to go every hand no matter what he had, and you had raised it to $12 from UTG with AsKs, got a caller, then a competent tight/aggressive player 3bet you to $35, and the donk who had been raising $7-$15 every hand open shoved his $200, what would be your play here and why?
12. If you were on the button with $200, had a tight, strong, and winning image, and six people had limped in for $2 at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 NLHE game what would be your play with Jd10d and why?
13. If you were on the button with $200, had a tight, strong, and winning image, and six people had limped in for $2 at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 NLHE game what would be your play with AsKs? Suppose you raised it to $10 to go and a SUPER NIT who limped in from under the gun all of a sudden shoves his $95 stack. All others fold and it comes back to you, what's your play here and why?
14. If you were in mid position with $200 at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 NLHE table and had a tight, strong, winning image, then decided to raise 2 limpers to $12 to go with 9s8s, and all of a sudden the biggest donk in the world shoved his $72 stack in on the button and picked up a call for one of the limpers for $72, what's your play here and why?
15. Lets say you're sitting at a relatively easy and passive $1/$2 NLHE game, but it just hasn't been your day. Every raise you make is getting called and you're missing every flop, then on top of that none of your continuation bets are working, and you even got caught bluffing once. You're down $300, but you're still full of energy, determined to keep playing right, and still confident you're the best player at this table. What are some thoughts going through your head? What adjustments to your game might you make?
16. Lets say you're on the button with $200 and have been dealt pocket aces. Three weak, passive, and unsophisticated villains limp in, you decide to make it $15 to go and surprisingly all call you. So, there's $60 in the pot when the flop comes down Ks 10s 5h, it gets checked around to you and you decide to bet $40. As soon as it gets back to the unsophisticated villain who limped in under the gun who has $120 back he shoves all in. All others fold, what's your play here and why?
17. Lets say you're on the button with $400 and have been dealt pocket kings. Three weak, passive, and unsophisticated villains limp in, you decide to make it $15 to go and surprisingly all call you. So, there's $60 in the pot when the flop comes down Qs 6hs 5h, it gets checked around to you and you decide to bet $40. As soon as it gets back to the unsophisticated villain who limped in under the gun who has $300 back he shoves all in. All others fold, what's your play here and why?
18. Lets say your chip stack is at $400 and you just limped in 66 from mid position along with two other limpers before a SUPER NIT sitting with $400 on the button makes it $20 to go. By the time it gets back to you both other limpers have called the $20 and you decide to call as well. So, when the flop comes down 6s Qs 4d there is $80 in the pot and everyone checks to the SUPER NIT. He quickly slams a stack of $100 in the pot. It folds back around to us, what's our play and why?
19. Lets say you're on the button with $200 and holding Kd9d, there's 4 limpers to you and you decide to just call the $2 and see a flop. So, the pot actually goes seven ways. The flop comes down Kh 6d 8d, everyone checks to you and you put in a bet of $10. Surprisingly, by the time it gets back to a normally weak passive guy who limped in UTG he puts in a raise for $35. On top of that two more players call the $35. So, there's like $145 in the pot and we have top paid with the second nut flush draw. What's our play here and why?
20. We have a strong, winning, and feared image at the table. We've been playing for about 2 hours and have been able to determine this one guy who makes it $7 to go a lot is usually doing that with hands like J10 offsuit, 86 suited, or Kd9d. He's under the gun and wouldn't you know it, he makes it $7 to go again. By the time it gets back to us in the small blind there's five callers and a total of around $39 dead money in the pot. We're sitting with As10s and a $250 stack. What's our play here and why?
21. Let say we're at a relatively easy $1/$2 NLHE game and all of a sudden a player we respect who might actually be better than us sits down on our direct left. After a few hands we get AJ offsuit in the cut off position, there's four limpers to us, and we decide to make it $15 to go. Then, all of a sudden, the guy we know is a good/competent player who is capable of sniffing out position raises and capable of 3betting light 3bets us to $45. He is sitting with $200, we are sitting with $300, it folds back around to us, and now we have the opportunity to play against him heads up. Are we 4betting, flatting, or folding? Explain your decision?
22. Lets say we're still at the table in the above question and despite being on this sophisticated players right we've managed to run our $200 buy in up to $600. It's no surprise that the player we respect has also ran his stack up to $700. Sadly, the table's three biggest fish have gone broke and left. But, all the other players who are sitting with $50-$100 are horrible. So, there's no threat there. Also, we now have a chance to stick it to this $hitbag on our left that may be 3betting us light a lot. What's going through our mind when the table's dynamics have changed like this? What's our game plan here six hours into this highly profitable session? Explain your thoughts.
23. You arrived to the casino excited to play some $1/$2 NLHE, but every table you played at is just SO NITTY. You could just leave, however you're determined to play an eight hour session today and make some money. What are some thoughts going through your head as to how you can loosen up your table? How do you plan to adjust your game?
24. Please list what you think are the five most important player attributes a player must have to play $1/$2 NLHE for a living and make $25 a hour and explain why each attribute is important.
25. How often would you say you tilt at the table? If you do tilt, please list the last three mistakes you made as a result of tilt. If you do not tilt, please explain the exercises or routines you go through which have made you tilt proof.
26. Please list the characteristics of what would be considered a good table to play poker at and why.
27. What % of the game would you say is luck? How important is luck?
28. If we play our a-game every time, get our money in when the mathematics are on our side, and do everything 100% correct in a session, would you say it is our right to win because we are clearly the better player and more intelligent?
29. If one of our villains at the table was continually exposing one or two of his hole cards and we kept getting a good line of sight on them is it our duty to inform the player of his gaffe or no?
30. If you and I are sitting at the same table is it acceptable to text eachother certain cards we just folded. Like, if the flop comes down 10s 9s 4s and you folded the the ace of spades pre-flop is it acceptable for you to text me that information real quick so I can use it to my advantage and bluff my opponent off the flop when I rep an ace high flush because I know he can't have it.
In addition to answering these questions, I will also be sharing one hundred percent real "Correspondence" between me and the players I back, specifically session logs just like this one from a brand new $1/$2 NLHE horse I picked up this week.
***Lotgrinder and Paco's critiquing is always in bold italics.***
You need to send me this information in a better format and 100% completed.
Looks like you only sent me notes on eight hands.
One suggestion would be after the hand is over to do a quick notation like this...
1. AA, OTB, 3L, R $17, 1c, flop Ks 2s 4d, checks to me, I bet $30, villain shoves all in, I call. Villain has 22. We lose. (-200)
(L=limpers, C=caller or call, R=raise, 3b=3bet, 4b=4bet, C/R=check raise, R/R=re raise, All F=all fold, and come up with other abbreviations as needed.)
Then after the session you can go back and fill in more details about the hand. Like, specifically why you thought this villain was capable of making a C/R all in with a flush draw. You are going to have to think of an easy way for yourself to send me notes. This will be a work in progress. We will get better at it. Here are my thoughts on the hands you did play.
1. Bb 7,5o (195) 5 limpers we check option Flop: 4,6,Qr SB bets 7 we call everyone folds Turn is a 3s to spades now. SB bets 15 we just call. River is Js Sb checks we bet 15 he calls Sitting at (237)
You can clean this up by typing it in as....
1. BB 75 (195) 5L, we check. Flop 4 6 Q r, SB bets $7, we call, all else fold, turn is a 3s bringing FD, SB bets $15, we call, river is Js, Sb checks, we bet $15, he calls, we win.
A. You do not have to note where we are as far as $$$ after the hand.
B. Bet the turn, you just smashed a straight, raise it to $35.
C. Bet more on river, like $30, if he check/raises you on river IT IS ALWAYS A FLUSH and you can fold. People DO NOT CHECK RAISE BLUFF on river.
2. Bu 97s (237) Mp2 makes it 6 2 callers we just call early in session dont want to start the 3bet train yet. Flop is QH 10h 2s we fold bu to a 14 dollar bet (231)
Clean this up by typing it as...
2. OTB 97s, ($240) <==round to nearest ten, MP makes it $6, 2c, we just call, miss flop, fold.
A. I am fine with just a call.
B. Yes, definitely a great 3bet spot we can utilize as well.
C. Glad you realized you had two options, if you would have went for 3B I wouldn't have been upset.
3.HJ. AJo Mp2 fish R 11 we just call Flop: jc 10c 3s raise checks we bet 17 he folds (237)
A. No need for period after HJ, no need for o after AJ, if suited, just remember to put a s, if I do not see an s I will assume hand was unsuited, again, no need to note $$ amount you are at after hand.
B. I like the flat. Anything to reduce variance in live poker is good. These players are all ticking time bombs and eat a vat of $hit. Keep yourself off tilt, prolong your hours in the game by preventing yourself from hitting your stop loss, and give yourself every opportunity to be there when the bombs go off. They will.
4. Mp2 k10d 3 limpers we make it 17 Guy in cu goes allin for 35 utg 1 goes allin for 68 we fold (221)
Good fold. Idiots donate $68 there often. I am only calling with JJ+ and AK there.
5. Utg Aqc (221) Make it 12 get bu and bb Flop: 5d, 6d, js Bb c, we c, bu c Turn is Jc. Bb c, we bet 25 both fold. (244)
You can bet these spots with air vs one opponent all the time, vs two opponents you are going to be wanting to bet it like around 75% of time, with air vs three opponents I am always laying off it for the most part. Unless a board is like 4 4 8, then I might make a cbet into 3 opponents. A board like 10 10 2 I am not going to cbet because a 10 is the biggest part of anyone's limp calling/calling a raise range that is not an ace. Think about it. 107 suited, all the way up to A10. Lots of people who call raises have a 10 in their hand. Remember that.
6.utg kqd limp in 5 player Flop: k92 r We bet 7 all fold (246)
You can raise KQ under the gun if you want. Never going to be mad at you about that. If we are called by a couple overly tight guys or a nit and the flop comes K X X or Q X X only go in for one street of value though and if called take the foot off the gas. DO NOT VALUE OWN YOURSELF with KQ against nits or overly tight players out of position.
7.utg ajo limp (238) 2 limper from ep and mp co make it 10 bu makes it 35 we fold
Good fold. Its a fold even if its suited. You also have a green light to raise AJ from UTG if you want as well.
8. Sb. 109o We complete for 1 5 players Flop:997 r we check Bu bet 10 we call A turn we check bu checks river is a 7 we bet 10 bu folds (250)
For big blinds and small blinds. Only take notes on them if there is action like you did in these two hands you logged so far. If you call a small blind or if you are in big blind and just check/fold. Never record the action. Always be looking to record hands we can help you with.
GOOD START FOR TAKING THE NOTES!!!

YOU WILL CONTINUE TO IMPROVE ON NOTE TAKING!!!
SEND ME REST OF SESSION NOTES WHEN YOU GET A CHANCE!!!!
That's all for right now 2+2 forums.
Check back for first official PLO update soon.

I have been there. Yogi is my hero. Will be back within a few weeks. Getting my stable together and trained for 2017 here in Detroit and then going to hit the road hard. Do you play in that game? I stayed in an AirBnB over in Kentucky.

Haven't been playing much since new job and kid on the way but PLO is always great action there. Weekend always has two 1-2 PLO running and at least a 2-5 PLO. Columbus can be pretty good too from what I hear.

Morning Traffic
There is nothing that makes me feel like more of an insect than having to sit in morning traffic. What's worse is knowing all the good people that surround me are crawling slowly to their little sand holes of misery they call a job. Eight hours later they'll lurch tiredly back to their homes and drug or drink themselves to sleep. Then they'll do it all over again the next day while hoping their children will one day have it better. These are the only people that have ever made me feel guilty about the game I play or crimes I've committed in my past for easy money.
I guess this is my apology.
You're more than I ever could be....

Interview With A Student Who Is Transferring Over From 25 cent/50 cent Online
1. Please list the hands you usually limp in from early position at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 No Limit Hold Em Table.
I do not usually limp in from EP with any of my range. However, I can see merit in limping suited aces and small pocket pairs
Definitely limp 22-88, limp or fold A2-A9 suited, and then limp or fold suited connected. You can limp in some KJ and QJ as well. I prefer to not raise everything we play from EP to reduce variance. Also, limping the small pp is good because getting 3bet out of set mining opportunities sucks.
2. Please list the hands you usually limp in from mid position at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 No Limit Hold Em Table .
Again, I do not usually limp in from ANY position. If I were to limp, we could have hands like suited gappers, small-mid PP's (22-77) and potentially some offsuit broadways.
Limp in the small PP, limp in more suited aces, limp in SC, limp in some suited gappers, and yes, we can start looking to raise more in MP2. Def do not raise A6-A9 suited. Limp those.
3. Please list the hands you usually limp in from late position at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 No Limit Hold Em Table.
Suited aces, suited K or Q5+ on occasion. As a general strategy I am not limping.
I am fine with you having a wide range IP. I consider hands like K5 suited or Q4 suited to be trash, BUT once we have a tight image established we will use it and raise with those hands to try to steal dead money. In live poker. You should usually be playing 35 hands to 45 hands every 8 hours. I do not want people I back to play too nitty. So when we are having a cold run of premiums we are going to look to use the tight image we established to get creative. So playing my style you are playing a lower variance route from EP and MP, folding more, raising less often. But you are going to use that $$$ to play more aggressive IP and 3bet light in good spots.
4. Please list the hands you call your small blind with?
This would depend on how many players have entered the pot already.
Please fold small blind very often. I am folding **** like 10s6s, J7 offsuit, J2 suited, K8, etc. I am a position junkie. Also, if you have a calling too much out of SB leak and we plug that up real quick it is going to make you an extra $3 a hour.
5. Please list the hands you raise with from early position at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 No Limit Hold Em Table.
I will be raising AJo+, 88+.
You can get KQ in there.
6. Please list the hands you raise with from middle position at at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 No Limit Hold Em Table.
ATo+, A8s+, 66+
Keep it at 88+, get KQ in there. Ditch Ax suited unless it is A2-A5 or obviously A10+, add in QJ suited...J10 suited.
7. Please list the hands you raise with from late position at at a relatively passive and easy $1/$2 No Limit Hold Em Table.
Q8s+. A2s+,22+, JTs+.
You can even go down to 67 suited and up. BUT PLEASE DO KNOW a raise is not mandatory. Sometimes we are just going to limp in. Like lets say we are down $400, kind of tilting, and we are gonna leave if we lose another decent sized pot because we have a $600 stop loss. When on the ropes..down money...nearing tilt...we have to tighten our range to premiums and weather the storm. In live poker if you just relax...stay patient...these idiots will give you their cash. So you do not have to keep pedal to the metal at all times. You have to learn to be a good game manager. Know when to pull certain tools out of the tool box. As a general rule for the first 60-90 minutes I am not getting too creative or widening my range too much. I am going to build a tight image and wait to see if a good run of cards is just gonna drop in my lap. Every few sessions it does if you let it. So while you do have permission to raise with a wide range in LP, know that letting off the gas and limping in is also an option.

Online Player's First Session
(200) UTG limps, MP opens to 11, co calls, I call in BB A7ss, utg limper calls. Flop 862ccc we check fold.
As nitty as this sounds, this is a 100% fold if it was a $15 raise, and an option to fold for $9 more. I like the call much better if all villains are $400+ deep. This is a bleed spot. Meaning like if you have noticed you buy in for $200, and within a hour you're down $100 and have not made it past a flop. You are calling in too many spots like this OOP. Again, this is not a mistake. Just a bleed spot you have the option to fold out of. And save that $9 to get aggressive in position or with light 3bets against $5-$9 opens.
(190) UTG limps we raise 10 with QQ from MP, 3 callers, flop A92, UTG leads out 15, we fold.
I prefer all raise sizing to be $12, $15, $17, $20, and $25. We use the first three for raising our real hands and then the $20 or $25 in position to apply max pressure with hands we are position raising with to steal a bunch of limpers money. Do not raise $10. If you are raising $12 and getting no calls. Change tables.
(180) 3L in front with blinds behind, we limp ATo OTB, flop 832sss. No spade, we fold facing a bet.
I like a raise to $17 or $21 here. A10 OTB is strong enough to raise for sure. An example of good game management would be when you are stuck $400, have a losing image, at a table full of call station **** balls, that is when you take a limp. But, with a nuetral + image I like a raise here.
(175) 3L in front, were in HJ and Limp A7ss. Cutoff isos to 17, 1 caller out of the blinds, we fold.
Great fold. If you called there, that's a huge leak. Remember, its still a fold when you're insides are burning from a suck out and down $400 to..
(170) in BB QTo, 4L plus SB 6 players total, We lead 10 get called twice on QQ8ss, turn 9, we bet 20, one caller, river As brings flush we check fold facing 30 bet.
Good disciplined fold. Not much we are beating. And these players rarely bluff on river. If ever.
(135) add on 50 (185)
Perfect!
(185) in BB 4L we have AJ and check, flop A84ss, we bet 10, one caller, turn 5s we bet 15, one caller, river 3c we bet 15 blocker bet. Lady calls She has flush. T7ss we lose. Lady is limping every hand and playing weak post. Probably should have isolated preflop.
If you raise AJ out of the blinds, pop it to $20. If you get called by a tight guy and the ace pops. Beware of nits who limp AQ and AK. Sometimes I only go in for one street of value out of position with AJ and KQ type hands.
(145) we top up another 50 (195)
(195) UTG2 limps with 65 stack. I raise to 10 in HJ, 2C flop J74, we check. Turn 7d UTG2 bets 12 we call, other caller folds, river 2 guy shoves 36 we fold.
Again, raise to $12 or $15. I like playing this spot passively if we have air. You didn't note the hand we are holding.
(175) UTG we limp 77, 2L+blinds, flop KJ6 we all check, turn J we check, guy IP bets 11 we call, others fold. River 2. Guy bets 11 we check fold.
No set no bet. We keep it simple.
(160) 4L, we limp OTB Q8dd, 7 players to flop, flop 895, SB leads 10 gets 2 callers and we fold.
(155) in LJ 2L we raise to 11 with AK, 3C, flop Q65, we all check, players are too short to stab. Turn K guy leads 10 we raise to 25, everyone folds. We win.
You are missing value with only raising to $10-$11 for sure at these games. Jack it up to $15-$17 often. These players DO NOT COME TO THE CASINO TO FOLD. You'll get calls.
(190) 1L we raise to 10 from MP, 4C, flop J73dd we bet 35, 2C. Turn 4 we bet 65, 2 call, one player is all in for less, river 4, we shove, players fold we win.
$150 in pot, **** betting $65 on turn, charge these idiots $100-$125 to draw, they will pay it. No clue what you had again. Probably an over-pair I am thinking. You may be missing lots and lots of value at $1/$2. You can literally 75% to pot all streets and these idiots will call and chase. You can also get more $$$ in pot by making every raise $12,$15,$17.
(390) EP raises to 8 and gets 5 callers we complete in BB with T7ss. Flop AQ4hh. We check fold.
This is a spot we can attack that $8 "pot sweetener" open with a $45 bet. If circumstances are right. Not saying they were right here. But this is just a thought that should be in our mind. Again, you are the offensive cordinator. I am going to fill your brain with all these plays, options, etc. Over the next two to three months it will all come together for you, click, and you will be making $20+ a hour at $1/$2.
(380) OTB A3hh 5L we limp, flop JJ4,all check turn 3, player leads 8 we fold.
Raising is an option with A2-A5 suited, A10+, if you have A6-A9 suited just limp. With 5 limpers I am making it $20 to go if I decide to raise.
(380) in CO A4o, we ISO 1 limp, get one caller were OOP to the flop QTK we check, turn 5, we check fold facing pot bet.
Not a bad board to give up on. As a general rule I am cbetting 100% against one villain though.
(365) QJcc UTG we open to 7, 4C, flop Q64 we check call 15, turn 5, we check guy bets 25, he's got 32 behind we sigh jam he shows AQ, river J we win. We can talk about this if you want. I wanted to fold turn... but didn't.
I usually limp QcJc UTG, if I am going to raise it is going to be $12, DO NOT EVER raise any pots $7. Our raises are what I have said above. And they go up depending on the amount of limpers or the amount of call stations that wont fold so we have to raise higher. Now as far as post flop, I am leading $20. It just makes the hand play easier and keeps us in control. Once we flop the open ender, I am DOUBLE BARRELING. Note, if you raised the hand to $12 pre, when we double barrel, your hand looks much more like KK/AA doesn't it?
(450) in BB J3hh vs 2 players post flop, flop J65, SB leads for 5, we call, guy calls, turn 7, SB checks, we check, short stack shoves for 25 we fold.
No need to note hands like this.
(445) in CO ATo 2L we ISO to 11, 3C, flop K77, all check, turn 9 all check, river 3 all check we scoop with AT.
2 limpers = $15 all the time. For sure. I promise they don't come to the casino to fold.
(470) UTG2 vs 1L we raise to 10, 2C, flop JJ6, all check, turn 9, all check, river Q we bet 16 both fold. We're IP entire hand.
See above.
(490) In BB T8ss, 6 players, flop T67, SB leads 10, we raise 22, he's all in for 21 with T2 we win.
(515) in HJ vs 1 limp we raise to 10 AJcc, 4 callers, flop 428c, we check call 20, turn 9 all checks, river 2, all check he shows A8 we lose.
Fold flop. Keep it simple.
(480) MP JJ, UTG raise to 7 we call, 2 callers behind, BB goes all in 50, UTG raiser folds we make it 100. Heads up vs 92hh we scoop.
Raise to $12.
(540) OTB AJdd vs 2L we raise to 11 3C, flop A95ss we bet 17, 1 call, turn 7s we bet 34, one call, river Q we check and lose to A5. Guy is playing a ton of weak aces OOP.
Raise it to $15 pre. As played there was $45 in pot. I want to see a $25-$35 bet here. They WILL CALL. On turn you need to be betting $50 or so. I like the check back on river for sure.
(475) in MP KQo vs 2 limpers, we raise to 10 both call. Flop Q73, limper leads for 12 we raise to 31 he folds KQ we win.
Raise to $15 pre, you still would have got called.
(495) in HJ vs 2 limpers we ISO 12 A9o, 2 callers. Flop Q82 we check, turn 5 we check river 2 we check and lose to AJ. Definitely not cbetting enough this session.
Raise more pre with A9, like, we really don't want more than one caller with that. So hit it for $17-$20, cbet it, take down the pot.
4hr 32 min. +177
Based on your bet sizing, I can promise you that you are leaving at least $100 of value on the felt each session. All these people who call your $7, $10, $11 raises will call $12, $15, and $17 raises. They do not drive 30-60 minutes to the casino to fukking fold their **** hands. So you make more money there AND more money when you bet flop and turn. You're no dummy. Thank about it. We have discovered a missing value problem that is VERY VERY easy to fix in your first session under Paco and I. Fukk yeah brother.

Readers, how do you like the format I ask my students to use to note their hands and the thoughts I offer after when I critique? I literally have five hundred of these sessions I can tune up and press to a book within the next few months. Do you think it has value? Of course I am going to be posting many more here for free. But, if one hundred to two hundred of $1/$2-$1/$3 session logs like that were available with commentary do you think it is worthy of a book? Thanks for following.

Think it's much more interesting and helpful to pick a couple hands where there are either major leaks or something interesting worth talking about, then adding in a few minor-fix hands, and crafting that around some of your storytelling.
Exhausting reading this and seeing "raise more pre" 20 times.

Hey LotGrinder, welcome back.
Yeah, the format is a little bit hard to read at any length. Your comments are good but the HH's need to be formatted differently imo to make them more readable. Not sure exactly how, but maybe card symbols or something would help.
I've still got those session histories you sent me a while back. I did find them a little hard going tbh, not because of the content which is great, but the format made it difficult reading.

If I could just bink a donkament for 25k+ I'd pay to send what I have written so far to a poker book editor who could format every hand history to be uniform and easy to read. Also, I like to include all hands from sessions because I am the kind of person who believes if I can watch a brain surgeon perform a specific brain surgery five to ten times I'd be able to perform the same brain surgery. So, I think it is important for aspiring poker players looking to beat the $1/$2 NLHE to see exactly how a winning player plays for his six to eight hour sessions. This game is not rocket science, it is all about repetition at the lowest levels when you are trying to take $2,000-$5000 and run it up to $10,000-$15,000 for a real shot at $2/$5 NLHE. But, perhaps after the first ten or twenty of these I include in a book, I'll then switch to only going over five to ten highlight hands from each session and the others I can not offer advice on I'll just list "standard" underneath them. This thread will pick up here shortly as I have more time to write rather than oversee these three new horses I got lined up for the new year. I am also anxious to talk a lot about PLO, not because I think I know a lot about that game, but because I know 100% for sure I am not an expert at it and have much to learn.

I like the format, but I could see validation to some condensing as well. I think that if you were to produce a book, that authentic testimonials about proven results(from your horses) would go a long way. Not saying this is a hoax, as I have read your previous threads and posts, and value your strat voice. Strat for the llsnl community has a pretty vast audience imo, but there are a lot of skeptics that want that assurance that others have succeed with the offered styles of play.
I might suggest, that for a book format, further extrapolation would be beneficial, as for why you suggest "x" range, or "x" raise size, at least for a more green audience.
I think that you are posting some valuable content. Thanks for doing so.

i think you should find a mexican whose other account was banned to help you and let him do some work for you at mexican prices, especially if he is moving back to the states possible in JANUARY...whoa... and then you cherry pick the highlights and respond to his comments, especially if he is some kind of genius waiting to bloom who is one your wavelength on so many things....

Merry Christmas
If anyone thinks they are a loser these holidays just know I woke up this morning and busted open some Russel Stover Chocolates I was given as a gift by someone in the family who probably had them sitting around in a closet collecting dust for a decade. You know no one cares about you when all you get is Russel Stover. If people love you or even like you, they buy you Godiva. Anyway, I thought I’d try something called a “Roman Nougat” for breakfast, gross, strawberry cream or some sort of fruit filling in that motherfukker. Spit that bad boy right out into the pan I’ve had leftover Velveeta crusting in for two days. Next up, a “Molasses Chew,” that went down much more easy. Fukk it,” I thought. “I’ll have another. It’s Christmas.” After that I moved over to the caramel pieces. Started to guilty when I felt the sticky brown substance gluing my jaws together. Washed it all down with a half Faygo Moon Mist because I might be a loser, but I am not a complete loser. I support local brands and don’t have anything awful like a wife or kids.
Now, I am going to head to the gym and get torqued up on some pre-workout and hope a hot young girl with a nice ass chooses the stairmaster in front of me. I always like it when they board the stairmaster in front of me when I am forty five minutes into my workout so I can push myself an extra thirty minutes. I am going to really need the extra motivation today because I plan to lay around the house, bet on NFL football, and order a pizza from whatever business knows their employees are dumb enough to work on Christmas Eve and decides to stay open.
But, I am going to give the delivery driver a $20 tip and hope he spends it on good booze or drugs. That will be the best nicest thing I do today or tomorrow besides paying my Grandmothers rent and putting $100 in my one year old nieces play purse. This is my life. Hope I made some of you feel better about your own. Stay safe if you’re stupid enough to be out there buying anyone but children presents.
Merry Christmas.

"Mr. Ed's Light 3-betting Adventures At $1/$2 NLHE"
The following is an email I sent to all my $1/$2 No Limit Horses.
"This deserves mad respect.
When I met Mr.Ed he was down on his luck and had busted his $1/$2 NLHE bankroll. He admitted to me his game was much too spazzy and he had emotional issues that prevented him from fulfilling his dream of becoming a professional poker player. He lacked confidence and doubted himself often. Paco and I took him as our first horse and threw him into the fire with three requests, take well detailed notes, do not steal our money, and never lie about a hand history or we can not help you. One of the things we asked Mr.Ed. to do was to attack $4-$9 opens relentlessly.

Around $2600 profit, an average of $20 a hand, when attacking a “pot sweetener” $4-$9 open by a player on a $120 stack or greater. And also note, I did not include any hands where we had AK, KK, or AA and 3bet light openers. So. Mr.Ed was able to print around $20 a hand over the course of the one hundred and thirty light 3bets he executed when he attacked these "pot sweetener" type opens. Also note, Mr.Ed had just started with us and he was actually being overly cautious with these 3-bets and I strongly feel he could have made more of these 3bets, perhaps even double since he has admitted he feared making these 3-bets with complete trash.

As one of Mr.Ed's coaches I would think that is a quote he should identify with very much. It is also a quote I identify with as well. I am not making $75,000 a year because I was born some poker prodigy. I am making $75,000 a year because I despise losing and will out work, out grind, out study my opponents, and not tilt or give away money as easy as they do. I don't know if Mr.Ed believed he could play poker for a living six months ago, but he better fukking believe it now, that hard work is paying off and there is more to come. He shall now be known as Seabiscuit."

Results:
Around $2600 profit, an average of $20 a hand, when attacking a “pot sweetener” $4-$9 open by a player on a $120 stack or greater. Upon several of my blog fans and Facebook fans reaching out to me offering affordable editing and sorting of the information so I can do mass data analyzation, I have decided to move forward with the publishing of a book. 2017 is going to be a very exciting year for Lotgrinder and friends. I can't wait to meet up with some of you after I churn this motherfukker out over the next sixty days.

Talk Less. Grind More.
This is a must watch for any of you that have failed to reach a goal, are currently tying to reach a goal, or have succeeded in reaching a goal. I saw this video today and decided there is not one damn thing he said that I could say better. So, please take some time to watch Detroit's own Eric Thomas at his best ladies and gentleman. If this doesn't motivate you to conquer 2017 I don't know what will.

The correct answer is to change tables. When you're just starting out/looking to build a bankroll at $1/$2 NLHE that is big enough to play $2/$5 No Limit Hold Em there is no need to have an ego and try to beat $1/$2 No Limit Hold Em tables where you're clearly not the best player. I can honestly say in my lifetime of playing $1/$2 No Limit Hold Em I probably sat less than ten hours at tables with decent to good competition. Why play "The New England Patriots" for your living when you can find a table that is essentially "The Cleveland Browns."

Obv table changing is the right answer, but the way the question is asked it seems like moving might take a while (you stated it would be a while before they moved because the room was full). Assuming this would you rack up and leave, or stay and play with some adjustments being made for the tougher competition?

Jack Casino In Cincinnatti
So, I walk into the men's room adjacent to the poker room here at Jack Casino in Cincinnati and there is a tall lanky black man named Charlie working much too fast for my liking mopping the floor. He is not using the traditional looking mop the janitors I used to make fun of in high school used. He is using one of those floor swifter thingies I don't know how to operate instead. From what I gather you can clean floors at a much greater pace with one of those than the old mops and this guy is literally dripping sweat from his "Touch of Gray" beard as he works at a furious speed.
I immediately start to feel guilty that I get to play poker for a living so I say, "Charlie. You've got to slow down. You're working much too fast my friend." Charlie breaks a smile, stops working, and says "Oh I don't usually work this fast. You just caught me in the zone." I say, "I think that's bull$hit Charlie. I think you need a beer. Want me to go get you a beer?" "No," Charlie says. "There's cameras in here." "No there's not," I reply. "That's why I can't figure out while you're working so hard Charlie."
He laughs and asks, "What do you care how hard I work anyway?" I said, "I care enough to know you work harder than most and get paid the same or less. And I just wanted you to know I've done the same." Fukk," he said. "You must have read my god damn mind. You know you got that motherfukking right."
"See. Now we're talking Charlie," I said. Can I get you that beer?" He smiled again, but refused for a second time and then I asked, "Well if I gave you this $25 chip could you promise to do one thing for me today Charlie?" He said, "Sure." Then I put the little green token in his hand and said, "Don't take any $hit from your boss." But, what I should have told him was "Make sure you buy yourself a beer."
